  1. I just use a boom Mike on headset modded to fit my head tighter and a 12 watt aker under front chest piece gives the perfect to sound
  2. requesting access to 501st section. im in the 501st, and also the sith lord detachment. http://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=6567 my designations are: TK6208 and SL6208
  3. i have 2 squirrel cage mini fans mounted in mine in the cheeks areas blowing up towards the lenses
  4. sorry to hear of the trouble Smitty, hopefully youll be back soon, i have a friend whos gonna need a set of lenses soon for a FX build.
  5. thanks guys, im so glad you all like what i did, i tried to do tons of pic reserch and reading up from here and elswhere and incorporate what most were doing into my single setup. that whole lower body section is one piece, i went with the "waders" style of setting it up, so after my legs are all on, i step into and pull up the whole section like waders, and use suspenders i mounted on it to hold it up. i did have a lil trouble with the chest poppin up over the front occasionally, so for tommorow i tightened up the suspender straps a lil to pull the lower section up just a bit, to see if that helps to keep the chest from doing that again. and one other issue i had, was where the the forearm part comes up when you bend your arm, for like takin lid on or off, it pinched me against the bicep part and it did it enough i got a sore and it bled where it pinched me. i have a idea on that, 1 or 2, either take just a bit more off the forearm arc to keep it from pichin me on bicep armor, or raise the bicep armor just a lil bit higher up inside the shoulder bells so foream armor doesnt make contact and pinch me.
  6. lol, yeah they were a cool group for sure, today went great with exception that i got NO pics today, my helper and pic taker was a dark jedi and he got roped into every shot, so no opp to get my own done, i was swamped with folks wantin pics in my Vader today. tommorow is gonna be trooper again, so i need to get me a good wall backdrop color there to take my 501st submittal shots for my TK id. a fellow TK from my area was there scrutinized the costume a few minutes, and said it was very well done, and will have no probs gettin my TK number. so that makes me feel pretty dang good. i will make wife get more shots tommorow, for sure, folks just went nuts over the troopercom voice unit and aerator speakers in the trooper friday. it projected well enough in the noisy area they heard me from at least 10 to 15 feet away. and nice thing bout the trooper, is they all liked it when i did the nothing to see here, move along move along line, lol and i can TAKE OFF that lid. being ROTS Vader i cant take the mask on and off as i please cuz the neck goes under front armor and is a pain to try to put back on with armor on. so once its off, i change costumes. more pics tommorow, i hope.
  7. well heres some shots from first day, 2 more to go, wearin vader tommorrow, i dunno which sunday yet. first shot posin with the actress from star wars who played shok Ti, i know i dunno how to spell it, lol------------
  8. thank you guys, means alot comin from all you fellow TK's. my main is Vader of course but im shootin to get a TK number as well. the drop baoxes i followed advice posted i run across that they were to be belown the last box and not at the position where ammo box is secured on both ends. if its not that huge a deal i will leave them as is, but i can move them out if i really need to. in pics i had forgot to put the gun holster on belt. im really happy that you guys like the side gap thing i did. i used extra slats i purchased when i got the FX kit. shaped the droop of the front down to blend into the side panels. and used black elastic to connect the front and back on both sides. the way i did it, i can remove some plastic and reconnect if i lose some weight. thank you again for the support, makes me feel really good bout what i accomplished.
  9. well heres the trooper and also showing off the blaster, which thanks to my good friend Do-Clo was made possible to build from a hasbro blaster.
  10. i used something i had leftover from 2 shelve bookcases, in the assembly kit were these white webstrap lookin straps used to secure the tops to the wall so they wont tip over, it was perfect to use for my dropboxes
  11. i know at first he didnt, but at least the the last year he sold the V1's he did. and the V2's have them also. i guess if needbe if i can locate the first one i could put in on the computer copy it off, and send it to whoever needed it.
  12. jim always sends a cd with instructions along with amps. my vader V1 and Vader V2 both come with them.
  13. i went with the troopercom interface, and a set of stompers speaker hovis in one lid, and the other is setup up the same except it has trik toys hovi and speakers in it. beleive it or not the trik toys are louder than stompers. both setups works well, i just use velcro to hold the TCI in place, and that allows me to swap TCI between both lids.
  14. the 3 novus polishes work well, and you can gettem off ebay most of the time fairly cheap.
  15. wanted to let ya guys know, i was able to carefully lift each stripe off with point of exacto knife and then used the mr clean eraser sponge thing on it to clean it up, and applied the new blue stripes. thanks again for the help!!
  16. thanks the pics help. once i get the thighs measued in back for overlap and i was thinkin goin velcro on backside as i already glued the fronts up, then i can get the ammo box on there. im 6' 2" tall naturally so yeah im gonna be a taller trooper. you should see me in my vader, my height plus no lifts outside on boots, but internal 3/4 inch insole lifts, plus the dome im at the 6' 7" to 6' 8" range. so i make a pretty tall vader, lol
  17. well since the other lid had 2 stripes on each side, i just lifted one from each side and placed them on the other lid. alot of shots i seen only show one stripe on each side, so i went with that.
  18. ok, im getting close to positioning and rivotong the thigh ammo belt. but i dont know the exact position it needs to be. i have seen some that show the lower center of the thigh showing above the thigh ammo belt. and i seen others showing it just even with the top of the center thighs lower raised edge. anyone got a good closeup shot showing its position so i can mount it right?
  19. i never thought of that. i guess i could, and would be really easy to do too. thanks for the tip.
  20. well on bridges i decided to just single rivot each bridge down on chest, but velcro the back to bridges. i installed my suspenders but havent tried it on yet. should work fine tho. i got a 2 inch web belt to use as a waist strap to attach the thighs to with a couple drop straps off it and snaps.
  21. if thats all the problem is with a rivot there. im not worried then. half the guys in my garrisons troopers arent total screen acurate anyways either. lol
