  1. Nice idea. I'll be waiting for an update on the final prototype (especially since you'll be doing a RT helmet).
  2. Hope you can keep it a surprise. It will be worth it. Btw: this thread = EPIC WIN I think you made the right decision. You literally got him the best and no mess to boot.
  3. I've noticed over the last week or more that Photobucket has been extremely slow at loading pages, especially when trying to use the Bulk Uploader. And that is regardless of internet browser (IE or Chrome) or new version of Photobucket or the old version. I've tried about every variety and keep running into the same issue. Now if you upload a single photo at a time, it isn't bad.
  4. Definately still here Noah, just short on time these days. Ahola - I'll get you snaps as soon as I can buddy. Rob did a few new things and a few extras I had asked for, so I'm sure see something of interest. I won't be able to say much about the rest of the kit as I won't be starting on it until later in June, but when I get going, I'll be sure to post a ton of pics for everyone.
  5. May 27th, 2012 Wow. It's been over a month since I've even been on the site, let alone had a chance to think about or even work on my TK. Between work, wedding planning, and my auto hobbies I haven't had a chance to do anything. I've got a few purchase updates and thats about it for now as my wedding is next weekend followed by the honeymoon and such. I'm hoping to really dig into the build in late June or early July once life goes back to normal. Anyhow, without further adue, here are some pics of the most recent acquisitions. First off, fellow FISD member Nasty Noah hooked me up with some sweet split rivots for my build (and enough for my buddy Cody's build too). Thanks Noah! Your generousity is greatly appreciated. Second, I received my Thermal Detenator 1" Clips from FISD Member TK4702. They are very nice and came with a couple bonus items. Third was something I had been waiting for a bit, but once received, I knew it was well worth the wait. It was my TK Neck Seal (size 16.5) from FISD member Ladysewforus. The fit and finish were great. Definately a winner. Last but certainly not least was my most eagerly anticipated purchase that was coming from RT-Mod Rob. My ANH Hero TK Kit!!!!!! First is the obigitory box photo Here is the entire kit all wrapped up like presents at Christmas. Rob hooked me up with a few custom mods to the Hero Helmet which I'll share in my next installment. But I couldn't resist popping it on and snapping a quick pic (while sporting my "Trap" shirt and watching ROTJ on Spike). I'm really excited to get going on this and get everything assembled. I think I have all that I need to put together my complete TK Costume. Now I just need some time. 6. lol... I keep track of most of my projects. They almost always go over the original budget I set in the beginning. But its nice to know what I've got invested. I've been away for a bit, haven't had any free time at all to devote to my TK. Although I should be hearing from Robb soon as my armor should be shipping in Mid May. But right now I'm preparing for Race Season and my upcoming wedding in June, not to mention I just finished getting my AWS Certification for welding (I decided to back to school to learn some new skills). Needless to say, when I say I have had no free time, I really haven't had any. I can't wait to get back to this. Hopefully sooner than later. Thanks Noah for helping me out with the hardware too!!
  7. Zombies and Star Wars, two of my favorite things together. Awesome work!
  8. Looking really good Noah. There should be more TK's rocking guitars!
  9. Same ones I picked up too. I think they were on sale when I got em - Seemed like it was a "Buy any 2 Eastbay brand items for $30" promotion.. So I ended up getting mine for $14.99 ea . You just can't beat that.
  10. Is that the same Amanda that does the MMA style fighting?
  11. Happy Happy Happy Birthday! I hope you both get to get dressed up (in TK garb) and have a fun night on the town!!!
  12. Pack of 100 eh? You have some extras that you would sell Noah? LMK. I'd like to get enough for a couple kits (me and a buddy's TK's). Send me a PM if you can help. Thanks!
  13. Where did you pick up the accurate split rivots Noah?
  14. RT-Mod offers the Hero bucket as well. Mine is currently in process.
  15. I just used some Krylon Fusion (paint for plastics) in Satin Black. Sprayed mine before I trimmed out the face plate (eyes, teeth, etc).
