  1. Hey Vern, I'm using your bracket tutorial and yours, like many, have the loops of the bracket above the height of the 2" gray pipe. Look at the grab from esb and see how high the detonator is on the belt. The only way this would happen is if the clip is lower then the tube height. right? I'm I missing something. thanks for your feedback! Picture here: ------------
  2. I'm building my own brackets out of 1 inch aluminum and Im in need of general length, hole locations, etc. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Troops!
  3. what about white ballistic nylon? I've seen this material used a lot.
  4. Looking at many different builds and I've seen both white and black under straps. I know white is canon for ANH, but what about ESB TKs? Can I use black instead of white? What are pro and cons if any? Thanks Troops.
  5. even better!!! thanks
  6. All pictures including screen grabs from the movie, show the biceps lower then the bells. I have a clear screen grab of TK without hooks. (episode 5 during "Luke it's a trap" seen)
  7. bicep strap hooks are not required for esb build. All pictures including some screen grabs from the movie, show the biceps lower then the bells and no hooks, therefore shoulder bell straps should not be visible.
  8. On October 5th, 2015 i received my big brown box. My first steps... Filing and trimming: You will be removing/cleaning up lots of return edges and trim lines, so do yourself a favor and purchase a "large coarse half round file". 90% of all my filing has been done with the large half-round file. Create nice curves and remove material quickly. I used a dremels for hard to reach details but it can melt the plastic quickly, so be careful. I used small needle files to square off teeth and forearm details only. Finishing the edges: Use 100 grit sandpaper to clean up file marks, 320, and wet sand, buff with Novus Plastic Clean #3 then followed by #2 (this stuff should be in your arsenal) Gluing: You will need lots of e6000 glue (4-5 tubes). I've been using the "white" for the armor and "clear" to attach the nylon snaps. Use a respirator or glue outside - this stuff is nasty but very easy to work with. The glue will cure differently depending on how much airflow. I found that plastic parts should cure for 24 hours before unclamping and cleanup. The snaps cured within 12-24 hours. When the glue dries. Score the edge with an knife and buff/rub/peel off the remainder with a towel or micro fiber cloth. During this process you will create lots of heat, so don't rub in one place too long or you will melt the armor or cover strip. Clamps and Magnets: This will determine how many pieces you can glue and work on at the same time. I had.. Clamps: (7) small clamps Magnets: (14) 1/2" rare earth magnets for the cover strips and (10) 1.25 for the support strips on the inside. 9. I'm going with flat green for now. bubble lens are way too distorted anyhow. so it works out. cheers!
  10. look once more...the 5th photo down you can see curved highlight on the left lens.
  11. the first full mask photo has flat lens and the second has bubble lens (you can see curved highlight on the left) that's why I posted the link to show the difference. Honestly, I can't see through the bubble lens and would prefer flat. Can you use something other then green? I thought I read it can be dark lens or greens lens? Any info would be helpful Vern! Thanks!
  12. Yes. Thanks, There is another thread that shows the pattern. I'm drilling at 1/16
  13. what exactly is the ruling on green bubble eyes for ESB TK? I know there was one used in ESB. Any strict guidelines for centurion? http://www.starwarshelmets.com/original-ESB-stormtrooper-armor-helmets.htm
  14. Good luck on the build... im construction the same armor. the nice thing about the am 2.0 is most of it has been trimmed already. The file has been my most used tool so far. here are some links to help you out... they helped me out a lot. Helmet build: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/26301-ne-helmet-build/ Link from Trooper Gear to help with the ears: http://www.mytkarmor.com/Ear%20Piece%20Build%20Tips.htm Great AM build from Bro: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/32531-navajo-bros-am-20-stunt-build/
  15. I've been using e6000 to assemble the armor. I was going to use abs plates with e6000. Is nylon a better solution? how easy is it to replace if needed. I like the cleaner look of abs snaps. thoughts?
  16. Hey Bro... I've been using your threads to build my am 2.0. So far so good... My limbs look great and I'm waiting on some supplies before gluing. I'm starting to look at the chest plate (AM 2.0 chest plate is screen accurate as far as I know - they changed the design) I have a few questions sir: Could you help me with the shoulder strap placement? Is there a standard. Centrion etc? How much did you trim from each side? The back plate straps are wider then the front plate. should they be the same width? How much room needs to be between you and the chest plate? I tried pm'ing you but you are not excepting messages at this time. thanks!
  17. I JUST COPIED THE PHOTO... GOOD LUCK. I USED TIN SNIPS AND A COARSE FILE TO FINE TUNE, 10 MINUTES.
  18. OK silk gloves - agreed. The burning question in what pattern are they stitched? I see two 1/16 or 1/8 holes in the top center. anybody have a pattern available. cheers.
