If you are going with bracket strapping, you’ll need the return edges.
Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkIf he's doing brackets will need to build a return edge on the top of the butt plate and bottom of kidney as WTF TK those parts come as one piece and you need to cut them apart

Building off what Frank said, think about what strapping you will be using.
Are you using snaps? Brackets? Velcro?

For the strapping it really depends on where it is attaching and what you want it to do.
Nylon is great for holding things in place and limit its movement
Elastic is great for when you need flexibility and the ability for the part to move "breath"

Did you miss cutting your cake? lol Happy Birthday!

We will follow your build with great interest!
Post lots of pics and always ask questions that is why we are here!

You can remove all the return edge everywhere for comfort.
The idea of return edge is, more for show less for comfort.
The only place that is a requirement for return edge is at the wrist side of the forearm which is to have no return edge at all.

Yeah, that is what inspired me to ask. I was wondering how exactly he did that, and how I could do it myself. Thanks though!
Yep those are my fans. And as CTID stated is using a potentiometer but more technically wired as a rheostat. I have not encountered any fan squeaking yet as mentioned. Happy to answer any questions about it.

Looking good Lou! I don't see anything that's stopping basic approval and after that should be an easy path to Centeruion!
Good job trooper!

For the tube stripes ensure a pencil width from the "cheek" is where they should start.

One fix from my centurion application that I did was fix a couple of the black mic paint stripes
Before:
After:
I extended paint stripes 2 and 6 up

I more pulled the hand guards off and glued them on the new ones. I trimmed any excess old glove that may have pulled off and was not hidden underneath the glove.

I bought new gloves as they were only $5 and easy to reglue the hand guards back on. Saved myself all sorts of headache

Made it to centurion!
A few minor suggestions to really make my kit look better which was to give the hovi mic tip lines a bit more extension.
Also to raise my brow trim a tad, but that may or may not happen....we will have to see

Welcome back, Jeff, and thank you for your patience and for your Centurion application.
CRL and Centurion Application Requirements:
All required submission photos are present. Thank you for making the suggested updates to the teeth, ab gap, hand guards, shoulder bells and that pesky drop box . Beautiful job on your build Trooper .
We are pleased to announce your armor displays all the necessary requirements as set out in the CRL. On behalf of the D.O. Staff, congratulations and welcome to Centurion!
Other-Armor Fit/Assembly:
Just a few items here, sir.
When suiting up, always double check the evenness of your thighs. If a mirror isn't available, you can always ask a fellow Trooper if the tops are level. A small detail, but one that adds up to a much more polished look.
You really should raise the brow on your bucket, brother. It looks more Hero than Stunt...

Your vocoder could use some extra paint to extend the 2nd and 6th bumps. This would be a lot closer to screen accuracy.

Nothing more to add, brother, except to get that Centurion decal on your bin! Excellent job
Thank you Joseph! I'll definitely touch up the paint a smidgen. I've been meaning to get a small portable mirror to stash in my tote for such occasion as double checking fitment.
The brow I may move it up a tad
It's been a great build for the past year! Starting this all in January and finally completing my goal now. I'm proud I get to represent the FISD as an attache and now at the highest approval level!

Here is the fixed drop box after the additional E6000
Now we wait

BTW, I appreciate you waiting to put the Centurion decal on your bin... that definitely shows character!
Thank you sir! It's just not the same if I didn't earn it.
Speaking of which, here is one fixed drop box

Your right it is a small thing. But its a small thing that MATTERS! Plus I have a troop this weekend so I will be trying on my kit tonight anyways to make sure all is good. Easy to snap a pic. Hope you can approve me by Saturday so I can troop with that centurion sticker on my tote