  16. March 28th, 2012 (update 2) As mentioned before, I do have a few other things that I've purchased and received this month. The first is probably one of the coolest things I've been able to pick up to date. I was lucky enough to get in touch with Lewis (FISD Screen Name slavefive) and snag one of his last E11 Hyperfirm blasters. I picked up a "D" ring from Trooperbay and sent it to him for use with the blaster. Upon receiving this, I was in awe. It is a beautiful piece, looks to be durable, and just makes me grin when holding it (feeling a bit like a TK already). Knowing that I was going to own a kick an butt E11, I knew I needed a kick an butt ANH holster to hold in all that goodness, so I got in touch with TK Bondservnt 2392 and got one coming. I was again impressed with the quality craftsmenship and quick turn around on this item. It was a perfect match for my new E11. I also picked up a couple things for my dremel tool, including some cutting discs, sanding drums, and a multi-purpose bit that should help in finishing up my helmet and later on crafting my RT-Mod armor. NEW PURCHASES * Hyperfirm E11 Blaster from slavefive (FISD screen name) - $225.00 (+25.00 Shipping) - Weapons * ANH E11 Holster from TK Bondservnt 2392 (FISD screen name) - $65.00 (included shipping) - Enhancements * 60 Grit Dremel Brand Sanding Bands (6 pk), PN 408-01 from Wal-Mart - $3.17 - Materials * Heavy Duty Dremel Brand Cut-Off Wheels (20 pk), PN 420-01 from Wal-Mart - $5.77 - Materials * Multi-Purpose Dremel Brand Bit, PN 561-01 from Wal-Mart - $3.97 - Tools CATEGORY TOTALS TO DATE: Helmet/Armor: $488.90 previous + $0.00 = $488.90 Weapons: $19.99 previous + $250.00 = $269.99 Enhancements: $433.75 previous + $65.00 = $498.75 Tools: $102.64 previous + $3.97 = $102.64 Materials: $57.27 previous + $8.94 = $66.21 Literature/Misc: $17.25 previous + $0.00 = $17.25 GRAND TOTAL TO DATE: $1289.14 previous + $327.91 = $1617.05
  17. March 28th, 2012 Finally, I took the plunge and sent Rob my deposit for my RT-Mod armor. I was going to go with a "Lite" kit but realized the helmet I was working on had a "stunt" face plate and not the "Hero" that I was wanting (my own fault, not ATA's). Knowing that I was going for a hero build, I decided the little bit of extra cost to get a fully assembled helmet from RT-Mod would be money well spent. That way I had a nicely built Hero helmet and I would have my stunt helmet that I built for use or display as I saw fit. Needless to say, the May "deliverey date" can't come soon enough. I sent a set of Bubble lenses to Rob to have those installed. I've asked him to see if he can leave a small gap at the bottom of the lenses to help with air flow. I also asked him to paint the inside of the Hero helmet in a satin black, similar to what I've done to my ATA Stunt helmet in my previous posts. He was great about helping with those considerations. I got a few other things in the mail this past week, but I'll post those up later. I hope to get a bit of time this weekend to finish cutting out the face of my ATA helmet and maybe even get it assembled. NEW PURCHASES * Deposit for RT-Mod Full ANH Hero Kit - $250.00 - Helmet/Armor CATEGORY TOTALS TO DATE: Helmet/Armor: $238.90 previous + $250.00 = $488.90 Weapons: $19.99 previous + $0.00 = $19.99 Enhancements: $433.75 previous + $0.00 = $433.75 Tools: $102.64 previous + $0.00 = $102.64 Materials: $57.27 previous + $0.00 = $57.27 Literature/Misc: $17.25 previous + $0.00 = $17.25 GRAND TOTAL TO DATE: $1039.14 previous + $250.00 = $1289.14
  18. No problems here accessing via my phone or IE on my comp
  19. I'm keeping a pretty good running total in my Build Log thread.. All I can say is, "Budget? What is this thing you call Budget? I've not heard of such a thing..."
  20. Pretty sweet looking. Definately a stark contrast to the standard TK. A+ I can't believe how glossy/shiny it is too.
  21. I had basically the same observations bigironvault. I ordered 11's as that is my "street shoe" size (Vans/Hawks) and had to return the TK 11's I got as I was swimming in them. The 10's I received were much better but still a pinch too big. Doing the same as you, dropping in an insole and wearing a thicker sock.
  22. Awesome! Thanks for doing that. I'll be ordering some soon.
