  1. Looking good Clamps! Hope to see you with it up in Toronto.
  2. I was beginning to wonder when we'd see you here No worries or comments from my side. You've got this one sewn up my friend!
  3. This past weekend the Great Lakes Garrison, Great Lakes Base, and the Midwest R2 Builders attended Maker Faire Detroit held at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn Michigan. This was a special troop for me because it was my first! After a year of building and waiting and then building some more I finally got to show my armor to someone other than my family.
  4. Someone needs to tell him the tag goes in the back.
  5. Awesome!!! Thank you all so much for all of the support and advice! To celebrate, here is a group photo from my first troop yesterday. I'm second from the far right.
  6. Great pictures ED! Looking forward to trooping with you this year!
  7. While I'm waiting for "Judgment Day" I thought I'd take the opportunity to thank everyone on the FISD boards for all the support and encouragement over the past year. I officially started my build last July when I got my blaster and from day one I was made to feel like I belonged here. Finishing my build this July cemented the fact that this is an awesome place to hang out and receive encouragement. Thank you all for the support!
  8. If you decide to go with the strap method make sure to buy more snaps than you think your going to need. It seems like I went through them like water.
  9. That's good to know. Thanks! I bought a bottle of it to keep in my storage container.
  10. Another great newsletter! You guys do and awesome job and I look forward to each new issue!
  11. Good luck and take your time. There's a lot to learn but its also a lot of fun!
  12. Perfect! Just in time for me to start following along. Can't wait to see your progress!
  13. How often do you have to re apply it?
  14. Very nice build! I really like the way you did your interior strapping. The gap on your Kidney/Ab attachment looks great as well. One thing I can see to take a look at would be the cover strips on the back of your calf. They look a little wide to me. You also might want to post a different picture shoing the D-ring on the back of the blaster. You can barely see it on the side shot you have posted. Other than that it looks good.
  15. Love it! Only 157 days until Christmas. Make sure Santa is out of jail by then
  16. Thanks! They are black but they're showing up lighter due to the sun in the photo.
  17. Some of the changes since my EIB thread submission: 1. Added three point attachment system for the Chest Plate to the cod in order to keep the chest piece from extending above the cod. 2. Replaced the elastic straps that were holding the kidney and ab together with non flexible nylon straps. This allowed me to close the gap between the cod and kidney significantly. 3. Used ABS paste and a new coat of paint to clean up the seam between the kidney shim and the kidney. 4. Painted the tabs on the inside of the kidney black just in case a small gap does open up. 5. Took new photos showing the rivets on the kidney and thigh are painted white. 6. Tightened up the belt connection to make sure the belt doesn't sag in the middle and stays right below the button plate.
