TK3942 Requesting ANH Stunt EIB Status [RS][602]
ukswrath replied to Bushido's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Better yet, thanks -
I use a butter knife. Stand the forearm vertical, start the knife on on end, like a "T" handle, slide it down separating the two in seconds. Oh! and wear gloves

Hey Nam can we get a full length action shot picture, Thanks again -
Hey Tomas in the grans scheme of it all it's really not that bad however, if you're not satisfied you can try re-gluing it, this time adding painters tape to assist in holding the two sections together while it dries. Keep up the great work

TK-22019 Requesting ANH Stunt EIB Status[601]
ukswrath replied to TK-22019's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Hey Gary, thanks for your application and welcome to your EI review. It's my pleasure to review another fellow GGG member. Let's get started. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All submission photos have been posted. Your armor displays all the necessary elements to qualify for level 2. Sly and myself would like to welcome to Expert Infantry trooper! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations if any, made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. If any suggestion affects any application, it will be listed separately in the above or below sections. None of these suggestions will effect your EIB status. 1) The Hovis screens from Anovos are not exactly screen accurate, and the Vcoder paint outlines are washed out. We've been encouraging applicants to replace the screens and clean up the paint lines as best as possible. Here's what the area should look like. Reference picture 2) The gap at the top of the bells can be tightened by 1/2" allowing the alignment to look better. It's not a huge issue but the tighter the better Reference picture 3. Also not a huge deal but decreasing the gap between the right bicep and forearm would balance both sides out. Centurion Suggestions: Because Centurion photos show much more detail than EIB, items pertaining to Centurion might be seen there and not here. We try to point out all we can from what is seen but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper. This is also where we try and get you in the best possible position for a successful Centurion application. 1) The CRL states there can only be one seal between the kidney and ab. Using some ABS paste and paint this can be easily updated to look like one seam. For level three certification (if applicable): A single visible seam line is present. Reference picture 2) There is to be minimal gap between the back and kidney. This could be a simple picture issue or you may need to tighten the back to kidney straps. Reference pic Great job on your build. Great to have another GGG brother in the EIB ranks. -
TK-22019 Requesting ANH Stunt EIB Status[601]

Excellent, thank you -
If nobody receives a kit then I guess there's no cause for concern right however, if these kits begin showing up at legion approvals then we'll know it and address it there. Either way we'll figure it out. Let's put the paranoia to rest for a while shall we?

Hey Matt, welcome to your Centurion application, and a big thank you for making the suggested updates. Lets do this. CRL and Centurion Application Requirements: All submission photos are present. Your armor meets all the necessary requirements to earn the Centurion badge. Sly and myself would like to congratulate you on a job well done Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: We have nothing more to add here except for report for duty Centurion!!

My pleasure

I think you could get away with 15mm and still be good. Like you said any support will help. Keep up the good work

Inner cover strips are not required at any level of approval so technically you can make them any size you'd like .

The CRL is in the process of being edited. Until then we have to verbally mentioned it. Also, here's a photo of screen used armor just in case you were curious, there's no paint on the rivet or snaps. Thank you -

Thank you -
Looks good. Once you clean off the glue you should be golden. Inner cover strips will strengthen the area also.

At 5'8 the armor should fit you height wise without modifications. Removing the return edge will decrease the space between you and the armor which should ease fitment issues, especially if you're having difficulty with it fitting around your waist. In my build the the armor owner is 6'1" and the armor fit him with very little modifications.

How tall are you Chris?
-
Hey Jim, sorry to hear about your situation, all is not lost brother. None of these issues above will hold you back from basic 501st approval, and with very little corrections EIB and Centurion will also be at your grasp. A good majority of us have stories of despair. Don't give up hope, you're almost there.

If your shoulders are wide than they are wide, there's nothing you can do except for buy larger bells, which IMO your's aren't bad enough to warrant that. Suggestion, if you haven't done so already remove almost all the lower bell edge. Make sure the lower strap is tight around the bicep so that it holds it as tight as possible. Zero gap at the top, and that's the best you can do. The guy I built the Anovos armor for has wide shoulders also and look how his armor fits. You still may have wider shoulders and that's ok, if it matters it will not be held against you at L3. Hope his helps

If you connect the forearms to the biceps, then biceps to bells, they should all work together to retain alignment. Screen armor didn't have the inner strap at the back of the bicep and so some bells and arms were positioned all over the place. A good majority of the armor you see built today, including yours have the strap. Though not screen accurate it does help solve the alignment issue.
