  1. So I just saw this posted 2 minutes ago on Anovos's Facebook page...

ANOVOS Hi Matt, thank you for that. We are being careful to be more clear about shipping vs delivery. For example, the Original Trilogy Stormtrooper armor is currently on the way from the warehouse to our fulfillment center. From there, soft goods will be added to the boxes in the appropriate size, and then the entire package will ship to customers. The first kits *should* (always an estimate because of transportation delays, acts of God, etc.) be in customer hands in January (if not sooner). Hope this helps---we know the anticipation is unbearable!

It would appear that they aren't even to the shipping warehouse yet so looks like December might be out.smile emoticon

Yeah, this whole December shipping thing is starting to unravel. Damn, I was so sure shipping notice would be sent this week. Doesn't make much difference because it's gonna take me months to build anyway but still...
  2. Some guy said in a post that a friend said that his OT TK shipped... not worth screen capturing until actual proof.

The game of telephone is dangerous :)

    -Eric

Darth Aloha the wise has spoken! Still no word of that mysterious friend who had received confirmation of his OT TK being shipped... I wish it was true but another false alarm! It this rate when it really does start shipping, no one will believe it
  3. Anovos was also posting messages this weekend saying they have to get approval from the "Licensor" before sending out the December newsletter. So hopefully once its approved we can get updates?

That seems to be the case. If Disney has to sign off on everything they release SW related, even newsletters, imagine what the process is like for actual products!
  4. Allow me to bring some positivism to these proceedings guys!

Maybe I'm reading too much into this but hey, fun little thing I just saw. A shipping update will be sent soon according to Anovos.

What's the last time they used the term "shipping update"? I'm glad you asked, see below!

  5. No, I've had bigger fish to fry, as they say, but I'll be hobby-ing a lot during the winter holidays. According to others before me on here, it should work out great tho. I'd do several light coats (rather than one thick coat) until you're happy with the finish

Thanks Scott! I ended up ordering the angelus one as the price was similar. I did however buy the glossy one Still looks pretty good though IMO :)
  6. you can always add more coats of the same brand product? TK boots are actually not super shiny?

Thanks Vern! I did a coat with the finisher and it is quite glossy! It does feel very nice though and a lot more durable. The paint still felt kinda sticky even though it was dry but now it's all smooth and dry to the touch.

Spray paint, plasti dip spray... why don't people just take the advice I've been sharing for almost 5 years?

ANGELUS LEATHER PAINT, and ANGELUS LEATHER SEALER are two products that make boot painting easy.

Hey Vern! Advice needed here. I ordered the normal finish, not the matte. I only realised when I received it that I had picked the wrong one. Do you think it's ok?

  8. Oh wow I had no idea KWdesigns is assembling the helmets, that's great news! How do you know this out of curiosity? I was worried they'd be assembled in China...

Also, I see you're also in Montreal! :D

Well... Knowing is a big word but there was a picture of hemets being assembled posted on their instagram with the Anovos hashtag. These helmets have an eye shape that is consistent with released images of the Anovos helmets. There are a few other things but that's mostly how I reached this conclusion. Now this is in no way confirmed but I'd bet it's not too far off!

  9. lol I just got a confirmation for the keychain. I admit my heart rate spiked; the email summary on an iPhone before you open it ends right at "...for the following items:" lol they know what they're doing to us! :)

I think the kits came pre trimmed in boxes from China. The helmets are being assembled by KWdesigns and will ship in a separate box. All that's left is for Anovos to match the boxes with the corresponding soft pieces and then they can ship but the process will be similar to what we see for the FO helmets. About a week from creating the label to first shipments. First wave will start next week and the first kits may be in the hands of a few lucky buyers in late December...

  10. The right eye shape looks smoothed out just like the Anovos. There's still a small bulge but it's not as prononced as in the originals, so it looks like the real thing.

This was posted by KWdesigns, who is well known here... It would make sense that Anovos would have retained their services for building the helmets and suits, don't you think?

  11. Oh great!!! I'm in Canada so we don't have access to all the same brands but those are available at my home depot :)

Thank you so much for your videos, as I'm getting ready for my kit, this is a great learning opportunity! I'm not that good at reading build threads, even though I'm still reading some. But watching or being done like that, in real time, that's really cool!!!

  12. I have a couple of guys buying the new Anovos TK kit, i am going to have my friend come over and we will build his kit. He already has a AP kit and is thinking of turning it into a death trooper after we build his new Anovos kit. Since he is movie accurate size 5'10 i60 i will film building his kit and show the correct size outer shims.

I have never used lexon scissors, i have always used either a razor or tin snips, once i got my newest tin snips i don't do the score and snap as much. it all depends on how thick the armor is, i have built a RS and it is super easy to cut that kit out.

I have an Anovos, first week of the sale coming so I'll be watching that video of you make it for sure!!!

So, thin snips eh? I'll look into it :)

  13. At this point I feel better and their customer service has been great today.

This is their final response and it sounds like they understand our concerns and are willing to work with us.

"I do understand this, and I thank you for bringing your concerns to my attention so that I am able to address those as best as I am able.

To assist you with this, we can certainly hold the shipment until new photos of the final product can be taken and made available publicly.

Otherwise, should you wish to have the items shipped and they do not meet your expectations, we can certainly take back the items (as long as they are in re-sellable condition) and refund accordingly." ANOVOS.

Also, does anybody want pictures from the Disney Launch Bay? I will be there tomorrow.

So it looks like they really are about to ship... Uh, interesting
  14. Wow, that was fast. They already replied...

"We have been sending out newsletter updates which feature pictures of pieces."

I responded saying that I already received the newsletter pictures and that this didn't answer my question. Again, will we get to see the complete final product before they ship?

Yeah, they are pretty noncommital in their answers... The more I think about it, the more I think that they may have talked a bit too openly in the past in interviews and on forums and that has come back to haunt them... So don't expect more that a line that doesn't really says much and keep looking for those newsletters...
  15. Yea document building one with all the movie specs, that would be awesome. If I didn't stink in videos id make some myself.

I've been watching your videos, I'm up to 16 now :)

I was wondering, I've been thinking about buying lexan scissors but you make scoring and snapping look so easy!!! I'm not all that confident about my skills with the knife, would toi recommend going with the scissors in that case?
