  1. You've got to keep in mind that the armor is important, but don't forget that's only part of the equation. It has to fit you to tee. As already pointed out earlier in the thread, you should really read this thread: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/ There is one other thing to remember.....have patience. Members here will try and keep you from making costly mistakes on impulse buys because you'd like some armor today or tomorrow. These recommendations come from helping other individuals over the years. Yes.... Most of the recommended makers have long wait lists. Why? Everyone wants top quality armor! It's worth the wait. What are you supposed to do while waiting? Work on accessories and such. Help out your local Garrison/Outpost by being a handler/wrangler. Believe me.... They will appreciate it, and it will give you a taste of the 501st. You don't have to pay me any attention. I've only been in the 501st officially for a few weeks. I worked on accessories and such while pulling handler duties for two years as I was saving up for RS Props. The people here are always willing to help a new person. I'm thankful for the members here and my Outpost mates for keeping me focused for so long. Enjoy! Patrick
  2. But it's officially licensed for MEN. It has to be awesome. Why? Pants are optional.... Who wants to wear pants? Seriously though... Jabba the bucket. Hands down.
  3. Hmmmm..... Let me read the description first. "Does not include pants." SOLD!
  4. I just received the email from the LMO Thank everyone that helped me along the way! I'm so stoked right now..... ------------- Thanks! Patrick a.k.a 'Joker' - See what I did there?
  5. Top hole: 1.5" inch from the top - 1/8" from the edge Bottom hole: 1" from the bottom - 1/8" from the edge Middle hole: 3 7/8" above the bottom hole - 1/8" from the edge I tried to measure from center hole. They're pretty small holes though lolol The cover strip isn't exactly centered either. If you are looking at the back of the calves as if someone was wearing it, the cover strip is 'slightly' shifted to the inside to help hide the fact that the backs are not glued. I literally mean slightly...less than 1/8". I don't have the best of measuring devices. It's really a small shift, but noticeable to the eye when looking up and close.
  6. For how RS Props does the holes, here you go. Notice they are not equally spaced. They basically put on at the top and bottom, and another just before the widening of the calves. If you need me to bust out the ruler for you, I can. Sidenote: It's quite nice seeing my pics helping someone
  7. I've been sitting in my garage the past few hours splicing wires and soldering. I've never done this type of thing in my life lol. I'm completely winging it. It may not be pretty, but so far everything is working as intended. First time soldering, using a dremel, gluing stuff (Elmers in school doesn't count), and other basic craft-related stuff.... I think I finally understand what it means to come to the dark side lol.
  8. If you get second, do you think you might be able to snap a photo this? I'm on the same boat. We had a Sandy who did the same thing as, but I never got a good look at it. The waist ammo pouches are a breeze lol.
  9. The CRL says one thing, but I'm reading another in threads. I think that my game version pack (Quartermasters from 18 Nov 2011 thread) is going to be too big to place it. It 'might' fit, but can't guarantee it until I suit back up. All I have left is to actually attach my pouches and submit my application/pictures. My Outpost Liason wanted me to double-check everything before he submits my application because he's 8 hours away and can't put eyes on himself. Everything else is good....I think lolol. Thanks! Patrick
  10. It's amazing what you sometimes forget you purchased. I actually purchased one and a suit of compression armor last year for just this day. It was hidden in one of those random boxes you sometimes collect stuff in, and it still had the tags on them lol. It actually kept the sweat out of my face and eyes while I was doing an electronics/self suit up test today. It worked great! On a side note, it was not fun suiting by myself. Lots of curse words were yelled lol.
  11. I was gathering my electronics and such and finally found my balaclava. Unfortunately, it's definitely meant for cold weather sports. I did initially buy it for skiing lol. It's definitely not going to work....at all. So I pose the question. What balaclava do you use? On a side note, these caught my eye: http://www.amazon.com/HeatGear-Tactical-Headwear-Under-Armour/dp/B004P8AE0O/ref=sr_1_1?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1370116562&sr=1-1 --or-- http://www.amazon.com/UKARMS-Lightweight-SWAT-Balaclava-Tactical/dp/B0093JBIQO/ref=pd_sbs_a_26
  12. I can do that. The lighting is bad in my house so I'll setup the table outside and get some good shots. It won't be until the weekend though.
  13. Ok... I did a test fit. It took some time to get it on. I'm definitely going to need a handler lol. It fit great! It was tight, but not too tight. The one-piece suit is pretty warm though, but extremely sturdy. Add some fans and my mic system, and I'm good to go....well at least until I have some proper pictures to see if anything needs adjusting. I honestly don't think any is needed, but that won't be my call. I've definitely got to work on putting it all on lol. I took a stroll down the street and visited a couple of kids that were playing in the neighborhood. They liked it. These are not proper pictures. My bicep slipped down in the pictures. My roommate was laughing because I couldn't reach it to put it back up lol. --------
  14. I just wanted to get this up there as I don't have time right this minute to do a test fit, but a quick slide of the bicep/forearm felt just right. This is the unpacking of the RS Props Armor as a complete and fully assembled set. Included is everything to make this basically turn-key....all from RS Props. I just need to add my electronics. Most people know the armor, but the accessories are not mentioned much. Armor/Helmet - Worth noting that they don't add mesh inside. Undersuit - It's a one-piece w/long front zipper Neckseal - It's leather! Gloves Boots - Painted black boots Blaster - You guys will have to tell me if it is ANH or ESB Weapons holster Belt for holding thighs ---------- I'll do a test fit in a couple of hours. If anyone was curious about a particular item, just let me know. Thanks! Patrick
  15. I had to call and have them take to the FedEx office instead of the house. My street is blocked for repaving. Yes... I can't even drive to my house right now (I have to hoof it). I'm 'hoping' I'll be able to pick it up tonight. If not, definitely tomorrow.
  16. I hadn't heard from RS Props in a couple of weeks so I decided to pop them an email. I got a reply back pretty fast apologizing that, basically, it was overlooked that I hadn't been notified that my armour had shipped. I put the number in the tracking and seen it was already in Los Angeles as of yesterday. The problem was I didn't know what carrier would be used to actually get to Alaska so I gave them a call. They informed me that it had been transferred to FedEx and gave me the new tracking number. It was already here in Anchorage and out on a truck for delivery I can officially get excited now... Patrick
  17. It's the last piece I need for my Sterling. Absolutely stunning details, creativity, and hard work.
  18. Was it a lot, if you don't mind me asking? The reason I ask is I have to plan my purchases out, and I would be pretty upset if I don't have enough set aside in case I run into the same issue. If it's something like $300-400, then I've got to do some shuffling on my finances to cover. If it's something you don't want to share, I'll understand.
  19. Don't scare me..... I talked to them last week. I'm waiting on my shipping information.
  20. I finally have all the little bolts and pieces missing from my demil'ed Sterling. So now comes the question about the magazine and the counter. How far should the magazine stick out of the housing? I've seen quite a few different lengths. I picked up two clips. One is in so so condition, but the other is pristine. The so so will be practice so I know what I'm doing when I start cutting the pristine one lol. Lastly, where exactly on the counter should it be mounted? I want to ensure I line it up correctly. Thanks! Patrick
  21. Ok... I had already started on the silver layer so I had to finish it up. Next comes the hammered black layer. Last question on this. What order is best for the last three steps: Weather, Paint clear flat, and Assemble?
