  1. Ah hahaha, back of the transport for you!
  2. I love the enthusiasm of you new recruits. Remember to pay it forward as you go along. Encourage & support one another. Don't be afraid to be a teacher but never forget you'll always be a student.
  3. You're not alone. Not a single person here hasn't felt the way you're feeling now. Some have $350 kits, some have $2000 kits. Don't fret, when you're ready start a build post. We'll be here for you every step of the way.
  4. ooooh! so close I can taste it, or in your case smell it
  5. If this armor is similar to FX (overlap connections) the ovalness lol, is a normal reaction to how the haves are being connected. I have FX suit I modified to butt and strip method and my forearm result was the same as this. I tried to hot water bath as well with little or no effect, not to say the idea won't work here. Just throwing my 2 cents in.
  6. AAAHHH!!! no, no sand paper. lol You're going to laugh but use white glue or Aquanet hair spray (or similar) to dull out the areas, then weather that. Trust me, once you scuff up there's no going back. Try the glue or hairspray, if you don't like something you can wash it off and start over. Just a trick I learned with mt TD.
  7. Sorry i need to put more smiley faces in my post so I don't appear grumpy, my bad. oops!
  8. Well if this is intentional they better be using something other than ABS, Everyone here know ABS will not withstand those kid of pressures for very long. Now if the upper layer were made of Teflon or something similar I can see being feasible, but then good luck painting Teflon.
  9. When's the last time you modified armor after spending countless hours of building it? This armor is painted, some will rattle can it others will go with a professional. I can't imagine having to redo my armor then repaint it just because of a CRL change. Either it will be excepted AS IS! despite CRL changes or we wait. I mentioned grandfathering a few pages back, it wasn't received very well. With the countless pictures we have already a finalized CRL shouldn't be too far off. Minor detail changes should not effect those that were previously approved.
  10. Beautiful job Jason For added effect you may want to add some white paint to the front of your mic tips.Gives the illusion they're white on the inside like the movie bucket.
  11. Correctly me if I'm wrong but isn't this armor designed for overlap connections? If so that's why it is so difficult to connect the edges. It's not a bad thing, just a bit more challenging. Still looks mucho bueno
  12. Wow looking at the RPF image the mound needs some serious redesigning. By the looks of it the layers are separating, either because the weight of the gun or a poor tongue and groove design. My guess is being the holster is plastic and the gun mounting pins are metal (speculation here), one hard bump to the gun and you may rip the upper portion of the mount layer or rip the mount off your thigh completely. Though this may a nice design in theory it won't last very long in the real world. As mentioned in a previous post I still think this area should use a earth magnet attachment design.
  13. HA! I knew I wasn't going insane Ok so I was a little off, wrong builder
  14. I'd ask Terrell to send you a new one. I'm sure he will once you show him the pics, he's pretty cool like that.
  15. well I'm glad it inspired someone, mission accomplished! You're very welcome BTW Seems like you have everything under control but if there's anything I can do to assist please let me know.
  16. My kids are too old but this is soooooo cool. Great job Bill
  17. Here I was browsing the build threads minding my own business and what do I see, the word REBUILD. I immediately broke out in hives . Andi your rebuild thread makes mine look like a cake walk, and mine was not. I've gotta hand it to you sister, some the inventive ways you've overcome serious obstacles should give others inspiration. I will be following the build with a vengeance. Keep up the good work
