1. You can get the whole set of Humbrol colors for 12$ at trooperbay.com
For the belt I recommend the For Sale section here in the forum.
Velcro, foam straps and elastics should be found at local hardware stores. If you have a sewing store - maybe go there for elastics.
And of course you can also get all this stuff on eBay. (but i would not buy a belt there....)
2. Hi Alan!
I would love to get my hands on those files. Since I'm an industrial mechanic, I would like to build a metal DLT-19.
But the whole world uses the metrical system. Can I use your files and modify them? I would change everything to mm.
If it's possible, I could do some parts on CNC machines...
Usually I'm using SolidWorks.
3. That's a really nice collection!
4. I tried to remove the inner dropboxes to make them functional (open/close) but I had no success so far :/
5. I just double checked it. I have the same issue with my iPad 1 using Safari.
6. My commercial invoice says 300$ for the product and 126$ for shipping. So there are 50$ left for the soft parts, but how do they declare the soft part shipping? Other question: Did anybody disassemble the inner drop boxes? I'd like to make them functional (open/close).
7. Hello. I found out, that it's possible to use the same armor for ESB and ANH, since they did the same on the movie set. Only differences are: Helmet (decals & frown), Handguards & Belt/Holster - am I right? But in the CRL of the ANH Stunt it says about the shoulder straps, they "may free float in back". In the CRL of the ESB trooper it says "These shall be affixed in the back". Is the small elastic enough for fixing them or do I have to glue them on for centurion status? (Because then it's not the same as on the ANH armor...) Can I get an ANH armor Centurion approved, purchase ESB gloves/handguards, helmet, belt/holster and blaster and then let the same armor be centurion approved as ESB?
8. No, you misunderstood that. I payed for USPS Priority (that was more expensive than regular FedEx Shipping). But now they shipped it with FedEx and did not change the bill. So they charged int'l Priority shipping costs and I only received regular shipping. You have to pay VAT for the whole bill (incl. shipping) So if your bill is higher due to higher shipping costs, you will have to pay more taxes. Additionally, they will have to declare the 2nd shipping anyhow. And I would like to know how they do it, since all the shipping costs are on the declaration for the armor parts. Of course I will wait for the second part shipment, I have no other choice (Since Anovos Customer Support isn't helpfull at all). But I would like to have that clarified before - If I know what's going on, I can also call FedEx and tell them how to declare the 2nd package at customs. And just to clear that: I was not at all insulting to the customer support. I told them, that Anovos does a great job and they make lots of people happy, I only would like to know how shipping and VAT declaration at customs is done. And the answer that it's not their business is less than satisfying...
9. I opened a support ticket because they of the shipping. They are shipping with FedEx instead of USPS Priority (which I had ordered) and they ship the soft parts extra, so this makes a lot of trouble for me at customs. I need to pay more taxes due to higher shipping costs (USPS price was more and I payed for it, but didn't get it), I will have to pay toll and taxes twice for shipping and the product, because they send it in two parts. The only answer I got from Anovos was: "All imports duties, taxes and fees are the responsibility of the buyer." But it's their fault, that I have to pay higher rates and that sucks.
10. I think it's just personal preferences. Most people use French Blue now.
11. good luck with the Anovos customer support... I found out they are as outstanding good as the quality control in their chinese factory.
12. Have a look on that one: may help //edit: Here's the ESB promotion picture and there's clearly no holster on the right side -----------
13. Yep, looks like a plumber had too much time at work Very interesting, but even for a conversion it's not worth the money But it really looks like a very old scratch build type of e-11 blaster toy thingy
14. Since it's not in the CRL and it's usually the Han Solo Blaster, I don't think a lot of TKs use that one. I haven't seen one by myself, only the SE-14R Blaster. I know that there is a resin kit sold at doopydoos.com Maybe you can find something about scratch builds in the rebel legion forum? (for Han Solo costume)
15. you can have a look on the original screen used boots here: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/gallery/album/20-boots-original-brand/ Just compare them with the one you want to order. My boots are from zhongvador he is a member here and comes from france. I highley recommend his boots
16. That was my thought too. The only thing I don't like on the helmets is that they didn't paint the last tooth.
17. lol, thought about something else first.... I don't know what you need it for, but for inner cover strips, I will use the rest of the ABS I cut off while trimming everything (I also have the anovos kit)
18. When I made my first TK build, I concentrated on the armor. You have to know how far you wanna go - for basic approval you don't even need a blaster. If you still want one, the hasbro/doopy blaster is fine and cheap. It's great for trooping, because you can easily give it away to kids and it's very light weight.

Most of the other blasters are much more accurate but at least double the price. I don't know how good your skills are, but it's also possible to make your own scratch build blaster that is very accurate. Or maybe a pvc pipe conversion?

I don't have any experience with tkboots or imperialboots - mine are made by zhongvador from france. He makes great boots and he may make a pair of custom sized aswell, just ask him. If you want to paint black chelsea boots, I think the most accurate boots currently available come from Loake. But note, that there should not be any brand visible!
19. This thread is insane! I definitly wanna build a DLT-19 now
20. Do we know which type of glue is used on the covers? Maybe we can freeze it or heat it up for easier removal?
21. Since you do the adjustment only once in a lifetime, I think there's no difference between brackets/elastics and snaps/elastics. But it's obvious that snaps are easier to disassemble than screws are. Maybe snaps/elastics is more flexible, i dunno.
I've used sort of snaps/elastics for my old armor and will do the original strapping for the new anovos kit.
22. Is it still possible to donate somewhere and get the badge? //edit: or maybe a Supporter 2016 badge?
23. @Target92: silver split rivets are ok, you will have to paint them white as mentioned before. Just have a look at the reference gallery! The original strapping is screen accurate and works 100% fine if you do it right. Main difference to other strapping systems: the armor is not that easy disassembled. But it is very stable and easy to build. Since we have pictures from the LFL archives, we even know the exact measurements.
24. Sonnenschein stopped her production on latex handgards so trooperbay is the next option. Another choice would be the imperial supply depot on Facebook.

I recommend to you that you look for higher ranks from beginning on (Expert Infantry & Centurion). It's harder to make the changes later than doing it all right from the start on. You won't need any more tools than for basic approval.
25. It looks insane. But i can only dream of that :/
