Knockerbot large AP build
supernaut11 replied to Knockerbot's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Just so I'm clear.. Are you saying the plan is to leave the plastic that is supposed to be trimmed off and instead reshape into place and then cut your notch? -
We have a winner.

http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/38-getting-started-read-this-first/ Hi Roberto, try this page out. There's a lot of information there and it can be overwhelming but I'm sure it will answer most of your questions. I'm just starting out myself, but I can tell you that this page has been invaluable! Good luck. -

Thanks for the update, Mark. We're anticipating an awesome kit and we appreciate you wanting to get it right, even if it means a slight delay. And when I say "we", I mean my brother and I, but I'm sure the guys here all feel the same! We can't wait for the box! -

No joke! Me, too! I can't imagine how the Anovos guys must feel. They're supposed to start shipping next. For their sake, I hope it's true. -

I went untrimmed all the way, with all the extras except for the rubber hand guards..... I'm not even sure why I left those out now... Save some lunch money maybe? -

My thoughts, exactly! Although I'm seriously considering pursuing a Kylo Ren next.. Maybe there will be a 501st list for that, too! -

Pyrates AP Build and Journey to The 501st

My brother and I are both waiting on our AP armor.. We're just a couple of 40-something year olds dying to be stormtroopers. I honestly don't think we've been this excited since we were kids waiting for Christmas morning. We're looking forward to following this thread and watching everyones progress along with ours! This is going to be a "blast"! Cheers from Texas! -

Hello, my name is Eddie.... and I'm waiting for my AP kit, too... It's good to have a support group. -
You can reach ATA at this email, ATAworks@yahoo.com. I've ordered from TrooperBay and I have been completely satisfied. I've heard nothing but good things about him on this site. I don't have any experience with the speaker systems so maybe someone else can chime in about that. Good luck and thanks for serving!
-
I will second that. I build scale models and Tamiya is the only paint that I will run through my airbrush for both primer and base coats. And the rattle cans have excellent nozzles and produce very good results, too. I can't vouch for the durability, though. When it comes to the models, they're finished, displayed and not touched!
-
Now that I'm not sure of.. The only reason I was aware of who did the voiceover is because I saw it posted on the 501st Facebook page. I would hope that she got screen credit for that. Either way that is very cool.
-
It was just her voice.. Very quick scene. In fact, I whispered to my brother, "Female trooper!" and he didn't catch it.
-
Yes, I caught that! Her name is Verona Blue. She's been a member of the 501st for 16 years. Pretty awesome. Scroll down on the link and you'll see the post. https://www.facebook.com/The501stLegion/

Tk boots
supernaut11 replied to Stormtrooper joe's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
I'm glad you mentioned the sizing. I wear a 9, Nike as well and was contemplating just ordering my size, figuring my feet are somewhat narrow anyway. This helps my decision! -

TFA vs. Classic TK armor
supernaut11 replied to Dreamdasher's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
My brother and I were in the same boat as you at first. Ultimately, we chose the classic TK for a few reasons.. One, it's what we've always known a stormtrooper to be since we were 4 and 8 years old in 77'. Those frowns really stuck and made an impression on my four year old mind. I guess because there were so many of them! Two, it's readily available with years of build threads and help on this site. And three, the unknown of when TFA kits will even be available and for how much. Initially, we were set on TFA kits, we even have helmets on the way. So, like Paul said, we'll eventually do both! Someday... maybe, (we'll see). In the meantime, we wait for our AP kits and gather supplies, most of which I already have. And honestly, we couldn't be happier with our decision and we're ready to get this going! -
It is adjustable, however I'm not sure how large it will go. I ordered a helmet in September with the plan of getting the full suit when it becomes available. My thinking was that one, it was still in tier 1, and two, Anovos has mentioned that a kit minus the helmet would be an option so I figured why not. Things have changed since then.. A TFA kit is just on the back burner for the time being because who knows when it will even be available? And I'm pretty sure even the first tier pricing might be beyond what I'm willing to pay. So now I'm waiting on my TK armor from AP and I can't wait. And if a TFA kit never happens for me.. I'll have a pretty sweet helmet for my loft:)
