  1. I'm by no means an expert but to add to what Tim said, most of the cracks and damage that may happen should be able to be fixed with a little abs paste, there are quite a few amazing repair jobs that I've seen on here that have been done with a couple applications of abs paste. Just keep a bunch of the scrap abs from you kit squirreled away for the day you will need it.
  2. I missed our badge run by two weeks....BUUUT was able to pick up some anyways the guy in charge of our merch had ordered a bunch more.. I'm pretty sure if I let my partner know that I compared her to the emperor she really would shoot lightning out of her fingers...
  3. X 2 on that one. That is the beauty of e6000 Bucket is looking awesome. I see two attached ears!!
  4. Have fun at the con, I can't wait for our big one here (it's in Nov)
  5. I got the same dark lenses stuff from TB as well. I cut both of my eyes into individual lenses. I actually didn't bend them at all, there is a slight gap at the bottom of the lenses however it's not noticeable unless you are "nose to nose" and looking down the lenses to see it. It's literally 2 mm at most. I think will help with ventilation and potential fogging issues anyways.. edit: I also added small abs support brackets to the Tnuts that I used to spread out the pressure that was on the nuts. I did all of this back in Jan and everything is holding up fine.
  6. No problem. Worse comes to worse you can always trim more off the biceps..I was trying to avoid that as it would have ended up getting rid of the nice little ridge that the cover strip sits on. It is so much easier to trim stuff off then add stuff on
  7. Hey Dave, I'm apparently "skinny" (I like to maintain I'm normal sized....) as well. 5'8 150-155lbs ish. I had the same problem with skinny arms in my kit. For the forearms/biceps I had everything trimmed for the standard 16mm(or 15mm can't remember off top of my head). The biceps were HUGE on me (about 1.5" of gap) All I did was add a little bit of 1 inch (I think it was 1 inch) crafting foam and it centered the biceps nicely. You can actually see the difference in my first "full kit up" shot and then my photo's I sent for approval. The only difference was adding foam.
  8. BBB day is the best! I just completed my AP build, had a ton of fun with it. Good luck with your build!
  9. Thanks all for the kind words Yeah the hand plates are the ABS ones, and do look too thick. I'm leaning towards getting my stuff together for EIB then Centurion if I can manage it. The hand plates are in the process of being replaced a set of latex ones. Just because I got the tk accepted doesn't mean I'm finished with it yet!
  10. Thanks, I'm going to post up the photo's I sent in for submission in a bit. There is stuff that I will definitely need to change for trooping. Mainly better securing the shins to prevent side to side movement, how the helmet sits as well as cutting behind the knee area. It may not be as pretty as some of what people have been doing here recently but I'm happy how it turned out, especially since this was the first thing like this I have ever done. The top 4 I sent in with the initial application and the GML wanted me to fix the TD height, screw angle, as well as the angle on the ammo pouch. The bottom 3 are from the 2nd successful attempt. On a side, the 2nd pictures were taken with the assistance of the gf, which was huge help lol. And the 2nd attempt below. and forgot these ones!
  11. I've also been lurking. It's looking good, your trimming looks good too.
  12. I had to make adjustments to my position of the ammo pack my self. When I was following Tony's Anovos build and the knee ammo pack he had the edge about 1/4" from the end of that ones side. I actually took so much off the thigh that it changed how far back I had to drill the mounting hole :/ lol
  13. Haha thanks! I'm actually not the first with the new AP kit. There is a guy in our garrison that got his AP kit at the same time and finished it about a month ago, he just doesn't post up anything.

  15. Just got my letter this morning TK-21196 it is!
  16. Haha, yeah I've kinda been MIA lately, haven't been home much. I managed to fix a few things, still waiting on the ab plate. I sent pictures off for approval, however needed to fix a couple things. The GML wanted me to fix my td (there was some issues with it, for some reason the angle the screws/sitting on belt I just couldn't get right.) and to make the angle on the knee ammo pouch. I've just done the fixes requested by the GML and resubmitted. So hopefully with a little luck I will pass muster and will have a shiny new TK number soon...
  17. It's not that late...... It's looking good. It will come together bit by bit.
  18. I don't actually own a heat gun. I did a nice little bath for the very tips of the shoulder bridges and it worked perfectly.
  19. I really like the TM hero kit.....and I'm definitely not thinking about another tk already...
  20. Yeah thanks for that Aaron, I may try that tonight. It shouldn't take a lot as they are "almost" there. . . .I'm getting all excited lol. There are quite a few things that I want to fix (cutting out behind the knees, armor bite areas, some extra sanding here and there etc) but it's stuff that can be done after approval. Plus it's stuff I want to have others with TK's to see in person before I go cutting.
  21. Well ugh, I had all this typed out but was an error with the computer. Thanks for the recommendations. I've actually "fixed" a few of those things already, namely the butt plate and the arms. I added to more straps to the sides of the buttplate/kidney plate and that completely eliminated the flaring out. It looks WAAAAY better. For the arms, I've actually shortened the elastics in the forearms, as well as added a different snap plate in the shoulder bells. With the little foam padding I added to the biceps it pretty much eliminated the visible elastics, the picture I took with the Ipad doesn't really do it justice. I'm going to take a set of pictures (just got a tripod) and see. If it's still a problem I think I will take your advice on putting them on the inner bit. As for the shoulder straps...I'm paranoid of applying heat lol. I've got the tools to do it, going to practice on some scrap first. They actually already bent they just need a little more (garrison mate did them for me at the last armor party ) I think I may play around with some scraps tonight.
  22. I just finished attaching the holster, which was the last major "build" bit I needed to do. I've fixed a lot of the small fitment issues. I added some foam in the shins to help keep them in place, and it worked great. I just finished another test fit and walk around with everything on. With the minor things I've changed it looks 100% better (IMO). It is also a lot more comfortable. I really need to cut out some of the shins/thighs in the rear (as mentioned by Coastertk), but I want to get basic approval first. As it stands I think I could get basic approval now. However I need to wait until the tripod I ordered comes in, or until the gf comes over and can help with some pictures within the next week. The second screw may look a bit out of place, however that is due to my photo taking abilities. It actually is the same distances, and looks fine in person.
