  1. Looking good. I'm leaving my helmet until last so that I can (hopefully) skill up on the other armour parts before tackling the most important piece. What did you use on the teeth and tube stripes?
  2. Could you use velcro to attach the underside of the chest to the top of the ab? That might stop it pulling up.
  3. What did you use to trim your shins? Can you cut the fibreglass with lexan scissors like you do abs or does it need a dremel and cutting wheel or similar?
  4. I'd say that its pretty clear from that pic that your thigh armour is the right height. The thigh should come up to a height that the drop box only overlaps by an inch or so.
  5. I thought it had to be cut out. From the crl: "The front edge of the kidney armor is cut approximately 70 degrees and has a small gap between the ab and kidney"
  6. Hi mate When my kit arrived i had a large crack in the top of the chest piece. Jim sent me out a replacement straight away so Im sure he'll look after you, I know he's in the process of changing shipping companies though. While I was waiting I decided to see if I could repair the damage though. I started by using superglue in the crack to hold it together. Then I used Araldite 2 part epoxy resin, smeared thinly on the front, more thickly on the back for reinforcement. Once sanded down the result is quite smooth, I'll be interested to see how it comes out when I paint it.
  7. The film makers went with the "used look" for all the troopers (including TKs) in this movie, I dont think there are any seen on screen that don't have some weathering. I think it's fair to assume that this look will continue in future movies of this period (Solo for example). So, either "some level" of weathering needs to be an accepted option or the whole costume, and possibly any future ones, get handed over to the MEPD. Because there aren't any "clean" RO TKs.
  8. I have mine ready to go. Ive got monday and tuesday off next week to start prepping and sanding. I'll be putting a build thread up on here.
  9. So there's something attached to the underside of the bell that hooks into that slot? If you look at the first pic you can also see a slot in the top of the bicep with some strapping coming out, over the top of the bicep and under the bell.
  10. On that last pic it looks more like the "hook" is actually a slot cut into the bicep. Also is the the hole just below the right shoulder attachment point found on all RO troopers?
  11. Thanks, I’d not spotted that, I’ll take a look.
  12. Thats a great pic, thank you. I guess I was also asking though, are people strapping that way because they know it works (from looking at OT TKs) or because thats how it was also done for Rogue One? If possible I'd like to strap mine the same way as the screen used ones were.
  13. How are people strapping their Rogue One TKs? This is my first TK build, so while I’ve seen the way ANH TKs are setup (using webbing and snaps) is this the way that the screen used ones for Rogue One were done?
  14. Yep that's the pic I was thinking of.
  15. The ultimate visual guide has a pic from scariff showing regular TKs (no packs, no pauldrons) carrying DLT-19s.
  16. So we have an approved crl for a The Last Jedi Executioner, a character that nobody has even seen on screen yet. But the Rogue One TK...... still waiting? Priorities LMO?
  17. Ahhhhh. Thanks for clearing that up
  18. Im not sure what book that is from? I don't believe that the spacetrooper featured at all in rogue one (or the visual guide). In fact, wasn't the shield gate officer a Navy Trooper (officer)?
  19. There are a couple of entries on the crl that specify plastic as the material required: the belt and the hand guards (for level 2). So Jim's kit, made entirely of fibreglass doesn't make basic?
  20. I'll echo what others said, when there are small kids around you really need a minder. Interested to hear about the hearing assist system. Where did you place the microphones?
  21. Best not mention the seahawks game then....
  22. Speaking of hand guards is anybody making them? I have one of Jimmi's RO kits on order, however like the rest of his kit the hand guards are presumably fibreglass, not plastic as is required for Level 2.
  23. Has there been any update to progress on getting this CRL approvable? I'd really like to do this build but to be honest the lack of a CRL makes it quite daunting. * not meant as any criticism, just a question *
  24. Im 5'6" myself so I'll be very interested as to just how much trimming you need to do.
