  1. thats a pretty cool observation nicely written
  2. Yeah, there are ALOT of questions that you have to answer when purchasing armor...like what is the make of this armor? what is your body build? how tall are you? what was the build for the guy selling this armor? I know you are in a hurry to buy some white armor, but if you take the faster route you could be paying for it later...you say you are not savy with prop building, then what are you going to do if you have to mod this armor to fit you? You most likely are not going to get a made to fit set of armor, we all have different sized forearms, legs, shoulders, mid-section, and heads...I am just trying to get you thinking about all these items before you shell out that much money for something that may not be right for you in the long run...
  3. Too much
  4. Nice Progress!
  5. Yeah, the TM's are very nice
  6. The only time I ever polished my armor was with TK 2105 last Fall before my first LFL event...Since then, knowing what I know now...I haven't cleaned or polished my armor, to me...it gives it a "used" screen accurate look
  7. no problem, i just wanted to throw another option out there for you all
  8. Yeah Ed, I don't think LFL would send an MR into space <_<
  9. you could also get this... -----
  10. Now. I'm guessing that the helmet from Germany is an MFX right?
  11. I guess they called a "fluffer" on set to keep the dewback frosty and ready for the next take
  12. where do you surf in Clovis?
  13. Ah...4999 there is nothing that bothers me more than seeing a TK with a visibal maker's mark on thier back I think it really takes away from the uniform and persona...You might as well have a giant white zipper in the back of your armor
  14. Thats cool!
  15. Yeah, I think the blue kits were sold off long ago, and the new AP stuff has been pulled off of whiter & better plastic
  16. Na, I don't think it was pulled that long ago...He told me he finished pulling his recent kits about 3-4 months ago, and I believe the new plastic does not have the blue hue anymore
  17. and to add to Daetrin's remarks... don't forget that the more screen accurate armor isn't "one size fits all"
  18. Yeah It looks more like an Indigo Blue
  19. Yeah, it depends on the run of plastic used during the actual pulling...I unfortunately acquired one of the Blue AP lids and plus the oxidization of my existing armor didn't make for the greatest combo, but it worked...
  20. there you go...
  21. WOW!, its really amazing how a casting of ROTJ Armor can be modded so nicely into an ANH Great Job!
  22. No, no offense at all, Well, in my humble opinion...The color of blue is pretty much left up to your judgment...We have all seen enough screen caps to make an inference on the rite shade...and I'm sure your not going to choose some metallic Neon Blue bordered with Neon Pink Good luck and keep up the good work!
  23. Hmmmm...shocked over what? maybe I misread your quote, but it sounds like you answered your own question Machorascal "I know that the originals where not exactly consistent" just like painting HIPS...what gloss white works for you is what works for you...as far as my wisdom knows, the specific colors used in the films are lost to time, and the original helmets colors are not the same being over 30 years old now after oxidizing...heck we don't have a definite on the right color for the lenses... what kind/make of helmet are you painting these stripes on?
  24. thanks man, that would be great!
