  1. ABS for sure. They don't have the puffy look of the OT ones. These look pretty similar to the ones that KW makes for his Animated Clones in terms of execution. Here's a link to Kev's FS thread with the pauldron (scroll down a bit): http://501stclonetroopers.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=16351
  2. Anyone get a screenshot of the Trooper with the DLT-19 from the Ep 8 of S4?
  3. As current DL of the CTD and CO of COR, I highly recommend you visit us at 501stclonetroopers.net and Clones of the Republic on the RL forums. Plus, I know your GCO pretty darn well, so just know you've now been tasked with building a Clone. Just don't build a red one. Those are the worst I went back and did some fill of the old pics. If there's anything missing that you'd specifically want some more info on, please let me know. Shimming and sludging will be the big techniques required to do seamless armor. Your forearms will get quite a workout from all the sanding as well, so prepare to get massively ripped, Popeye style.
  4. It did come as separate parts that I had to size and join. Originally I was going to have a trap door using the side vertical indent but decided to make it permanent. Should I fix the ab buttons and make the buckle circle into an oval first?
  5. Thanks, mate! Gigantic thanks to Hass Dardo and Jim for designing and building the first kit, Walt for making it pretty and fixing a lot of the bugs, Francois and Imperialboots for making a brand new boot, everyone that has questioned, encouraged, or debated, Dark CMF for beginning and Daetrin and Tolo for finishing the CRL discussion, Darth Aloha and team for guiding the process of approving and publishing the CRL, Rich Heffernan for help with pics, and Chris Moody and Jessica Purkey of the 70th Explorers for cutting the pics out in Photoshop. It takes a Legion to raise a TK. This wasn't possible without contributions from each of you. Thank you. I'm very happy to see this completed; I suppose I need to get to work on fixing my pictures and building a bit better step-by-step guide to help anyone else that wants to build the Animated TK!!
  6. Thanks again for the opportunity to help on it! It's been a fun costume to figure out and wear! Good eyeballs, Gary.
  7. The shoulder bell pic is mis-formatted Should there be more mention of "Animated-style armor" where appropriate? There are quite a few differences from the Movie TKs where a movie armor piece wouldn't be appropriate. Remove references to FX armor from "Special Notes" otherwise, looks very strong! I appreciate everyone's work, input, and debate on helping to bring this to life!!
  8. I use a 2" elastic strap glued to the ab and velcroed to the near top of the chest in my Clone and it's worked out great for years. I figure I'd do the same for this one. Just be sure to use the fuzzy side on the inside of the chest armor so you don't ruin your under suit
  9. It's L2 now, so hopefully the point is moot. Either way, the additional gradient shading, or weathering more accurately portrays what is rendered on screen, rather than an interpretation of what we feel it should be, so it makes sense to be included at the secondary levels. The use of the term "subtle weathering" is also a bit more understandable to most costumers. While my personal preference would be to make it mandatory at all levels, it's not my CRL as it belongs to the Legion and the FISD. For the Empire!
  10. It might be a good idea to allow the dark green lenses as well. The imperative thing being the obscuring of the eyes, and either will look black once worn anyway. The green messes with me, but others may prefer it.
  11. Did a test troop with my Rebels friends the other night. Everything held up well, which is great. I want to add a strap to keep the chest from sliding back, but other than that, it was a very easy suit to wear..!
  12. The pauldrons I've seen are Black, Orange, white, and black with unit symbol (Thrawn's personal guards from last year). I have not seen an animated pauldron made as of yet, so I don't know if you want to allow ANH pauldrons or wait until a proper one can be made.
  13. You already know my opinion on this..! Weather!! Weather!! Weather!!
  14. Part of the defining characteristics of the animated style is that all the characters have a bit of porcelain-like weathering while still being glossy. Very much unlike the Clones where they are dirty and matte. Likewise, I used the Rubies stormtrooper blaster and did the cleanup, including adding a proper D ring. It's readily available and has the animated look. At $12.99 at stores right now, it's an easy mod until or unless someone builds a custom one. Hope this helps the conversation along!
