  1. Your very welcome to the sample,, no need for paying the postage. Its gift to you for your input and help...... Single casting is a slow process, I'm getting a multi cavity mold made. All the hole and threads have to be done after its cast.... I post a video of the laser scanning the scope for cadcam http://www.warmachinepaintball.com/2016/09/30/m19-telescope/ http://www.warmachinepaintball.com/2016/07/30/20160730201607302016073020160730hengstler-counters/
  2. Battle conditions claimed most im sure,,, these are so damn rare. I put a huge bounty on them for which everyone who owns one loves me now LMAO . Early war tanks did not make it though the war so im sure they went to the scrap yard during and after the war. The m38 is rare but still obtainable , ive seen them hit 1500.$ Years ago i had the oportunity to buy a stuart tank in the mid 90's , i didnt ! thought what the hell am i going to do with that.... It sold a week later for 15,000 dollars. They go for alot more now. Wonder if it had a scope still in it???? The scope was made to hold up in a very bad enviroment . Like I have stated before, high tech then still high tech. They may make then cheaper but not better.
  3. I havent given up ,, this is by far the toughest project so far. ill deep deep to find a manufacturer to make these ... There are so many replicas that look the part ,I would really love to get one fully functional. That spotting scope that everyone is dismantleing , where is that thing made , i shouild contact them about there parts and pieces??? Maybe those prism will work? how close are the sizes? Your right the first priorty is the "cnc alum replica " ill use it as a study to create and reseach building the functional one... Untill i have a good lens source. It will take some time for the casting mold to be made anyway. I did open up the threads a little so when builders paint them the threads work a little better , but the pitch is still the same. I should see the casting sample come in this week for the counter,,, if it looks ok i can pull the blaster trigger on that item. The internal metal piece can be stamped and "eagled". The front plactic part can be molded fairly quick... This is easy compared to this m19 telescope.. Speaking of auctions ive never heard of a star wars auction with real stuff... They did it with the star trek props and i should have gone ... Yes ! the condition is fantastic,,, I had to strape off some paint on the front screw heads to take it apart AGGGGG ,,, had to be done. I keep it laid out on my RD desk locked away so no one loses anything for me! LOL Ill will spend the next week or so drawing the scope in prep for the mold making and cnc.
  4. Wonder if they would be cheaper in volume???
  5. We need to go into the prism grinding buisness ! .LOL
  6. Nice modifications !
  7. Anyone know anything about some spotting scope that has some prisims in it ??? Do they fit?
  8. Yes, help is always good . Everyone that follows this stuff has been a great influence. What kind of plastic parts,,, does he make prisims? Would be nice to see through this one... It would bring it to life! Henry , Leave it to you to notice the super fine threads . Very tricky to make well . Aluminum tends to gall very easy... Whoever had to do that by hand that deep in the tube was a good machinist. There was no cnc back then! Where did all the original guns and props from the film vanish too??? wheres the horde
  9. I am hitting a brick wall trying to get real prisms made.... the casting will take time, 6 months or so . It will be solid ,ill have to machine out the Id..... I have been toying with the notion of useing opposing mirrors to allow vision through.?????? Any thoughts? Anyone? Would be interesting to know what the military paid for these during WW2... Ive been drawing up the scope all day today . I trying to figure out how to divide up the operations , there is alot of contours and blends . This scope is a little more challenging than the 38 . M19 has the side socket that is offset.... The alum version may require some filler before painting. I have discovered that builders love to have finish work and more assembly options than i thought .... Most i my future stuff will alllow for that.. The kits get the most views.. I have started seeing tons of completed scopes and cylinder builds , im very impressed at there diversity and ingenuity ... Some of the weathering is very good... I want the casting to be as real as possible , There looking into casting it in brass! they told me not to get my hopes up because the minimums were very large. It may be zinc or alum . I should know more about that when the casting company has the quote back to me. I dont want the replica to cost what a vintage one costs LOL . These were high tech stuff back in the 40s ,,, I believe they are still high tech . I dont think most modern scopes are made as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I going to push the aluminum version to get things going , ill start a new blog on my site at warmachinepaintball.com for the m19 as soon as i get some pics .... Any input is welcome
  10. Fayetteville,,, I have family still there... Tons of pawn shop there that get all the soldiers gear LOL ,..Keep your eyes open the stuff pops up when you least expect.
