  1. Here is a follow up for you E-6000 guys: Which E-6000 do you use? I've got a tube of the 'Clear Transparent'. Stuff feels like rubber cement while its drying. I know they also make one that looks like bondo that can be sanded when dry.
  2. Yeah, so far I like it when it isn't kicking my an impolite person.
  3. OW! My finger! Was pulling on a dry 'string' of E-6000 that was hanging between two pieces of a blaster barrel, and it snapped and whipped my fingertip. E-6000 is an adhesive that means business.
  4. Okay, thanks. I grabbed some E-6000 today. Also wound up getting PVC to construct a blaster from scratch > We'll see how well the E-6000 does for me when I get to that point. I'll keep JB Weld in mind.
  5. Yeah, just found it on the Hobby Lobby site, so they might have it. Looks like neat stuff, though. So is it consensus that E-6000 is the glue to use?
  6. Where do you get E6000? I saw you recommend it on other posts, but so far I haven't found it on the couple sites I've been browsing. Ah, here we go. I think I found their website.
  7. I'm thinking of building an E-11 Blaster from scratch and am considering materials. What kind of adhesives (glue, epoxy, etc) do you guys use for any kinds of material, like metal, plastic, PVC, etc. Things like metal to metal, plastic to plastic, plastic to metal, etc. If you had to build a blaster or some other armor prop (ANYTHING!) from scratch using whatever materials you wanted with whatever adhesive you wanted, what is your sticky of choice?
  8. You needed a reason not to? I like all the stories of how the Rubies sales people at conventions say 'other' Stormtrooper armor costs over $5k or something equally as ridiculous. If I even encounter one, I'll have to ask them for a statement about the mistreatment of its factory workers! "My armor might cost more, but at least no one died to make it!"
  9. Looks like you guys got the last of them, or at least I don't seem them listed anymore. I'm gonna sit under the dining room table and cry, now.
  10. Heh, I've had mixed feelings about going and seeing it. I probably will at some point, but for now I haven't made up my mind (unless someone wants to make a date of it! ;D ). And yeah, I'm looking forward to the 3D remakes of the six films and the live action series if just for the new outfit options we'll all have. They might also use more of the obscure ones we have little or no reference for!
  11. Wow, I'd have gone insane if I had project like that lying around for ten years that I hadn't worked on! Cool though, free armor!
  12. We're gonna end up with a whole new uniforms and armors we'll have to emulate. On the plus side, it might answer some questions about what uniforms should look like, OR open up other accessory options. The good guys always wear white!
  13. Yeah, or even taken a melee hit from a sword or other blunt weapon, and the armor is also covered in the blood from your point-blank blaster hit into the attacker. You would probably need to melt extra plastic on to where you want it to look like the attack scratched up material, without it actually cutting into your armor too much.
  14. Nice Yeah, maybe some light pin striping on the armor. Maybe a couple of flaming Ewok skulls. No spin-art, though. Oh, here's an idea, shrapnel in the armor. Just chucks of debris protruding from the chest plates. "Now with realistic battle damage!"
  15. I was trying to think of ways to make a set of armor stand out in event photos, so that you could say "Hey! Thats me!" and I realized that you could weather armor in pretty much any color. Dirt may be different color on different planets, trees and grass and other shrubbery might not always been green. And if you were involved in a close-range fight, the blood stains on your armor might not always be red, either! Some armor could be stained in grease, while others could show the scorch marks of a blaster hit. It is also starting to look to me that certain Clone Trooper commanders have different types on art on their armor, so maybe minor armor decals (in theme) would work too. I'm sure some of this is already done, anyways. Not quite certain having purple splatter all over your armor meets 501st approval, but its an interesting idea nonetheless. I dunno, just putting my thoughts down.
  16. Doctor Mom, PHd in "SIT DOWN AND EAT YOUR VEGETABLES!"
  17. Well thats no fun :/ Hopefully PayPal refunds your money, no fuss!
  18. Yeah, but he wants to put on weight, not turn into that Whopper Jr. Kid from the commercials that can't fit through doors!
  19. Jeeze, I used to get a weird feeling from playing video games all day. I remember getting dizzy after playing Duke Nukem 64 nonstop. I had originally figured at the time I was hungry from not eating, but I think later on I realized it was motion sickness. Some games just....guh, the way they present the graphics makes me woozy. Used to do the same thing with reading when I was 14. Sit down with a 400 page novel in the morning, have it finished by dinner, and realize then I was hungry from skipping lunch! I eat a small breakfast, though my father says breakfast should be a larger meal that you burn off during the day. My lunch is a decent size, though I tend to overindulge on chips. Sometimes I'll snack before dinner just to hold me over, and I usually end up eating a lot at dinner. Then sometimes desert if I feel I didn't eat too much at dinner. I haven't change my diet too much since I started exercising, but I have tried to stay to more healthier things, and less sugary snacks. I would still probably say get in some exercise. Would help put a little meat on the arms and legs, and make sure that the weight you gain doesn't contribute to health problems or something. I would also say don't try to put off eating until your stomach starts chewing on itself. Try and eat three meals consistently. Maybe snack at some point.
  20. Supposedly MY head is an XL, unless I measured it wrong. Annoys me, cause smaller head = more stuff in the bucket.
  21. See if it lets you pay through PayPal. I used to HATE PayPal and refused to use it, then I had to because it was the only way some sellers accepted money. Then one time I won an auction, and still hadn't received my win after a couple weeks, and never received a response from the seller. I reported it to PayPal and they had my money back in a couple days.
  22. I've seen a guy on here buy a hardhat and remove the adjustable headband inside for use in the Stormtrooper bucket. If it has a problem of sliding around, maybe a chinstrap too. Keep in mind I don't have armor yet, so feel free to contradict me!
  23. I think my normal welding goggles were a 3 or so. I used them for oxyacetylene welding since its just fire, not the awesome power of the sun.
  24. Yeah, I was thinking about buying an airbrush setup. Hobby airbrush compressors are like $200, the airbrush dealies themselves are anywere, I think most over $100. Then you need to pick if you want bottom feed, top feed, etc. Some hobby stores sell really cheap airbrush systems. Its just a can of compressed air with an airbrush nozzle on it. You can swap the nozzle thing between cans if they empty out, and you just pour the paint into the bucket on the nozzle or whatever. I would have considered that, but I figured if I bought enough cans of air, it would eventually even out to more than the cost of a normal airbrush compressor and setup. Again though, thats cans of air and you might have trouble getting those shipped overseas unless a local hobby store carries them.
  25. Are you looking for muscle or just mass? I think I was 5'9" and 180ish-lbs my last year of high school (which is funny, because there are photos of me in 10th grade where I am skinny!). I pretty much ate whatever I wanted whenever I wanted. I still adhere to that diet a bit, though I've been going easy on the junkfood lately and stick to around 165lbs (I've been running, too). If you want muscle, start with pushups, situps, running, etc. Its what I do (also why I think I didn't immediately loose weight after two months of running). If you just want to be bigger to fill out armor or something, I think McDonalds is usually a safe bet? Maybe try eating three meals a day if you don't already, I don't know. Always go back for seconds at dinner? I'm fairly certain it is easier to gain weight than lose weight. Pretty much just eat and don't work out? Then again, I'm still sure you could still fit into Stormtrooper armor skinny, you just might need to modify it a bit. Though keep in mind, I haven't written any diet books, I don't have a workout program on TV, and I still don't have armor yet.
