Star Wars Battlefront (DICE) Shock Trooper
artimorty replied to mikedwelle94's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Wow chance... That MR looks great! Just a few posts above I told Mike I was playing with the idea of turning my eFx bucket into a shocktrooper just like you have done there. I had the feeling that could be a great way to disguise the hideous gap on the mouth without having to repaint the whole thing. I've just done the ear thinning and changing the lenses to bubble ones. How have you fill the gap on the chin in yours? This is very inspirating.
Mike, sorry to read you're giving away your helmet... I liked the badass look with the painted armor, but I think once you start you always want to improve, so that would be for the best. Have you anything in mind for a weapon? -
DVH Pipe Build with Extras
artimorty replied to I'm Batman's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Really beautifull. It's something to be proud of. Somehow I like the light weathered you get on the piece, just on the scope... Sure i will be getting back to this thread once I start to build mine.
Just a question... I see in one of your pictures you've used the inner barrel thing (I'm also waiting for one of those)... Once installed and painted is it noticeable through some of the barrel vent holes? Or just through the ejection port? At least it will add extra weight on the cannon area making the blaster heavier to the front, more like the real thing I guess. Anyway, you know it's there!
Great job. -
I hope rogue one to be new canon...

Mine... It's going shiny and bright. I've got a eFX to go shock trooper if I dare... Anovos's would be as ANH as I could get...

DVH Pipe Build with Extras

That looks great to me. Nice work. Thanks for sharing last pictures! -
I might be wrong, I often am, but waiting for more than six or seven or ten months isn't a great deal on this business... TM, ATA, AP and the rest (with probably the expensive exception of RS or the polemic one of SDS) take your order on a waiting list with not much information about when you wil be served. So, complaining about anovos kit getting more or less on time and taking in count the scale of their production and shipping process is just unfair to me. Let's give them the chance to stick to their word and start criticism when a real delay happens.

I've already seen it twice, and the FO troopers refer to each other as FN-xxxxx... (First designating Finn and second on a radio contact with a trooper guarding a path in Takodana, the one Rey shoots first). I didn't catch any TK number, code or designation (if there was any I didn't get it). Have anyone heard of any?

It's me or the mics tips on those buckets in the second picture seem to be molded on the same pull? Is that normal? Shouldn't them be separated pieces?

Star Wars Battlefront (DICE) Shock Trooper
artimorty replied to mikedwelle94's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Wooooowww
Now waiting for an AnOvOs kit to arrive (sooner or later). I already have a eFx bucket on the shelf and always wanted to mod it to hide the hideous gap on the frown... This project is giving me a good idea to upgrade it into one of this shock trooper!
Following this! -
Not an expert here. But I have modded two child masks into pretty decent helmets (one a hasbro talking clone trooper helmet and the other a rubie's stormtrooper bucket) and in both cases I have found useful using fiber glass and epoxi resin on the inside. One layer of that once dried should give enough stability to avoid any outside crack to get bigger.
Don't know if that would help in your case.

E-11 PVC Pipe Build Templates (Imperial and Metric)
artimorty replied to usaeatt2's topic in ANH BlasTech E11
Thanks Aaron.
Guess I will start playing with cheap PVC tubes to see where that can get me while waiting Dday's news on his kit. Definetely following your inner barrel topic form now on. Very impressed and veeeery tempting. -
FISD E-11 BLASTER REFERENCE
artimorty replied to FISD E-11 Reference Team's topic in ANH BlasTech E11
Hi there again.
Revisiting again and again this wonderful reference thread, to get prepared to my own build whenever it comes, I miss on the chapter 4 the modification option for pipe building of installing an inner barrel inside the main one, just as Ian did on:

http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/29089-dvh-pipe-build-with-extras/page-6

I suppose that can also be done (and surely have already been done) on PVC builds.

Just pointing it out in case that helps. -
E-11 PVC Pipe Build Templates (Imperial and Metric)

Many thanks for this to you all. This is an INCREDIBLE COMUNITY...
Definetely I would have to take a look at it.
Still no armor (I'm one of the expectant peasants who have felt the vader's call, a wannabe trooper waiting a shiny anovos suit to arrive) and no weapon (I've enlisted for a derrek's kit) and in the meantime trying to get enough skills and information not to ruin those up.

I was wondering... What would be the proper gauge of the PVC tube for the barrel? -
FISD E-11 BLASTER REFERENCE
artimorty replied to FISD E-11 Reference Team's topic in ANH BlasTech E11
Jajaja
Just let see if I can have ANYTHING done properly!. I would be glad and proud if the day I finish my first e11 it doesn't go off.
But thanks for the wise advice of taking things slowly, Ian. My first view of this thread brought to my head the image of the words on the cover of "the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy": Don't Panic! -
FISD E-11 BLASTER REFERENCE
artimorty replied to FISD E-11 Reference Team's topic in ANH BlasTech E11
Wooooow... This is a must see. So much information here! Lots to learn before doing anything. I must confess I feel a little overwhelmed but... Hey! If it's not a challenge won't worth the effort.
Thank you all for making all the information easy to find and donwload! -
I see that. Thanks Vern. The TD on the prototype looks far more accurate than the last picture send from the China factory. What bothers me is that they could easily solve (or have solved) these giving the right instructions to the guys who assembled that or even letting us have it our way with the TD as a kit.
Thanks again. Sooooo much to learn and soooo little time!
-
Hi there.
Been giving an eye to the pictures provided by AnOvOs on the last update and those on their web, special attention to the TD, the holster and the backplate. The clips on the TD on the prototype seems to be in good position, and I can't see any reason why ours shouldn't be assembled right. Couldn't be they have depicted just a preliminary one paying not too much attention to details?
And the backplate on the update is much much sharper than the prototype (I know, I know... Subject to change) but that can also be an issue with the light and projected shadows. Does anybody see any significant difference between the last pictures and those of the prototype?

http://www.anovos.com/collections/star-wars/products/star-wars-classic-trilogy-imperial-stormtrooper-pre-order

Thanks Chris... I'll give a try.

iI'd LOVE to see the interior of the helmet. Is it "naked"? Has it got the yellow foam flower? Is it fabric padded? Can anybody place some pictures here or give us a link to were they are? Thanks! I can see them now... ñ_ñ
