I've sent them an email, we'll see how that goes!As I have said before I purchased a Spock Star Trek tunic from Anovos and it was exceptional quality. They are trying to marry the price point with quality I have no doubt. They also want to be in this long term, if people can spend a bit more and get armor that is fan made but higher quality then Anovos won't last long in the market place. I will ride this one till the end and see what I get. It's is certainly their big sell with world wide shipping (other items are only US) so it really I does need to be a good product for their reputation.
Has anybody emailed them re the change to PVC? Interesting to hear what they might say
-
I'm really torn about this change...
It really was an impulse buy for me and I know I can't afford other kits since you have to buy all the soft parts separately which adds up to way more than I'm willing to spend.
I don't want to sound cheap but I'm simply not sitting on huge piles of cash at this point.
Though it is unconventional, there are makers who do PVC armors and those don't necessarily look like crap. It looks like PVC is whiter and glossier thus "idealized" and some people prefer that, which is a matter of opinion.
I guess I just hope this change was made for the good reasons and not as a compromise on quality. Some part of me is afraid that those armor will be viewed as the black sheep of the bunch... I hope I'm wrong, I really do. It would help if they would show the intended product to members here so we could get hands on impressions...
Edited for typo.

I kinda like the fact that PVC is "whiter" than ABS. Will those with PVC armor look funny when trooping next to ABS troopers?

So... Anyone knows how long it takes on average for kits to be available?
I can't believe I missed it!!!!

DD's email went straight to junk mail... STUPID GMAIL!!!
-
For real? It says out of stock for me now... Sold out already?
-
Thanks! I'll watch out for that email then!A quick heads-up on the Doopydoos "email me when this is in stock" deal, David, when you get the email, order it immediately. I waited 4 hours, and they were all gone again, it's just that quick. Also, be prepared to hurry up and wait, (up to 6 weeks), and don't expect much in the way of communication. It will get to you, though. It's a nice kit, and a fun build.

You had me at PEW!Hey ya,
I don't have a 1:1, just going off of dimensions and pictures I find online. The Disney's pipe is 83% scale in diameter but they're the right length at 18.25 to 18.5 inches and most parts are 1:1 (rounded rectangle handle vs original round, but accurate length/width). And you can easily upgrade the tiny parts with those from a pipe kit. We'll have official feedback at some point (idk the protocol). But most 1:1 resin/rubber models don't go PEW PEW!😉
So hard to resist a blaster that "works"

I bought one too but I haven't told my gf yet... I was thinking about it being a surprise but I don't know whether it's such a good idea!
She's a total SW freak like me and she's told me a few times it would be cool to have a stormtrooper armor as a display piece but maybe I should tell her before it arrives?
She's good with building too so I won't be in this alone but IDK... Surprise or no surprise?

Hi there!I got an ANH Doopy Hasbro conversion kit and it came with a hollowed-out counter (to fit over the old one), and with a scope front piece. I'd be surprised if Doopy wouldn't give you both a full counter and scope with an ANH completion kit (my ESB promo pipe kit from DVH sure came with a scope)
You're the one who made me consider the new Disney blaster! Do you own a full scale blaster and if so, do you think the new Disney one will be a worthy alternative?
-
Thanks T-Jay! I've registered to the mailing list so we'll see... Thanks for pointing that out!
I've seen Dday's blasters and I'd buy from him without hesitation but I was hoping to get a blaster for under 100$.

First I'm sorry if this has been asked already, if it has, I couldn't find it!!
I'm one of the newbies who bought an Anovos kit and I'm looking at building a blaster. I've considered getting the new Disney blaster that just came out because it's innexpensive and you know, it's already fitted with electronics. However, there's no kit for converting it yet and it's a little bit small compared to the real thing. I haven't ruled it out yet and it might turn out to be a great first blaster but I'd like to see more build thread and opinions before committing on it.
So, I've been looking and the DD kit and of course it's out of stock! I was considering getting the pipe kit but first I'd like to make sure of a few things.
Is it me or there are several things missing from the pipe kit? From what I can tell, I'd have to buy the scope and the Hengstler counter separately, on top of the pipe and scope rail.
Am I missing something or is that correct? If so, since I have a few months before BBB, should I take my chances and wait for the complete kit?
BTW, I know about the other GREAT options offered by members here but at some point, I have to stick to my budget for this which is as low as possible while still ending up with a nice blaster...
So, what do you think?

502nd Legion : Vader's rejects!!!
But really, I'm not worried. Anovos seems to have a pretty good track record and good people on board!

It feels so cool that we are all in the same boat! There will probably be so many new build threads when this ships that the boards might explode!
I can't wait to get more concrete details on this kit though. Like a video preview and a more precise shipping date... I'm in here every day, many times a day, hoping for an update from GotMaul or a new piece of information, it's like I'm going crazy!!!!

Hi Spycee!
I'm looking foward to it!
However, unless Anovos pull off a miracle, I'll probably be dressed as Obi-Wan... So you know, don't stress out if you can't find the droids you are looking for!!!

Hi there Dr Feely Good!
-
Thanks for the advice Joseph!
So far, I've watched the TrooperBay video to get acquainted with the process, that dude makes it look easy!!!
However, I'm not sure I'll go all the way to EIB. I'm pretty confident I can put the armor together but I'm not the most handy person around. Well, scratch that, I'm pretty much all thumbs!!!
I even managed to sew right through my finger with the sewing machine during my OWK costume build!!!

Merci Tolo!
You know what? I think I remember you guys from Montreal Comiccon from two years ago...
You guys were nearby a Dr Who boot and that DeLorean photo shoot if I'm not mistaken...
-
Thanks Captain!
I did go to Comic-Con dressed as Ezio from Assassin's Creed once and it was a blast! I was very shy when people wanted to take photos but maybe the bucket will help me get in character

Hello everyone!
I'm from Montreal, Canada and I've been lurking here a few weeks! While I'm new to the trooping thing, I already have a Obi-Wan Kenobi costume that I made for Halloween last year.
Funny fact, I bought a white car earlier this year and when time came to name it, my girlfriend and I settled for "Stormy"! So, if you ever see a white Hyundai Accent with a stormtrooper decal in the hatch window in the Montreal area, that's me!!!
Like many other, I jumped at the Anovos TK kit pre-order offer, I just couldn't imagine passing on this as such a deal won't happen ever again, IMO...
So, with my dear habs out of the NHL playoffs(), the waiting game starts!
I'd be interested to know if there are other who bought the Anovos kit around here or if the are any build parties coming up this summer in the Montreal area. Maybe I'd like to see what it's like!
I'll be honnest, I'm a little bit of an introvert so I don't know if I'll ever get to muster the courage for trooping but if all goes well, who knows?
So here's my story, looking forward to learn from you all!

"Still finalizing photos of that, but we can tell you that the complete ready-to-wear version will have a lined interior and padding. The kit version does not include these features."
Interesting!
