  1. This would have been so much faster lolol. It's a learning experience for me. I've already made some painting fubars. I'm off to build my mini paint booths so I can actually hang the pieces and finish painting. Some of the parts stuck to the plastic sheet and others were ruined from flipping. I have to fix those first lol. Three mini paint booths for $12
  2. I seen the Hammered black spray paint. I didn't pick it up because, as you said, it seemed a tad glossy. I didn't even think about spraying the flat over it lol. As far as the steel wool goes, which size would probably be better? The 1 or the 00?
  3. We have a squadron event Friday evening that is going to involve lots of water ballons, water guns, and nerf guns. Yesterday the boss was wanting everyone to have some type of shield. Even though price was more motivation than creativity, I picked up some paint pans, painted them black, and added zip ties to use as handles. I brought them this morning and my office loved them. Now...they've picked up some nerf guns and would like them painted to look awesome. Guess who they asked to it? If I'm going to do this, I would like to do this right. I only have two afternoons to paint 3 guns. Luckily no motorized guns are allowed so I don't have to worry about any electronics. Here is what I picked up at lunch: Plastic primer spray paint Brilliant silver spray paint Flat black spray paint Oil-rub bronze spray paint (I just like the look of it) Steel wool - 1 Steel wool - 00 General Plan? Primer Paint silver Paint black or bronze Weather with steel wool Am I on the right track? Believe me when I say any guidance is much appreciated. Thanks! Patrick
  4. I wouldn't say I ruined my first kit.....but I ruined my first kit lol. I trimmed it way way too much. Luckily, I got the kit second hand at a discount so I wasn't worried about that. Over the past two years, I've managed to acquire all I need and then some. Since my first kit was, more or less, a test, I've placed my order with RS with it already put together according to my measurements. I'm just waiting for my armor. It should be here shortly. I foresee some adjustments, but nothing major. I was measured twice so maybe I'll be ok. Once done, I'll be able to switch out between TK and TK-HWT at a moments notice. On a side note, I'm going to get my Sterling up to par (definitely something I can handle I think) and I'm on the list for Woodchuck to build me something....special . I still haven't decided if I actually want to troop with the Sterling or not because of the weight. It has quite a bit of it. What have I been doing for two years other than spending money? Handling when I can. As they say here, any handler is always welcome. "Shut up and drink this water!"
  5. I would find it awesome if there were a few 501'st members in the new movies as well This also may sound a little sad, but it's little funny. They need to be a little sneaky too lol. Not to spoil the movie, but to capture those tiny details for building any new costumes/weapons AFTER the premiere. Well....be respectfully sneaky if that makes sense.
  6. We were just wondering about armor for the new movies. Anyone have any insight on the matter? If they are going to have Stormies, and what is Star Wars without them, someone is going to have to mass produce something. We are in that timeframe where a company should, at a minimum, be identified....at least I think so. Unfortunately, the 'R' company came to mind since they are licensed. We're just kinda hoping for some good news on this front if any news has been put out there yet. Even my coworkers agree that the 'R' company should be avoided....and they based that decision off simple pictures lol.
  7. When I contacted them and we worked what I needed, they told me 2 to 2.5 months not including shipping time. This is just how things are going with my order. It will vary depending on their current workload/schedules and what you ordered. Keep in mind that RS Props is one of the best armor makers out there. Quality takes time... Good luck with your purchase
  8. Alright Andy.... Add me to your interest list for two of these. I'll need some guidance on which version though.... Thanks! Patrick
  9. Thanks! Some better lighting: http://s196.photobucket.com/user/joker1231978/slideshow/
  10. I'm afraid that it is going to take more than originally thought. Here are some pictures I took. http://s196.photobucket.com/user/joker1231978/library/Sterling%20E-11%20Blaster Already have: Another Hengster Correct Scope Got them from here: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/23703-real-scopes-real-counters-for-sale/ Set #1 - Thanks TK Bondservnt 2392! I have to say awesome job packing and definitely fast shipping. I thought they were going to beat the blaster here lol. Things I know I need: Magazine (just need to know which one on Apex to get. There are a few different ones) Bolts on the end (gonna require cutting/welding) Better T-track Mounting track for scope ???? The cylinder part is weird. It was held on with magnets. Please take a look at the photos. My lighting is pretty bad. If you need a clearer picture on something, let me know and I'll take it outside for better lighting. Considering I'm going to have to find someone to do this work (probably gonna be another pretty penny), the fact there are some things I don't think can be corrected, and I'm going to have to get more parts, is it worth to continue? Finding someone to do the work here in Anchorage is the biggest hurdle. I've contacted a few places, and no one wants to touch it. I hate Alaska sometimes..... Patrick
  11. Alrighty... I'm pretty sure I understand barrel bolts on the muzzle. They are only $2 each so I'll add those to the cart with the clip. I also noticed I need this: https://www.apexgunparts.com/product_info.php/cPath/83/products_id/1184 Here is a decent shot of the other side: I don't think much can be done considering the innards have been completely replaced with a solid receiver throughout the blaster. Oh well..... I'll still be smiling when it gets here.
