I used velcro for the center of my belt, and snaps for the sides. Saved me a bit of effort. Seems to hold up just fine too.

I doubt those strips are strongly magnetic enough to hold it tight. You could experiment and let us know how it goes, but I wouldn't expect much to come of it. Velcro will probably be a better fit for the problem.

So yeah, I also have an RT mod bias here, but I have to say no trimming made me a very, very happy man. I think it's worth the extra moolah. Assuming you haven't already made your decision.

I kind of like that beat up look. When you have dinged up spots on it, paint it all black, then detail them with a flat aluminum and some careful brush work. Here's a pic of my Hasbro mod so you can see what I mean about detailing.

Aw shucks, you're gonna make me blush. I'll look over your build thread again to see how you did that, it won't hurt to see if your method right now works better. Plus, it'll give me something else to tinker with, as if this hasn't cost me enough time and minor cuts with scissors. (I'm like the running joke in my family now).

I'm going to change my approach to the thighs. I'm going to put them on first now and really wiggle my hands around. I'm using industrial velcro instead of elastic and snaps (since the snaps kept breaking), so I can probably get another inch or two out of it with both of these. I think the shoulder bells are sagging a little because they pull my webbing bridges off to the side. I don't really see any way around that one to be honest, so I may just have to deal with it. And yes, the knee pack was bloody hard. My big question is, is there anything here to prevent me from getting approval?

I've tried. I can try harder but I think that's all the height I can get out of them.

Belt's a little caddy-wompas I know, but I was jittery getting ready now that I'm all done. Thoughts?

I actually just tinkered with the cod, but I have no idea how to raise the butt. It's flush with the kidney, which is strapped to my abdomen. I suppose I could attach it to the back, but I'm not sure how exactly I'd get this monkey suit on that way. As to the TD, I didn't paint it at all. That's precisely the way rob sent it. Inseam was 32 last time I measured. Two last things. How can I get the shins to fit better? And is it customary to sound like the gorram tin man from the Wizard of Oz while walking around?

OK, so I've done a few things you can see in these photos. I've widened the thighs a bit, and I got creative with the shins since they don't close around my calves. But the big thing I'm concerned with is how the shins and the thighs just sort of run into each other. I need advice on what to do. And here's a close-up on those legs.

So, during a trial fitting of the lower half, my thighs and my calves are hitting each other and the sniper plate is tucking under the thigh. I take this to mean I have to do some trimming, but my question is, do I trim the bottom of the calves or the top of the thighs? Sadly, no pics. I have no convenient cameraman around today. EDIT I am going to install a shim in the backs of the thighs to see if that raises them up more.

All right. shortened the elastic and took new pics. I think it's improved now.

All right. The time for more feedback is now. I ran out of decent snaps and I'm in a rush to finish for Episode I, so I'm temporarily using velcro and some snaps. Until I have time to remove it and use all snaps. So from the front I think I look decent. But from the back? Godawful mess. Let me know how to deal with this please. EDIT: I think that it's lop-side because the straps were sliding around my shoulders

You really need the pliers for the snaps. It'll make your life a lot easier. I got mine on Amazon.
