  1. I just found them on Amazon. Look for "Double Cap Rivets" . Some of the kits they offer have different sizes. A couple layers of ABS is probably around 1/16"
  2. WoooooHooooooo! Congrats, Rob! Glad to have another EIB in the Squad.
  3. Congrats, Bryce! Now, lets get out there and make some smiles!
  4. Progress is looking good. Let me know if you want to have a sanding party to make those seams invisible.
  5. Thanks for checking in, Nate! I'm glad my build is still being used to help other's on the path to a TK. The path is long, but the rewards are out of this world! When I did my strapping, I wasn't convinced that E6000 would really hold nylon to elastic when the elastic stretches so much, so I sandwiched them together as you mentioned and Bryce confirmed. Here's a better shot of the assembly process BTW, I would love to be back in Miami this weekend to Troop at the Marlins game. But since I drove down last week to bring my mom back after evacuating, I won't be able to get away this weekend. I will be down sometime to Troop with Everglades Squad!
  6. Great progress, Bryce! I am more than willing to offer suggestions and helpful advice to those that ask. I'm glad you came up to me at LibCon and asked so many questions. Soon, we will be trooping together! For the shin velcro, the secret to separating it is to start at one end and work your finger all the way down. Trying from the middle will be very tough. Don't change it out until you troop in it. I think you will appreciate the heavy duty velcro. After a couple more texts about the thighs, I'll say it one more time... Put the thighs down! Back away slowly! Move on to the bucket and straps! Fitting of all the puzzle pieces will be done when wearing the under armor and with all the strapping done. Moving snap plates, lengthening elastic and straps and any necessary trimming, will be done later. Move along, Trooper!
  7. Left forearm may have issues right out of the box! I have an ATA and my build thread link is in my signature, below. I was able to get my arms to fit right with the 5/8" cover strips for all joints, but my left forearm was very tight. I realized that it was oval and not round at the wrist. I was able to give it a hot water bath and got it to open up. I haven't had any issues with trooping with it. So, take a look to see if it is just lopsided and needs to be more rounded!
  8. Congrats on starting your adventure into the World of White! The Florida Garrison can use a few more TK's. Can never have enough!
  9. Just curious, do both cover strips on the biceps need to be 25 mm, or can it just be the back one? If possible, it would be better if the front cover strips could match at 5/8" (16-17 mm) and the back be a little wider.
  10. Nice work, Bryce. It is always better to mess up by cutting something oversize, instead of making it too small. For the back of the thighs, if that is all the gap you have, you have absolutely no issues. Trim the inner reinforcing strip tapered to have at least 1/2" coverage on both sides, or just make it wider the full length. Then, keep the outside cover strip the normal size and install it centered over the joint to cover the opening. I'd add a small filler piece across the top to fill in the open gap. Something like this:
  11. Welcome to the World of White, Shelby. You will love your ATA. I just did my 42nd troop in mine a couple weeks ago in St Pete. Please let me know if I can help in any way. Right now, I'm also helping Btabc with his ANH Stunt and he is just starting. PM me or find me on FB, I see you are on the TBS forum already. Jen will send you a welcome package. Can't wait to get you, Juno and the Jawa Trooping with us!
  12. Glad I could be of help. Troopers Helping Troopers is how the Empire works! Step 2A: Submit Pix. I'd hold on cutting the back of the knees until the whole thing is together. Then, you can see how much, if any is. Edit: The boots affect the fit of the shins. Shins affect the fit of the thighs and strapping affects everything! Besides, how can you appreciate not having armor bites if you won't even give it an opportunity??
  13. Glad we could do lunch yesterday for some motivational talk and working out some fit and trim details. Wait, I think I can see the weekend from here. Do I hear progress?
  14. Not to spoil your plans, but I only used my Dremel to open the eyes and space between the teeth. I didn't trust myself to not allow the speeding bit to get a way from me. ABS Paste can make repairs, but they can also be prevented! Instead of the foam sanding block, get something with a solid backing to it. It will give you a much straighter line. Something like this in plastic or rubber would work: Or, I made this from a 20" sanding belt and a 1x piece of lumber. I rounded the ends to match the radius of the sanding belt: I have several grits and this one is noted as 120 grit. The Ab could use a little more to be sanded off to remove the flare. It should come across the face and then go down and not to flare again.
  15. WooooHoooo! Glad to see that you have started this thread when you BBB arrived! I am thrilled your wait was so short for it to arrive. After all, the LibCon was only 2 weeks ago! Yes, the TBS squad will be more than helpful at the AP. Let me know if there is anything else I can help with, besides lending the ab button paints!
  16. Those are amazing. It felt great to be part of the FISD group photos. Wish I could have made it to the beach. Well Done, Troopers! BTW, the FISD photo comes in at 182 strong in costumes, plus Staff!
  17. Just curious, what is the padding inside the kidney plate, for?
  18. Nice work, Paul! BTW, now that you have used the system, let me know if there are any changes to the photo checklist that could help make the process any smoother.
  19. Congrats, Josh! It was great to meet you there with the inspectors. I really wish I could have also been an observer as the Masters perform an inspection!
  20. Same! It was AWESOME to meet Tony, Andrew, Tim and Paul. And Pretzel! And I met quite a few more! I came up with 182 FISD members in costume - 178 TK's of various flavors and 4 Phasmas
  21. Wow! That is Outstanding. A chance of a TK's Lifetime! Talk about an incentive to get that EIB App submitted!
  22. Bump WE NEED TK's AT CELEBRATION ! ! ! As of this morning, for Blast-A-Trooper only, there are 114 slots to fill and only 30 slots are filled. That is only 26% participation! For the bare minimum of having 1 Trooper and 1 Gun Wrangler, we need to have 38 Volunteers, but we only have 15! ! ! This isn't even counting the rest of the positions needed for the Trash Compactor set, Death Star Gunnery Station, Blast Doors set, that are also looking for more Troopers to sign up! There are 19 time slots available over the four days of Celebration. Let's step up and help the Empire!
  23. Excellent! Nice work on the hand painting of the bucket!
