  1. 1. Heat up the iron first (set on high). 2. Practice and test on ABS scrap pieces first. I practiced for an hour before starting on the frown. 3. Flatten the inside slowly (only apply gentle pressure) until you see the frown bubble shape start..THEN STOP!
  2. Here's how I completed the "stunt" frown to "hero" frown: I used a quilters heating iron (small enough to get into the helmet and work in the tight space). I don't know where my wife got it. But... it works like a champ!!!
  3. Here's the finished look on my Hero helmet. I converted the NE "stunt" helmet to the "hero" style.
  4. Congrats Germain!!! I've been following your build so its inspiring me to finish my build!
  5. Another question.... If I decide to glue black elastic straps onto my thigh armor, what glue should I use? Here's a reference pic from the FISD archive:
  6. By the way, I can't seem to find any heating iron projects to flatten out the teeth area. Please let me know if anyone has a link or talk thread. Thanks!
  7. We spent time working on the thighs and I will be using the strap brackets for the cod butt chest abs armor. I currently using snap buttons and velcro to hold everything together. Germain, I will be flatting the extra unused teeth. I have an old heating iron that I will test on ABS scraps first before I touch the helmet. Thanks guys for cheering me on!
  8. Thank you Diana and Jojo for visiting me and the family this past weekend. I appreciate your help getting me back on my armor build and the helpful techniques. I'm almost there for TK application status!
  9. Just a side-by-side comparison of my helmets. Left: NE Hero Helmet Middle: RT-Mod Stunt Helmet Right: Scootch Stunt Helmet
  10. Top: Normal Bottom: Custom heated to fit my shoulder and deltoid area.
  11. If you have broad shoulders and muscles on your deltoids, here's how I widen the shoulder bells. 1. I used a large mixing bowl and my heat gun. 2. Applied puressure down on the shoulder bell and gently heated up. 3. It took practice and patience to widen up the bell and form it to my shoulder area. It took about five tries until I formed it just right. 4. Put you heat gun on low setting and heating up until the shoulder bell is almost hot (not toooooo hot!).
  12. I used Krazy Glue to attach my hand plates to my rubber gloves. Everything was from Trooperbay.com 1. I used rubbing alcohol to clean the surface areas of the gloves and bottom of the hand plates. 2. Put on one glove first and test fit the area (so you know where to land it). 3. Applied Krazy glue to the bottom of the hand plates. Do it quickly because it dries fast. 4. Slap the hand plate to your glove and hold it down for five minutes. 5. I had some areas that didn't seal well, so I just brush on more Krazy Glue and its Done!
  13. How I installed my green bubble lenses 1. I used black clips that I had around the garage for the top. 2. I used a black plastic coat hanger as the screw studs. 3. Drilled holes on the studs and lenses. 4. Installed with very small machine screws. 5. The black clips and studs were Krazy glued to the helmet. No melt nor burn marks.
  14. Other completed sections...
  15. Is the Hero frown acceptable? Or do I have to fill in the unused teeth with ABS paste or heat it up to flatten it up?
  16. ANH Hero Helmet 99% Done.
  17. Requesting 501st access. TA 61972 Golden Gate Garrison http://www.501st.com/members/displaymember.php?userID=18045&costumeID=5 Thank you.
  18. HI Germain, I will be using the NE helmet that came with the kit to make it Hero. I will create the six teeth and mold out the rest. Yes, the bubble lenses are pretty cool - it gives you a fish eye effect. Not to bad, but pretty cool. HI Diana, I'll message you! =)

  21. Diana, I might need your help soon! Mostly with test fitting now and fine tuning. Most of the work is done but I feel like the Tin Man from Wizard of Oz. So many areas that need to be cut and trimmed for comfort while trooping. I'll let you know!
