I've always carried mine around, except my last troop at the Comic Expo. That the was the first time ever I've had it holstered. (And realized that when it is, it pulls my belt down, so one of the things on my to do list to fix) But wondering now, in light of the theft of yours, what would be a good way to keep it secured besides the snap...

We have one guy in our garrison that can go while suited up. I have not observed... but he says "you just shift it all to the left" LOL

One thing to note Keith. Garrisons have elections every year, so it's possible that the current CO would not be voted into the position next year. You have to be a Legion member and member of that garrison to cast your own vote. Sorry to hear you went through something like this. On our garrison site, when we have a new members sign up, one of the questions that is asked is if the person is a guest, working on a costume or already a legion member. If they are working on a costume then they have access to certain forums to ask questions, etc but don't see any of our event stuff. Once they are a legion member they can sign up for events, etc. Guests only get a guest forum where they can ask questions, or use our contact form on our website.

As stated, the Legion earned nearly 12 million dollars for Charity. Definitely let them know why we do it. Show them photos of troopers in the hospital, at the Walk for Autism and such. Maybe they will understand what it is we really do, and we're not (just) a bunch of nerds who like to play star wars dress up

Our garrison GML started getting cracks in his HIPS, reinforced, other cracks formed, he's now reinforcing everywhere. If you want to it last, go ABS.

Someone has bad battery life? You might want to talk to Jim, I know he replaced a bad battery for someone else. I charge my Aker the night before a troop and I've done 6 hours so far, with the iComm in VOX and an mp3 player running through it and it was still going strong. I like random static bursts myself.

I wear 11 street shoes and my 11 TK boots fit me perfectly. I've had no problem with them. My feet don't come out or slip out. I wear a dive skin, and then wear black dress socks. Also, I have velcro that sticks to the inside of the boot and that attaches to the inside of the shins.

I don't use the PTT cable at all. My mic goes into the icon, the icomm to the aker and then the iPod shuffle goes into my aker as well and plays the TK trooper loop, so almost same setup as Jim. I've noticed that when large sound systems go off or people talk through them my mic will pick that up so you'll hear me going click-idy-click-click through out that. Hey Jim, if I read this correct you are thumping your mic to get a static burst, waiting for that to clear, talking and then getting the end burst? Never thought about trying to get a static burst before talking.

Also remember that even if you find someone who will assemble your armor, you still may have to modify it to fit your body. If it doesn't, you might not be approved. Second, once you get your armor, put it on and stand around for 2 hours. Try to walk fast in your armor. 15 minutes in your living room won't be any comparison. You never know what you'll end up doing on a troop, and that armor bite will hurt like a mother. Which means you're still going to have to modify/cut certain areas to fit properly. Truth be told I think I spent the first 5-6 troops modifying things to the point where I wasn't getting armor bite, as bad. I still get it here or there depending on what we end up doing.

I initially bought the RS amp for the same reason. I had feedback city, no matter what mic I used. I finally gave up trying and got the Aker amp. A whole new world, the Aker rocks, no feedback at all, works great with the iComm! The RS now runs an mp3 that my 7 year old daughter uses in her Jawa. For that stuff it's a great amp but as I read and found out it was never designed to be use for voice. I hope though it works well for ya! But I highly recommend getting a 10watt Aker.

My under suit is a 1 piece lycra dive skin, cost about $30 bucks at the local dive shop. Some people like two piece, some like one. Mine is pretty snug fit. As mentioned previously, no sagging, baggy pants etc.

I've been curious for a while what "armor" Disneyland is using for their Jedi Academy show. Found today a high resolution image of one of their guys walking around. What "armor" do you think this is? And correct me if i'm wrong but is the bucket and ab buttons a mix of ANH and ESB color wise/stripes etc...

If it's factory sealed, how did he take a pict of it on his desk.
