3 straps... I used elastic. 1 center, 1 on each side. Snaps and corresponding snap plates on each end.

I ordered a large and it fits perfect in the bucket and on my noggin.

This is where I picked mine up ----------- Not sure about the UK, but you should be able to find a supplier and just search "helmet liner".

I use one similar to this and I have no issues with it. Just attached with Velcro on the top and back.

I have the CAP-W. I suggested the liner due to the vision issue. The liner has very little pad at the top (maybe 1/4in. or less) and snugs up the sides and back to your head, allowing for a tighter fit and some side-to-side movement without the use of a chinstrap. The liner also leaves plenty of room for my fans and other electronics. As you can see, I have a relatively short neck and my cheek tubes ride very close to my chestplate. I have some side movement, but I cannot look down.

I have some of the same issue with my helmet contacting my chestplate when I attempt to look down. I don't really think that is too fixable, just the nature of the armor. I did however find a way to get my bucket to stay in place when I look side-to-side by using a motorcycle helmet liner. I ordered from Motorcycle Superstore... I think it was around $10. I just affixed it with some Velcro. Works great and gives my bucket more of that "spaceman helmet" look.

Anybody tinkered with shortening the boom/stalk on the aker mic? It goes all the way around my face and gets hung-up in my bucket when I don and doff.

Interesting..... I do like the small headphones/speakers on this and I would love to be able to hear better on troops. Where could you mount external mics? And power source/amp for that?

Yes. The objective was to create a more screen accurate or "used" appearance. However, I was informed by my GML that this was not acceptable for a TK. I have had to repaint. The only other option I was given was to go TD. Looks cool but won't pass muster.

I might get rid of the chip just above the frown.... the more I look at it, the more it looks like a zit.

First two photos are from my phone (facepiece trimmed and in gray primer). 3rd is the "snot" green. Last is chipped with tips and vocoder painted.

Just did mine last night. I used a Dremel with the sanding disc. Mark with a pencil where you want to remove and nibble away slowly. Check for fit. Takes a while , but gets the job done.

Been contemplating trying my hand at this. I wanna see how this turns out.

I need to find me some Space 1999. Any leads?