  12. Alrighty then lol. That takes care of the counter, scope, and clip. Any other glaring issues? Is that how the wiring from the counter is suppose to be ran (if it had the right connectors)?
  13. Let's start with the glaring stuff first: the counter and scope.... Any chance I can get one of those sets you're offering TK Bondservnt2392? It will have to wait until tomorrow though with my bank limit and all lol. I'm in Alaska. Actually, here is the link to the store. These are all the pictures that he added today. It looks like the magazine clip is a standard clip just cut down. http://yhst-5672966975550.stores.yahoo.net/swste11.html
  14. I did lol. I talked to AJ on the phone this morning to see if he had any on-hand. He changed the website pictures to the actual one sitting on his desk and I went ahead and grabbed it. Question for you: "counter needs a replacement front end and clip" - Is this three different things or two? AJ explained the counter wasn't functioning and the red tip is for BATF stuff. Is that what you were referring to?
  15. I thought it might ESB, but wanted to confirm. If you know, what level of cert would the blaster be for someone with ESB TK armor? Just curious for possible sell/trade purposes. Regardless, it looks like another blaster is in my future. Thanks! Patrick
  16. No need to discuss their armor. I already know However, I haven't read anything on the E-11 that they have. My armor is due in a few weeks and it includes their E-11. Does anyone have one? Thoughts/comments compared to other popular vendors/kits out there? The biggest question I'm trying to figure out is what level of costume certification does the blaster have out of the box. I'll be submitting basic TK and basic TK-HWT initially and was wondering if I'll need to start searching around for another blaster if I want to go EIB or higher. Thanks! Patrick
  17. It says "It is ANH and ESB accurate". I'm confused....
  18. One of things that I've seen them do here is when a kid is scared, they will turn their heads away from the them and put their hand up to cover their mask. I always laugh when they do it lol. Of course, there is always that one kid that just stands there and stares relentlessly. It doesn't matter what anyone does or says. The kid doesn't move lol. I'm learning a lot from the troopers here. It's always nice to hear about other trooper experiences though. I don't think I'll have too much of an issue staying in character. I'm just not that quick on my feet.
  19. I was just curious about something, and thought I would ask the general question here. The things you think about when you can't sleep lol. There is a Sandie here that seems to be great at answering questions from kids and adults alike. Just straight off the cuff, he's great about always answering questions and always tying it to the Empire or Lord Vader or just something Star Wars related. Me? I'm not that great of a bs'er and have never been good at coming up with anything on the fly. I envy people that have the talent of the tongue so to speak. So I was thinking. I wonder what other troopers say. What are some of the on-the-fly answers you've given to questions? The most rememberable answers normally bring the biggest smiles, laughs, or shocks by the people/kids around. Let's see what you got.... Patrick EDIT: Forgive the bad english in the subject title. I'm better at speaking 'red neck'.
  20. Aww..... Hikishop is cheaper. That's ok though. That's two confirmed places then. Any other places? Hikishop http://hikishop.com/ww2-german-40mp-leather-pouches-one-pair-exact-replica-p-286.html History Bunker http://www.thehistorybunker.co.uk/acatalog/Field_Equipment_-_Ammo_pouches__Holsters__Y-straps__Mess_tins.html
  21. I figured I would pass this along to current/future HWT's out there. If this is common knowledge, then I apologize. These are my pouches. This set is the same as the one pictured in the HWT CRL. For some reason, I can't get the picture rotated lol. I ordered them from http://www.thehistorybunker.co.uk/acatalog/shop_index.html. Just search MP40 and they are about 1/2 down the page. I emailed for availability before ordering and received a reply the next day stating they had plenty in stock. I placed my order and had them in my hands in a week. Again, just passing along some information. This was the second place I tried. The first place ripped me off (still fighting w/PayPal on it).
