  1. The spring is from my local hardware store it was the closest I could get to what I saw in the other build threads. I don't believe the one I used for my e11 and this one Preston is using has 11 coils. [emoji19] I may at some point make a better spring for my e11 but for now these are doing the job splendidly! 2. The TKMod forearm. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. Screen shot taken from this site showing the forearm detail. Track extends full length of forearm. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. Try this guy for mannequins! http://store.voicebooster.com/mannequins Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. Thank you Randy! Question for all you RTMod brothers... On the forearms the top track ends at the wrist and the elbow joint. In screen shots that I've seen the track extends the length of the forearm. I did see Eric mention to Tim to trim it if able. My question is did you trim yours or did you use a hobby iron to remold the elbow joint end? I know I am going to trim the wrist end any as per Centurion guidelines. But just not sure if the extra half inch I cut off is going to screw me in the other end. Total plastic removed would amount to about 3/4" loss in length. 1/4" from the wrist and a 1/2 " from the elbow end. Pictures of your forearms would be great! Thanks in advance! 6. The biceps -- Dry fitting them - Starting to glue - I am glueing the insides first. Most of the cover strips were precut by the RTMod team. Arm sections are a 15mm strip. But they didn't supply enough and they are to small in length. I should only have to cut four cover strips for the arm sections and they will be the outside strips for the forearms. I will get to that soon enough. Cover strip trimmed up and edges sanded. I like the small rounded corners over straight flat cuts - This is the strip provided by Rob. Way to small for the outside - First bicep together - Dimple removed - Before After Next up the forearms... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. Wow!! What a journey this has been to get to this point. Where do I start... I guess I should start by thanking our new detachment leader! Tim has been my go to guy since I joined the FISD in July of 2014. His E-11 build thread, along with many other build threads that I credit in my thread, helped me build an awesome display piece for my living room! Here is my E-11 build thread. My First Build http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?/topic/28003-My-First-Build (Which the admins could move to the E-11 build threads if they so desire as I started that in the wrong area.) Tim has been there for every question I have asked concerning my E-11 build and during the process of sourcing, ordering, buying and now building this beautiful Stormtrooper kit from Rob at RTMod. I honestly received my kit last month and have already started to overwhelm him with questions in pms. So, after finding out that he is our new Detachment leader I figured I better start this build thread finally to ease the weight of all my questioning on him, lol! I can't thank you enough Tim! You are the epitome of troopers helping troopers. Ok, so while waiting for that infamous brown box to arrive I decided to buy a fully built Tie armor and helmet setup from a vendor here on the FISD. I won't go into in detail, as this is not the place for it. But needless to say, it was not a pleasant buying experience at all and I still don't have what was originally promised and probably will never have. I am still in contact with this person and am hoping to finally have everything that was promised but we will just have to wait and find out. Not everyone handles their business like Rob at RTMod! On a positive note I did purchase all the soft goods and other bits separately so I was able to get approved as a Reserve Pilot. Officially TI62403!!! Happy Dayz!!! Also during the wait, I was able to start buying the bits and pieces needed to finish this build. I have gone from fully accurate to deciding to use snaps instead. I am also hoping to achieve Centurion level with this build. So I plan on incorporating all upgrades during the build. Thank you in advance to anyone that decides to follow my build and offer me advice and help! The build has started! I started with the biceps. I am working on the forearms now as well. Pictures follow and questions shortly there after. This is so freaking exciting! Here's the box! If I had the skills I would have thrown some JJ effects in there but nope it's just a box! (How a simple brown box can bring joy to so many grown men is just amazing!!) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. This isn't my thread but this is the box I purchased! I have seen mostly 35 gallon and 50 gallon containers being used. I think Husky brand makes some as well. Good luck and I hope this helps!<br> <a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/33852-stanley-box-customization/'>http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/33852-stanley-box-customization/</a>
  9. Congratulations Tim! You have set the bar high for everything that you have done here on the FISD! Keep at my friend!! Man you are gonna be busy with this new work load and being my personal armor confidant!!! <br><br> Thank you Eric for your service!! It was a phenomenal year!
  10. I do have a spare Doopys scope if you need Preston. I'll send it to you for free if you want to experiment. Or give it to you at the next troop. Your call just let me know bud! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. Very nice! I knew magnets were the answer! I love how you incorporated the fridge magnet! Much better then plywood or balsam wood!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. That is exactly why Preston is building this E-11 and not me! Lol!! To many projects... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. Colin, Ian(Sith Lord) wasn't trying to scare you off. He was merely stating you would be better off starting your own thread so everyone can chime in and critique your build in order to make it a better build. Rather then looking for answers through someone else's build thread. Which can lead to confusion. Ian(Sith Lord) is a great guy and will be one of the first and definitely not the last to help you in this fun filled adventure you are starting on! Stick around keep reading Preston's thread. Don't stop asking questions! Many people here have asked questions in someone else's build thread. It's not the end of the world. It is just better to start a build thread and ask the questions there so we can start helping you too, without confusion! #troopershelpingtroopers Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. This is the same hengstler counter mod you and I purchased from Blue Snaggletooth. I included it with the extra my E-11 kit that I sold to Preston here. Sorry I didn't chime in earlier. For some reason my notifications stopped working for this thread. Preston is why I had asked if you had ever come up with anything creative or functional at least for this mod. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. The counter is a counter mod I purchased from BlueSnaggletooth here on the FISD. I am very excited to see how he makes it all work while keeping the numbers functional. Great build so far Preston! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. I agree with Joe. He blanketed it in a silver dry brush. Don't get me wrong it looks ok. But I personally think he should have researched the look and taken a little more time to make it look right. T-tracks and grip with silver weathering, I don't think so... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. Bad Guys Doing Good!

  18. Because power tools rock!(Followed by the Tim Allen "grunt") Seriously though, during your build you will be trimming your plastic spaceman suit and to speed things up a Dremel comes in handy. It drills, sands, cuts, etc. it is a very versatile tool! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. Two great resource threads to have in your back pocket... Supply list for your TK build.... http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?/topic/31404-Supply-list-for-your-TK-build%2E%2E%2E%2E Combined on-going accessories listing http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?/topic/20869-Combined-on-going-accessories-listing
  20. D-rings --- Metal D-rings for your E11 http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?/topic/8047-Metal-D-rings-for-your-E11 You can definitely add it! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
