  1. Congrats! There is an amazing assortment of talented TK's around here and I agree, I'm glad I didn't have to chose. Thanks to all that took the time to be creative and submit and Congrats to Peter! I look forward to bumping into a bunch of these shirts in Orlando!
  2. I've learned something new today! Cool. Thanks! Good idea. Possibly if the thread name would include the kit manufacturer. Something like the EIB/Centurion threads. Many build threads do, but there are quite a few that don't.
  3. FYI, many Troopers go with the 2-snap method instead of only 1 snap. With this change, we also go up to 2" strapping to fit 2 snaps per end. The 1-snap method only really needs a 1" strap. Agreed with the others that the CRL does not have any requirements for the inside strapping, except for the shoulders!

  5. Jeff Salt TK 50297 EIB Letter Size Tony I was wondering when you would get around to this my friend! http://www.whitearmor.net/eib/certificates/50297-eib.png
  6. Looks awesome! Nice work on the fixes! Save a space on the office wall for that Centurion Certificate! BTW, I also swear by jj63's recommendation of double snaps. It has saved me many time. (Last week was different...)
  7. Just a thought, if we go with a Celebration logo just on the back and the FISD logo on the front, maybe the front logo could also add a scroll or something across the badge saying 'Celebration Orlando' or something to make that shirt stand out from a standard FISD shirt. However, i would not be opposed to having the same logo on the back and smaller on the front.
  8. Agreed. I print them on card stock and keep them in a plastic sleeve in a binder. Thanks Mathias for taking on this massive mission. It is greatly appreciated by those that have earned the honor of receiving these!
  9. OK, so this is a 4-day event... If I wore a different shirt design for 2 hours before changing to the next design and then the next... Can I really fit all those shirts in my closet? Awesome work, designers! Agreed that this will be a tough decision!
  10. Looks nice, Will! Looking forward to the full set of pix. The only thing that jumps out at me are you boots. The white leather spray will not cover the black elastic. That needs white fabric paint. I picked up a small bottle at our local craft store and have used it a lot. It also works well on the boots to touch up in the creases where the white has come of, just like you have experienced. A little touch-up every few troops and they kept looking great!
  11. Our JoAnn Fabric Stores carry it. Might have it online to order
  12. Nice work, Solomon! And, thanks for jumping on the changes that others have commented. It does seem to fit better when all the pieces are in the right place and facing the right direction. The only comment that I would have to add is the belt flap. I'm not sure if that would be a comment, but it is visible. I had the same issue with mine and I ended up folding it over and sewing it back on itself behind the plastic ammo belt portion. It looks like it can be done relatively easy on yours without having to adjust any fasteners. Just a thought... It looks like you are aiming for Centurion, so the comments that have already been made will eventually need to be addressed. Some are only for Centurion's requirements and can be put off a little if tight on time. Good Luck!
  13. Nice work and the upgrades look great. The shoulder bells should just kiss the shoulder bridge.
  14. WooooooHooooo! Congrats, Mike! Let's go split a pizza! Oops, Don't want to need those shims... How about a salad? If you don't, I should have screws to replace those with!
  15. Glad I could help. But, don't forget the Standard Issue Imperial Belt Buckle. If the quartermaster doesn't have any left, check your local Target or here on-line: http://www.target.com/p/belt-buckle-star-wars-silver/-/A-49125471
  16. I call it 'TK Business Casual'. Halloween at work last year, since I wore the whole TK the year before. The only times I've trooped a non-501st event were at my church for Halloween/Fall Festival. I have not tried showing up some place in costume, but consider the audience if you do. The church event you mentioned, should have no issues. You may consider changing into street clothes for the last half of the evening since it is not the most comfortable outfit to party in.
  17. Fun with Elevators Elevators are awesome for Trooping. Tim mentioned that he loves the shock value of elevators at conventions and there is more fun to be had. So far, the only Troops that I have had this opportunity are at Hospitals, Museums, Sports Stadiums and Arenas. Elevators are great besides for just getting a Star Wars Selfie in an elevator, the opening door offers an element of surprise for anyone on the other side of the door... Star Wars Selfies – Taking a ride in an elevator with a Stormtrooper, Darth Vader or other characters just doesn’t happen every day and passengers want to tell their friends what they are actually doing. At some events, they may get lucky and also get some Mercs and Ghostbusters in the picture. Elevator Surprise – Or possibly Elevator Shock… When waiting for an elevator, stand 3-4’ (1+ meters) away and facing the door. People are so used to getting on and off elevators that they will be shocked to see a Stormtrooper securing the floor as the door opens. Even better if you are able to be holding a blaster. There is still enough space between you and the door for any passengers to get off at that floor, if they really want to. This is most impressive if there are other Stormtroopers and Vader standing behind you. When riding on an elevator, stand close and facing the door waiting for it to open, with a blaster, if possible... Nobody is really expecting to have a Stormtrooper greet them at the door. It helps having Mr. Breathing Machine or a Wookiee standing behind you. If the elevator is completely full and the door opens on an intermediate floor, hold your hand up to people wanting to get on and say, “Prisoner transfer. Please wait for the next lift.” If there is still room in the elevator, step aside and let them board. But have fun with them, especially if there are kids with them. Before letting them on, ask for the password. Whatever word they give you, say, “That was last week’s password”, or “Password confirmed.” I’ve let a family on an elevator and told Vader “These are not the Padawans we are looking for.” When getting off an elevator, I like to stand at the door for the first impression. I walk out holding my blaster straight up, look both ways up and down the hallway and then signal the others that the floor is secure and they can exit the elevator. Go have fun and make someone smile!
  18. Signing up for the FISD Photo and the social before the Bash!
  19. Maybe we should have a fund raiser to cover the cost needed for that. Those badges are nice. They probably aren't cheap
  20. Nice work, Q. Glad you managed to make it out of the workshop explosion. I am impressed with the festive details added to your bucket. Do you have any close-ups?
  21. Done! Can any overages go towards increasing our target practice to improve accuracy??
  22. Another use for the holster is a place to store trading cards. When blasters are not permitted - hospitals, some theme parks, etc. - I stuff a piece of foam in my holster and put in a stack of trading cards. They are so easy to reach down and grab one to hand out. For me, trooping with a blaster makes it hard to store my cards to hand out.
