  1. Final leg assembly coming, until then here's the final Thermal Detonator assembly 10c. Thermal Detonator Assembly Final Installing components. Center and install face plate (control panel). Install end caps. Add glue, attach the plate and caps, let dry Clips. Reference pic, screen used TD. The Anovos supplied clips aren't very accurate but if used should be accepted at any level of application. I personally don't have a problem with how the Anovos clips are shaped, I actually prefer the shape over the canon style as they don't scratch my armor as bad. A matter of preference. The problem I do have is the clip length (amount of metal) used to secure the TD to the belt. Screen Accurate clips are approximately 69mm or 2-3/4" as seen here Anovos is approximately 60mm or 2-1/4". This make for a lot less material hanging onto your belt, not to mention it's a 1/2" from accurate. In this situation I chose to make my own clips. Screen used clips are approximately 29mm or 1-18" in width. Mine will be 1-1/4" due to 1-1/18" x 1/16" thick is difficult to find here in the US for some stupid reason. The good news is the length needed is almost exactly that of canon. If you want to make your Anovos more screen accurate simply straighten out the center bend then taper the ends like so Installation: Whether you use the Anovos supplied clips, make your own or buy new the following mounting instructions will technically be the same Place the clips so the curved end is nestled against the face plate (lower edge) and the end cap. Mark the hole to be drilled Mounting screws. The Anovos mounting screws provided though approveable at all levels, are not accurate. They should be pan head and slotted, not "V" shape, Philips. Those shooting for L3 I strongly encourage you to replace them with something similar to canon. I'll be using #6 x 3/8". These are slightly larger then what's seen used on the canon TD but are the correct shape. Note: Depending on which screws you use will determine what bit to use when drilling the mounting screws. A 5/32 bit can be used for the screws I'm using or Anovos supplied. Note holes and drill accordingly Install screws After And finally, the screws are to be painted black for L3. Mine are painted using semi gloss The TD is finished and ready to install
  2. Any white paint close to mach is fine. What I did was take a piece of scrap down to a local hardware store and have it color matched then purchased the smallest amount I could buy. I use it to touch up everything.
  3. You're fired! Seriously, you're cool Tyler. Don't sweat the mm. I do have to say though the pan head screws are gigantic. They should be quite a bit smaller Here's a reference pic.
  4. Hey Jamie thanks for the update. That said we'd like to welcome your to Expert Infantry, congratulations
  5. Yes however, (disclaimer lol) as long as the cover strip glue has had ample time to cure, your water isn't above the boiling point and you don't leave then in for too long you should be ok, if not they come loose depending on how much stress you exert in a specific area. If they come loose in the process you just have to reinstall them, whatever.
  6. Also, keep in mind you can only post so many images per post. It all depends on the size of image file.
  7. As Mark mentioned the armor is asymmetrical. He also mentioned human arms are different also. In some cases the two have difficulty fitting correctly. In this case you may need to give them a hot water bath to even things out, not for aesthetic reasons but for the comfort. Something you may have to consider. Note: If you can roll the forearms around your arm and find the sweet spot of comfort then the water bath may be a good idea, if not you may to take the cover strips back off, create some space between the two halves then reinstall the cover strips.
  8. In addition to what Kalani mentioned... 1. JPG your pictures 2. Reduce the file size. A simple and free program if you don’t have one is Photoscape. Use the batch editor to scale down an entire library of large file pictures. 3. Go to photobucket.com or similar and open a free account. 4. Using Photobucket for example, create directories or new folders, stay organized from the start 5. Upload (drag and drop) images into your library 6. Select an image from your library 7. From the ā€œShare this photoā€ click on the box to the right of ā€œDirectā€. This copies the image to memory. 8. Back to your thread. Select the image button at the top of the screen. 9. Using your mouse right click and paste, or short key ctrl, V. Select "ok" 10. Done!
  9. Yea you can get them from trooperbay also, just a bit more expensive
  10. Yea you're bugging me, REALLY!? I thought we were close, ya know brothers man, where's the love? lol As Angie said breathe... we good? ok let's tackle this thing. Are you saying your forearms are too snug, even without inner cover strips? Which I hope you know are not required btw. Looking great btw Aaron.
  11. Ouch!, were they glued Shaun? I though they're just screwed on.
  12. When I first built my ATA HWT the drop boxes and holster were on snaps. You can see how I did it on my ATA re-build thread

  16. Hi Brandon, thank you for updating your blaster. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: Thank you again for your application and the requested photos, everything is now present. On behalf of the FISD, Sly and I would like to welcome you to Expert Infantry. Congratulations trooper! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we'll discuss areas that may need improvement to help your armor looks its best. 1) We noticed your forearms are sitting pretty low, they should be closer to your elbow. You can remedy this by adding a strap between your biceps and the forearm like so or similar. Foam works also but the strap helps keep the two aligned. 2) Your posterior out of sorts. We suggest maybe tightening up the connecting straps a bit 3) Right thigh out of alignment from right shin. Strap adjustment? 4) Reduce back to kidney gap. Strap adjustment Yours Reference pic Centurion Suggestions and Requirements: In this section we'll discuss areas that may need to be addressed for Centurion. 1) Waist ammo belt 45 degree corners are to meet the edge of the cloth belt. Unfortunately you might have to replace the ammo belt to remedy this. Your belt Reference pic 2) Ab to kidney clearance should be little to no gap. Tighten straps or you may have to add shims. Yours Reference pic That's it. Great job Brandon and again, congratulations
