  1. Awesome! Once it's finished, you have to take a pic with Karen dressed up as Leia!
  2. An easier target!
  3. Because when we see Hero suits, Rebel scum is wearing it!
  4. You can see Han's ties in the reactor room, and the strips of the stunt seals in the Tantive IV scene... Just sayin..
  5. Almost everything is acceptable. The original was an almost vest like garment and tief around the belly.
  6. Sorry, I don't see it.
  7. Indeed! must have used several thousends of them in the past years! Sometime ago, when I made some resin molds, I ran out of gloves, I ran to the next supermarket. I got gloves, baby powder and vaseline. It took me a while to realise WHY everybody was staring at me... Lesson learned: Some things are best ordered online!
  8. BTW: Don't ever google "ribbed silicone" or "ribbed latex". NEVER!
  9. Rob, indeed, But I think they'd be too rigid anyway. Glen, thank you!
  10. No, not really. But I already looked into that. So far, no luck. The few I found had the wrong diameter.
  11. The neck seal is used to hide the bare neck. Han's and Luke's were custom tailored (some kind of shiny fabric) for the actor's comfort and as you said it, "to make it more interesting" Those poor extras (some 50+people) had to wear some kind of latex (neoprene) neckseal, most proabably from a deep devie suit.It surely was a found part, although we didn't find it (yet) and most probably won't ever will (aber 35 years!) The next bet thing to a real found part is to replicate it by hand. I think the fact that no neck seal really looks alike is due to the stretchabilty and flexibility of the latex. But I have to have one in hand to be sure. Thanks for your (unintended) input; it gave me the chance to summarize this thread!
  12. from here:http://furiousfanboys.com/2010/06/the-best-star-wars-easter-eggs/ IIRC, the potatoe was one of the asteroids in ESB
  13. Yeah, I never found the pair of sneakers and the potatoe in ROTJ either!
  14. I once read the rumor that they used Star Wars model kits and a Kenner R2 on the Borg ship.
  15. Thanks ,Lou! to be honest, I was thinking about making a silicone one from the very first beginning! I have find a suitable silicone first. So far no luck
  16. They did an awesome job on the conversion. It may be a little pricy, but it's def worth it. But season 1 is sometimes a little cheesy, almost TOS like.
  17. Indeed it is. But it is also the only one. If you look at the trooper to the very left, no sign of a taper. I'm going to build this one straight. I really do think the taper comes from stretching Don't confuse hero neck seals with the stunt ones
  18. I got TNG season 1 on blu ray on friday. It's like watching new episodes!
  19. Those stickers are Garrison brandings. I guess with a soldering iron and black pastels make good damages.
  20. Keep on boldly going!
  21. Yeah, I'm thinking about to use 1 rib less (i.e.). IMO, the "tapering" is a result of the neck seal contouring the neck. If you look at the Sandtrooper pics there's no taper.
  22. No big news. I'm stil trying to perfectmy sculpting technique. But here's a mock up with a floor matt, which has just about the right spacing Also pictured: a real Edelweiss from my balcony and a vintage rubik's cube.
