Do it to the rear side strip, don't worry about the top looking like it will be a bit off after the cuts, it mates close enough and is covered up by the shoulder bell anyways.

Beware on the lower trims on the calves, they will need to fit around your boots, not just skinny ankles. I didn't account for the boots being much larger, I hadn't ordered yet them when I trimmed.

If you can find rivets that are long enough to get a washer on both elastic and plastic side, I'd go with those. Pulls out pretty easy without washers to reinforce.

Getting ready to take submission pics tomorrow, have one concern. I don't think I trimmed my 4 button panel on the ab small enough. Should I fix it or will it be ok as-is?

Wooden dowel is awesome, great for event no up return edges and reforming curves, can get a nice straight sand, or dig in and round it out. By far was best tool on my build too.
