  1. I bought an ESB Stormtrooper/Snowtrooper hand plate at a con this weekend for my Mando kit. It's roughly trimmed, but I'm not exactly sure how much more I should trim it, or how how I should sand it. Should I use a dremel, or should I just use sandpaper?
  2. I was in Wal-Mart and found out that they started carrying Scout Trooper boots All they need are a few modifications here and there. ]
  3. Nice! We need to do something like that in actual kits
  4. Does this mean that an you'll be allowed to wear ANH helmets with your Anthology armor?
  5. I almost passed out when I saw those IMPERIAL Star Destroyers! I always hoped that the Imperial remnant was still a thing. There have been rumors that Thrawn might be in this movie. Though I still think that he is too big of a villain to bring in last minute, especially with the Emperor there too. But maybe it's the seventh fleet returning after being lost in wild space for all these years.
  6. I guess The Black Series helmet is screen accurate now.
  7. Hey, I got a pair of 12v 3D printer fans, some switches, and some 9v battery connectors. After I put everything together and tested the fans, the 9v battery began to get very hot. I assumed that it had something to do with the fact that the battery and fan voltages didn't match up. Does anyone know what I should do? As far as I know, there is such thing as a 12v battery. Thanks!
  8. Yep. I like how it doesn't have a seam or mouth grill holes in the picture
  9. Alright thanks! It was just a thought. Besides, I like TLJ helmet better.
  10. Can the Rubies FO TK helmet be modded for approval? Just curious.
  11. Thanks! Absolutely! You have to be down to earth with the small children! I would do that and add the "The Empire recognizes your loyalty!" line, or "Enjoy your day citizen!" Thanks! That's definitely ok! Yeah! That would be good to use when there is heavy traffic in a convention hall, or after you've finished "interrogating" someone
  12. Staying in character while in armor has always interested me. After watching videos of the Stormtroopers at Disney's Galaxy's Edge, I decided to start compiling an array of sayings and responses for different scenarios and I would like to share them with you! SPECIFIC RESPONSES: Citizen: Can I get a picture with you!? Stormtrooper: Affirmative. Proceed with holoscan. Citizen: Thank you! Stormtrooper: All for the glory of the Empire/First Order! Citizen: Your armor is awesome! Stormtrooper: It's made to Imperial specifications. Citizen: How long did it take you to make that? Stormtrooper: About ____ standard months. Citizen: (Waves hand) You don't need to see my identification, or These aren't the droids you're looking for. Stormtrooper: This must not be the Jedi we're looking for. PUBLIC INTERACTION If you see members of the public staring at you in awe or excitement: The Empire/First Order recognizes your loyalty! Your allegiance is noted. The Rebels/Resistance will fall under the might of the Empire/First Order! Careful Citizens! Rebel activity has been reported in this sector! If you see a child dressed as Darth Vader, or Kylo Ren. (Salute them) Lord Vader/Ren! If you see someone with a lightsaber: That's a lightsaber! We'll assume you're a collector. ONLY a collector. CONVERSATIONS WITH OTHER TROOPERS: Stormtrooper#1: I could sure go for a cup of caf right now! Stormtrooper#2: Affirmative! Stormtrooper#1: I heard that Lord Vader/Ren might be making an appearance today! Stormtrooper#2 That seems unlikely. Stormtrooper#1: Have you heard about the new T-16's? Stormtrooper#2: Yeah, some of the other guys were telling me about it! They said it was quite a thing to see! ANNOUNCEMENTS: Stormtrooper: Citizens! We have been ordered to re-position, and are vacating these premises! Stormtrooper: Rebel activity has been reported in this area! If you see anything, then report it immediately! Remember to use discretion when interacting with the public. If they seem annoyed, or disinterested, then then don't continue to harass them. And If a child seems frightened of you, then break character and try to sound cheerful. Maybe even lift up your bucket, so they can see it's a real person under there! I'll update this with more phrases and responses as I come up with them. Feel free to post any of your own ideas!
  13. Hey! I finally took my suit out for it's maiden voyage today! I walked around outside and inside for about an hour. I went up and down stairs, through tight hallways, stood around the yard, and had people honk at me as they drove past. I have taken note of all the things that I am having trouble with and that need to be fixed. I'm having a lot of trouble walking. I think my shins may be pulled down too far with the elastic stirrups I made, so it's hard to move my ankle. And there's something up with my ab and butt plate armor. Maybe ab/kidney is too low? Whatever it is, it's causing me to walk with my legs spread out like I had an accident in my armor Here are some photos. Maybe you guys can see why I'm having so much trouble? Front: Back: Left Side: (forgot to take right pic) Right and left sides with arms up: Front with blaster: Action shot: Making sure there are no rebels in the house: Also, there is no air moving around inside my helmet, so it seems that fans are a necessary investment. I'm also going to remove the backing to my frown mesh. I'm wearing a thermal undersuit and it's really warm, so I guess I'll have to try and find something cooler. Other than these few problems, my suit seems to work pretty well and I'm exited to start wearing it to cons and the like. Thanks!
  14. That's an awesome video! Thanks for sharing!
  15. Boy, I wish I had a pair of those! Maybe a rubber butt plate too!
  16. Congratulations trooper! nice work!
  17. Were those made of plastic!? I thought I read that they were made out of rubber.
  18. I ended up using the elastic stirrup idea. I tried using velcro, but it didn't feel secure and it made a really loud scratching/grinding sound when I walked. The elastic works really well. Almost too well. I feel like it almost pulls it down too far. Well, now my suit is completely finished. Maybe a few tweaks here and there, but I will probably always be continually modifying it. Can't wait to take this baby out for a spin, but it's going too be a bit too hot out for the next few days. I just need to see how it holds up to prolonged walking. I also need to find a suitable travel box. I bought a rolling footlocker from Wal-Mart, but it was too small. There was this really big rolling tub there too for the same price. I guess I'll try that next.
  19. So we're the suits that Han and Luke used specially made to be flexible? Because you see Stormtroopers in ANH with cracked armor and duct tape repairs all throughout the movie. Wow! That is some awesome armor Paul!
  20. Han sits down in his TK armor on the Death Star in ANH. My one question is HOW!? Maybe they removed his butt plate for the part? Still, even if they did, there seems to be some high stress on his armor, especially on his chest plate. Please share if you have any theories, or info on how they actually did this and if there was any damage to his costume.
  21. That would hold it on pretty good. I think I would probably have to add one to the back of my boot and shin too. that's where it rides up the most. Thanks! I've also seen a video where a member had a stirrup on the inside of his shin armor. Has anyone had any experience with that?
  22. My boots came today! They're a lot more sturdy than I thought they would be and the color matches my armor pretty well! I was expecting that inaccurate seam down the front to be more noticeable that it actually is. The only problem I have is that when I wear them, my shins start riding up on my leg. And when I walk, they pop up past the top of the boots. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?