  11. Thought you may enjoy that... Thanks for the your input and advice. Great big pictures , wish i could post more. Did you notice the wire i used in the metalmite is the left over vintage resistor wire i cut off .... So it could be 50/ 60 years old .
  12. LOL why ,,,,,,,, hell build yours too???? It will take another couple months to do all my parts.... I have started the magazine well today, the push release and the latch. Ill try to post those pic this weekend. Got to tackle the grip frame assembly in a week or so... Im just very happy to get m19 scope so i can start the casting processs....(takes 3month to make molds and produce) Im going to cnc a alum kit too it will not take as long to complete. The casting will be primo and one piece body, the alum kit will be like my m38 kit. That will help alot of builders complete there assemblies and should be fairly realistic also. On a weirder note i stopped at a estate sale at lunch and found 20 sterling mags for 10 bucks Crazy!!! there a little rusty but ill get them cleaned up one day
  13. Ive got it apart but havent gone that deep,,, may not ??? what do you think?
  14. I did post a few new pictures on the http://www.warmachinepaintball.com/blog/page/2/ Just finished up the rear caps and started the internal bolt... I'm not making the bolt complete just the parts that will show. Don't want anyone thinking it real, and im going to use it to screw the mag well and the grip frame to the body.... I think it will make it a lot easier than hoping everyone building one of these things can tig weld.......LOL Got A M19 telescope today ,,, starting measuring and prepping it for the casting I'm going to make... I'm very thankful to everyone that help with acquiring these. ill post more pictures and the disassembly ....
  15. Maybe a slight bit off in the head, maybe eccentric but im having a great time with it .......... Its very interesting I love the world input on these creations.. So much stuff yet to build.
  16. Not sure there is a fair price anymore??? lol Maybe 4000.00 ?
  17. You think it others would like separates parts for the power cyl? I did have a lot of people wanting the kit version,, it out sells the completed ..
  18. If anyone wants to sell there m19,,, im offering a $3500.00 for one in complete condition.... Maybe this will get some attention! LOL
  19. Wonderful build,,, Turned out very nice.. Alot of time went into that !!!!! http://www.warmachinepaintball.com/
  20. Great build reference, i cant wait to start my armor build. You have been a great help to alot of members i see.
  21. Great insight Slyfoxy on the m19 project, ill look into having a prism ground and made functional. It would be a great challenge for sure. Be great to speak with you or anyone from these posts, i love hearing the suggestions or production needs... Thanks for the encouragement with the cylinder project,, i will keep improving the technique to produce them and endeavor to further the art . Brian Your stuff looks fantastic ! keep it up , if i can help let me know! If anyone in this post has not sent me there address yet! Imgoing to send a sample of my metalmite next week so ??? hurry up If anyone sells anything from there collection,,, You know I'm alwaysinterested. They will be put to good use especially if you sell a m19!LOL
  22. Now I have to make a Metalmite Flux capacitor
  23. You are so right about the two or three thousandths ,, in the machine world + - .003 to .005 thou is normal tolerances.. I am enjoying what I'm hearing from all over the world about this build. I just want to make nice stuff that provides fun and enjoyment... I appreciate the time everyone across the planet has spent with me on these builds... Aaron I believe there is a lot of people that would love to find that radar rack... If i found one i would build a power supply and try to build a tube guitar amp out of it...LMAO (then cut it up for my e11)
  24. Nice collection! I have a few of the 5.4 like you have . So the one everyone wants are 5mm or 5.4 . The 5.4 looks a little to fat, maybe? bigger than the ones in the radar tube manifold??? I scaled that assembly, you sure they are 5.4 Oh God, the blaster build is intense!!! I hope my armor building days are easier. LOL
