  1. so heres my 2002 anakin lightsaber from master replicas. this was the first lightsaber that came out before the LED ones with the stands. i must say, they did a great job with the metal and chrome, but the plastic and electronics are bantha poodoo, i like to think "they didnt have LED lights back then" lol so it has the EL sheet which isnt as bright as LEDs.. ive rebuilt it twice cuz it kept failing. ive had to resolder wires and all that jazz. there are parts missing and a nasty scratch thats been there from the factory.i think i can polish most of the other scratches out, but i really have no use for this at all. i think if i were to sell it id prolly ask for $50 shipped, but i can also just overhaul it (new clear blade, polishing, grommets, speaker upgrade) or remove the blade to be just the hilt, etc... but idk. what should i do? maybe someone in the sith detachment or rebel legion could give it some love? the missing green and red "lights" which were really crap plastic things as well as the nasty scratch: some scratched on the plastic and the plating on the screw cover is coming off: the boring speaker cover isnt screen accurate: the clash sensor, dont even know where the cap went: lol the greeblie snapped off at some point: hilt holder thing missing oh made in china? you dont say!
  2. Probably to simulate rust, guns do that
  3. How many times do I have to tell you people. Ask the spec ops guys where they bought their armor. Usually its either ata or mypropcollection. From tkboots/AM/mypropcollection: "Thanks for watching our back! I appreciate this very much Oh yes, whenever we have a few extras I normally try to move them on ebay. Gosh, I sure dislike ebay though, they charge so much. Thanks again!" And from daetrin: "If this is the same guy as SithArmor (aka nutsaboutpins), then yeah it's the same dude as TKBoots.Com, ShoulderPauldrons.com, etc.  Been around for a looooooooong while and the price/quality can't be beat."
  4. I say go for it and use "pandatroopers am build thread" as an instruction manual, but it doesn't come with a helmet which is why sithlord is asking, those helmets are huge and inaccurate and there's a lot of people that want to make it non-approvable for new members, the armor though is the same as the white AM kits you'll find on here, except we shadow troopers are in the spec ops detachment, but the same information applies with assembly, etc.
  5. "approvable" is as long as its painted correctly, the crl doesn't say you can't be approved in one
  6. you would certainly look weird standing next to me (shadow). though its feasable, eastbay sells the undersuit in other colors than black, so a grey or white set would work well paired with the white hasbro E-11 i suppose.. but srsly thats why we have the spec ops detachment lol
  7. Ha Vern gets it! Sometimes the crl's are made ignoring the fact that not everyone is a skinny british guy from the 70's, outing pretty much all larger folks and even short ones that must make accommodations from getting centurion cuz the cant fit in the armor properly (such as having to make 30mm coverstrips). There should always be exceptions. Sure a 300 pound stormtrooper would look odd but he should still be eligible for centurion if he (or she) has the correct rivets, trim,etc.. My forearms are skinny but my hands are big, so although my arms are fully glued I can get my hand through but now have gaps in my wrist so I have to use foam, but it doesn't look good cuz you can see the foam at certain poses. Crl's should be more flexible IMO. I would gladly use a clamshell method but all I can think of is using elastic to hold the two halves against my arm
  8. Wow thanks for the link! I've only seen a handful of these from the mepd discussion but hopefully this clears up some confusion, doesn't look like recast to me! I love my AM and I'd also wear an NE, save for if the helmet didn't look to big on my frame
  9. same as stormtroopers E-11 or you can use a DLT-19. Join 501stspecopsdet.net your head will explode when you see a novatrooper elite
  10. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/19449-custom-casting-tk-armor/
  11. Waitaminute... There's only one user I know that would have dengar kits laying around.. Customcastingservices. But I dont understand the "new owners" part.
  12. There's always bass amsterdams and Angelus paint I guess
  13. Maybe a middle name, relative, or alter ego lol. I've just heard bad things on dented helmet and rpf. A shame though, the armor looked good on the model
  14. I remember seeing those pics on ebay last year. There's speculation that its mike glover or r2lass from clone troopers.net nothing was really set in stone from what i've read about them but someone that bought a helmet from them said it was weak fiberglass
  15. Take a heat gun or hair dryer to the warped spots, looking good so far glad you're making progress
  16. Except in that rare event when one of the guys ordered snow armor from a maker and its been just over a year and still hadn't got it
  17. I'm complaining cuz I CANT vote
  18. I don't even know where to get snowys besides checking blizzardforce..
  19. Yeah Isaac not sure if I'll go to phxcon in may, I think the tix were $50, I just dress up I don't read comics. The thighs are gonna be a pain and I still have the back to trim. I just think a little more bicep should show
  20. There's the other detachments if you want to expand to a sandtrooper, or black armor like me there's spec ops. But straight up stormtrooper here is your best bet. I do know there are black kits available, but they aren't assembled, I used pandatroopers build thread as a guide when assembling mine.
  21. Check the for sale section of this form, there's more stormtroopers than anything in the legion, someone is bound to have a completed set that'll fit you up for grabs
  22. As you can see there isn't a lot of support for pep armor here. Go to therpf.com for lots of pep stuff. Here's my glassed pieces so far. I'm building this for the girlfriend, because not everyone wants armor to be 501st approved. Sometimes people just want to dress up! The squares in the forearms will give you a hard time But the cod/ab was the most time consuming cuz of so much detail
  23. I won't bother with a return edge, it looks sharper that way and I'm not going for specialist anytime soon if return edges are required. Plus it seems like I didn't leave enough material for an edge anyway. any shorter might look like a bra lol. Its just enough where I don't quite have the Luke thing going on
  24. I have links of hd and low def ones, you have to use a combination of both for the full suit. The hd ones were ripped from one of the games, I think it was galaxies or something. But they're saved on my laptop, I'll post them in the evening. You can google spacecowboy rpf stormtrooper helmet, but make sure you get the V2, the first one didn't have edges for assembly.
  25. basically i used the top of the ab plate, put it over my chest plate, and cut there.. if you know what i mean. im 5'9" so the sides of the chest originally were touching my hips. its sort of like the "reshape fx chest" tutorial but i used the ab plate shape as a stencil, the chest still over laps the ab, i still have to cut the sides off though for accuracy and glue the shoulder straps on. what you guys think? side question, how much you think i should cut off the bottom of the shoulders? im thinking an inch or 2 max
