  1. Great job Ingrid! Well deserved!
  2. LOL ... something my wife would say too. My "minion" (aka sister) decide to go to the light side. I guess I'm not cut out to be a Sith Lord or something like that.
  3. Maybe clear history etc as recommended above? Im on iPad now so i'm sure it works.
  4. I started with making an Excel file of all the items I might need - there's a lot more than you think you would need beyond the armour. Then turned it into a tracker of all the things I've paid for, that's being shipped or has arrived. It does take the edge off you. Fortunately, my sister is into costuming now too so I had to do the same for her. Which is fun by the way shopping with other people's money (as she had no time to shop herself).... kills time while you save up enough.
  5. That is strange I log in just fine with iPad and iPhone.
  6. No problem! If you're thinking about a new suit I believe the sale is still on.
  7. Hi all, I took Bobojuice's advice and grabbed a Top and Bottom Eastbay Compression suit. They have it on sale now top and bottom for $29.99 (!) Anyways, first impressions and some thoughts to other TKs that might be wondering what suit to get. How does it feel? Feels REALLY great on your skin. I mean a little breeze and you feel cool. Not sure how the material does it but it really does cool your down quite a bit. I'm sure it takes getting used to because I felt rather naked in it to be honest. I could wear this all day - it's not itchy like some other sportswear. Colours The black is VERY black - it doesn't show in this picture but it is not grey, or dark grey, it's plain black which is great. I'm sure after a few washes it will fade but for now it is a very good colour for what TK's need it for. Location of logos I don't have my AP armour done yet but from what I can tell the logos are #1 easily coloured black with not a lot of effort, and #2 are in really great locations where the armour would cover them anyways. Sizing I'm 5'10 and 160lbs - would consider myself athletic build. I went with Medium for both top and bottom and they fit VERY well. Conclusion I am very happy I did not shell out over $100 for UA comparable wear because this is really great stuff and to pay more than double for almost the same thing? I'm not sure about that - I was very much into UA prior to this purchase. I'm converted.
  8. Nice Oso - man I got some crazy Canuck standards to live up to now!
  9. SWEET! Just got an agreement to get one from one of the guys at the Rebel Legion - quite ironic. Happy now!
  10. Canada customs seems to have an issue with folks receiving toy guns via mail. I guess it is to the discount bins for me!
  11. Dammit just read some stuff that made me think twice about buying the Hasbro E-11 from Trooperbay. Not sure if it is wise now. Anyone know if I can get a Hasbro E-11 in Canada?
  12. Heya! - you're definitely NOT too short and you'll be able to fit in armour with some tweaking provided you start with the right ones off the bat (ie. RT-Mod would be too big for example...) I would start by reading every thread under the "Getting Started" section There's also a lot of female troopers here and I'm sure they will all be able to help you out. Don't be shy and hit them up via PM. I just started myself so happy to share my learnings with you if you wish!
  13. For me I tend to go to a lot of Cons in Canada and US so I cross borders and stuff. I don't want my "good" blaster to be confiscated at the Canadian border. If they take a plastic Hasbro I would be less heartbroken than if they took my "photo-quality" E-11. Good! Basically just what I wanted to hear... gonna grab one now.
  14. Hi all, if y'all haven't figured it out yet I go to quite a few Cons and wondering if a painted Hasbro is somewhat passable in that environment. I'm getting a DD's E-11 Resin kit and that'll be for the "official" or formal events but for random Cons I was thinking of just painting up a Hasbro gun and using that in my holster --- if the RCMP (or Police here in Canada) yoinks that from me no biggie. Thoughts?
  15. Even before joining FISD, I knew there was something off about Rubies. Now that I know more it's even more gross! *bleh*
  16. Note to self --- glue sniper plate!
  17. That would be awesoe man. I appreciate that! My sister too.
  18. Aidan, nothing much really changes in marriage except one thing - guilt free spending. That's gone forever. LOL
  19. I think I've eventually convinced her after a few years of marriage that I ain't changing ever from my geek ways. So she's sort of given up (more like realized that I am genuinely happy revelling in my hobbies). She didn't even blink an eye when I was playing SWTOR in my Sith robe (profile pic)....
  20. Thanks Vern. I'll give that one a try. I need to make it child-proof. I got a young boy over here that is sure to devastate it when he gets the chance.
  21. Hey all, has anyone ever tried to "seal" a doopy doo's E-11 kit prior to priming and painting. I'm just thinking that maybe a light coat of a clear sealant at strategic locations (not sure what yet - some ideas are woodland scenics "water" or even light coat of white glue) might give it extra structural integrity on a troop. Any shiny-ness from the sealant can be dulled by a matte paint sealer after the fact. Just a thought?
  22. Real nice! Good job man - note to self ... super glue.
  23. You will be seeing in me in a brand-new AP armour kit courtesy of Mark with all the upgrades when I'm dead. I'm going for EIB right off the bat if I can. I hope the certificate makes it to me before I perish in the black hole of forever owing my significant other --- though I did barter with her that if I got my kit she gets to go to the Dominican Republic for a week ... I think she won that one (again) .. ps. Tom those are GREAT mottos to live by.
  24. Final payment on my armour kit and upgrades sent... I'm going to go throw up now. On a good note that means my kit should be arriving shortly. On a bad note, I need to explain to the wife the credit card bill. Haha...
