Kessel Run

Just a few hours away from the build, and not beating myself up over the little things that i dont think are gonna pass muster. I realize that the screen worn armor was beat up, and basicly looked like crap if you were standing next to it. But I have a tendency to find every little flaw and turn it into a huge thing when im building something. So take a break and sometimes it dosent look as bad as I thought at first glance.

I'm cleaning up the lines, but does the vocorder look alright? or should I put all 3 center black lines on the same level?

Today was one of those days. I go to Michaels to buy a paint brush, and the lady in front of me at the only check out line buys $40 worth of frames, and pays with nickles and quarters. one of my kids knocked my helmet off the table and it lands on one of the ears resulting on a large crack, one of my $40 salt water fish went belly up. and I am getting the feeling I have no idea what im doing with my armor lol. all and all I think i will leave it all alone till tomorrow, when maybe I will have a fresh outlook. anyone else ever hit a low point in their build, or is it just me?

Is there a certain size snap and rivet size i should be looking for? IE, 7, 8, 14, 7/16th ect?

I painted on the lid detail, any comments before final clean up? im not sure about the vocorder, do the three in the middle go to the same level? also I used the money clips from amazon for the TD clips but they can be changed. Suggestions? Thanks. Sam

The DO? would it be better to move the end caps in? Or move the clips out?

Ok so, I’ve been a little intimidated by the sizing of the leg pieces, and decided to work on the helmet for a little bit. Probably not the best Idea I ever had, but I did it none the less. That being said, I managed to screw up both sets of ears, not terribly, but I know it’s there. I learned that a drill goes thru plastic faster than I had originally thought, as evidenced by the shallow hole I drilled into my finger. I also did some work to my TD. I have started to picking up some of the other accessories I will need later like an E-11, neck seal, under armor, holster and a pair of TK boots, thus prompting some creative explanations of monies spent to avoid what is commonly referred to in the MMO world as Wife agro. (To be honest she has been extremely supportive.) Next I will do a touch more sanding, and start on the paint details. Now back to looking at those pesky leg pieces.

Ok. been workin on this build for 1 week, and things are slowly coming together. Trying to keep my confidence up, (I can do this!) lol. This is my first build ever, so I am a little worried about the final outcome. Anyway I have fitted the forearms and am getting ready to do the final trim and sanding. now I am working on fitting the biceps, and shins. I hope this turns out half as well as some of the beautiful armor I have seen here.

thought this was kinda funny

My biceps are to big, 18 inchs, having to shim the armor out some, and flare the inside top edges out a little to keep a minimal return edge.

Is there a solid limit for shims and cover strips? Or just make it fit? having a little trouble getting my biceps to fit right.

Man I hope 40's isnt to old, i'm 43, and cant wait

Made the first cuts today, started with the forearms. Quick question, the arn cover strips are 15 to 18mm correct? and the leg strips are 20mm to what again?
