  1. Cool, thanks for the clarification on that.
  2. Hi guys Now I know that the FX helmet is not acceptable for EIB and the AM helmet is essentially the FX helmet with a modified dome so I have always just assumed that the AM helmet is a no go for EIB but I was wondering if I am making the correct assumption there? What got me wondering was the change to the CRL that specifically mentions the AM shins and yet the helmet section still just specifies the FX helmet as being unacceptable for EIB. So..... in case my rambling has confused people, is the AM helmet acceptable (with the correct mic tips added) for EIB? Cheers Kade
  3. Keep the name simple, the easier it is to type the less likely that people will enter it incorrectly. (and be able to remember it)
  4. I haven't built an AP kit (I have an AM) but I found the helmet to be the trickiest part of the build so if you have that complete you shouldn't have any problems with the rest. I started on the biceps and forearms and then went to thighs and shins and then came back to the ab and back sections when I built mine. I don't think you need to do it in any particular order, just whatever you are comfortable with, although the guys with more build experience than me might have a different opinion.
  5. I have a resin and PVC blaster that I built and the blaster itself doesn't have sound but I bought a Trikboard from TrikToys for the static burst/voice modulation effect but it also has a blaster sound effect that you can trigger from a switch on the end of a cable. I just run the cable down my arm and into my glove and I can push the button when I pretend to fire the blaster
  6. I did the same thing with the butt plate on my AM kit, it has three straps connecting it to the kidney plate all up and it stays in place no problems. I also separated the codpiece from the ab plate.
  7. Yup as Spectre said the drop box straps need to be white and should be further around on the belt, essentially hanging underneath the end buttons on the belt. I love my AM kit too (even if I am - sigh - a little short to be a stormtrooper) Great pic with your sister in her costume one of the best bits about being a trooper is the smiles on kids faces and the adults too -
  8. Yup, I believe so. If I remember correctly one of the stormtroopers searching the Millennium Falcon while it was on the Death Star was carrying a DLT-19.
  9. I'm pretty busy at the moment but once the new semester gets underway perhaps I could offer my assistance if I have the time. If I'm able to do that who would I speak to?
  10. Oooh, I hadn't thought about that side of things, that would be a LOT of work.
  11. Ok, thanks, I figured there had to be some reason for, just didn't know what. Cheers
  12. Hi Guys I'm working on getting some pieces together so that with a couple of additions (pauldron, ammo pouches and backpack) and a spare belt my standard ANH TK can be converted into a Heavy Weapons Trooper and I was surprised to see on the CRL that the HWT is listed as a TD???? http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:FISD_CRL http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TD_hwt Just wondering why that is? The armour isn't TD so how come the costume prefix isTD? Cheers
  13. Hey Julie, I agree, it's a great game great storylines for each class really keep it interesting too. A bunch of us Terror Australis Garrison members have our own guild - OzEmpire - 'cause of the time zone difference, so if you seen anyone from OzEmpire cruising around feel free to say hi. The Redback garrison also have their own guild - Redbacks.
  14. Also the holster is worn on the right and hangs from loops over the belt rather than being riveted to it.
  15. Hi Spectre The AM kit comes with glue - ABS Cement. Paint - you will need a couple of humbrol paints - #5 medium grey and #15 midnight blue for the ab buttons.
  16. The power pack is definitely sitting too high. On the up side it seems to have been riveted so just drill out the rivets and re-position it. You could get rid of the incorrectly drilled holes by trimming the bottom corners of the power pack. Having the corners rounded off is a more screen accurate look also. If you go to this site TK300 and scroll down the page you will find some reference pics of the power pack that you may find useful.
