  1. Val is a beautiful girl and she's going to ROCK her armor. Thanks for posting more pics. They are helping me lots! Ok - sort of a personal question and you don't need to answer. Is V having trouble with the chest piece? I AM. It seems to me that the girls need to be 2 inches below the neck for the chest piece to fit right. haaa haa... I'll put more on my thread so you won't have to be bothered with silly GIRL stuff. Congrats on your GG staue!
  2. Next up.. arm parts... Thanks for taking a look, and any advice would be awesome! :)
  3. Updates. Here's the stuff I bought from Tandy Leather. I went to the store since shipping would have been 13. Also, I'd like to add that while I have no problem buyinh 2 or 3 boots for this armor, I re-use my painters tape. I thought that was sorta funny. Or WEIRD!!! Here's belt clips and DOMED 7mm rivets. They did not come in 8mm. This shows me cutting the left shin parts... I have not glued anything, yet. I was happy with the left side... So, just to be sure... the SHIM stays underneath the two shin parts, and you do NOT see it? Here's a closer pic of me wondering if I'm understanding how the leg connects... I would push the inside SHIM down when it's time to glue.. just showing that is IS IN THERE. I need to make this gap look better, yah?... My dang RIGHT CALF is bigger than my left... so having issues. [if you have an issue... here's a tissue!] I kept extra RIGHT LEG parts on the back - cause it's on the back... so hopefully not as noticeable... This is me attempting to make the two Right shin parts meet with as clean of a line and as little of a gap as possible. Is this okay? You can see the extra side I kept on the RIGHT INNER SHIN...
  4. My hubby's RT Mod had the thermal det and drop boxes included. I think even the back covers to the drop boxes were included. That was in 2012. I had to get the brackets / clips to hold the Thermal Det. on, though. I think I got them from Bondservnt. Have a fun build, Sean!
  5. Cool! And here I was pondering stealing the garage door opener clips! I like yer idea better. I'd have a monster looking set of armor if it wasn't for you and the other build threads.
  6. A W E S O M E S A U C E ! ! ! I love what you did... now to copy your work!!! thanks broh!!!
  7. Did some cutting and sanding. I am not sure how I want to connect these big belt boxes. Is the gap the correct way, or should there be no gap? ***I just noticed I taped that piece wrong - but I was going for the FLUSHED look as opposed to the gap look. *** Thanks for any feedback!
  8. Thanks for the updates and pics - it helps - and your wife is gorgeous!
  9. Yesssss... that was exactly what I was pondering. Thanks again!
  10. thankyouthankyouthankyou for those pics and info!!! I owe you some liquid bread.
  11. Looks awesome! Your pics are helping me. That beer looks good, too!
  12. I will post my questions on Kev's research thread. I'm not sure I cut enough on the chest / back pieces. I hope I didn't cut too much. It can all be fixed - either way.
  13. I was having some trouble with attaching pics, but I think this will work.
  14. Hey Jim! YEP. Definitely planning on taking the armor to GenCon. Congrats on your armor Abbie! Have a fun build. Hope we get to wear our armor at GenCon together! I've been cutting and sanding today. I hope to try on and [blue painter] tape up tomorrow and start gluing.
  15. Ah haaa... that makes sense. Thanks for the info.
  16. That helps! I was trying to figure out those little squares! I've been stuck working 12's - so not alot of time to play with my new toys. Congrats on the DLT 19! I'd like to get one... but must wait. On the compression top, I have a few cheapy ones... and I meant to get a nicer one, but never got around to it. The cheap ones work for shorter troops. For the helpmet- I have my AP one, but I might not worry about wearing it.... I won't be able to wear this armor on official troops... not that I know of, anyway. Have a fun build!
  17. Here are some threads that should help... http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/7713-howto-making-your-tk-as-accurate-as-possible/ I would say don't get too snug, and you can use padding for the AB / Kidney if being loose is annoying. It's better to have not much black showing, in general but I don't know about trimming off too much from the ab or kidney. Course, maybe that's best for your build...? Do you have some pics of yourself with the AB / Kidney taped on? I bet some other troopers will chime in. I've gone back to this pic time and time again. I know some troopers have a return edge, and I had intentions of doing them on my armor, but I had too much trouble with the heat iron I bought. I used a hair dryer just as much as the heat gun I bought for the bending parts... like the battery knee part and the shoulder straps. I have not read the whole thread - but found something on return edges. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/27412-return-edges/?hl=return+edge#entry347428 Your build is looking awesome! Keep up the good work.
  18. Thankyah, fellow troopers! I got THE BOX yesterday after working a 12 hour shift KNOWING THE BOX ARRIVED!!! Last night I took pictures, loaded the pics to photobuckt, and then got all ticked that my dang laptop was giving me fits, so I was not able to get these pics on here until I went to work and used their super band width or whatever it's called. I've got lots of the little abs boxes here at work and will start trimming then after 4pm... when certain bosses leave! haa haaa A small box, but then again, it's not exactly designed for dudes! Did you see that Kevin labelled me not "07" but "DOUBLE OH SEVEN!" [Kitty Vlad is investigating closely] Hubby has a awesome new t-shirt, unless I steal it. The packing skills of KW are amazing! There's a whole sheet of ABS - it makes a fun sound when you play with it. FOH.SHOH It's signed It's the chest piece that's signed... hmmmmm... haaa haaa - Nice sense of humor! There are labels inside the armor, which will help. There's "front" "back" - "A" and "B" ... "Left" and "Right" so I should be okay. That mess load of boxes has me a bit confused, but I will get my Gentle Giant Jes Gistang out, and pour over the pics on the forum and get it all figured out. Thanks for taking a look at my newest WIP. I also have a ROTJ Vader WIP going on, but he's at a stand still while I wait on getting on a list to wait for the next run for the chestbox and cape. The helmet is ordered, along with the leather / gloves. That's a whole other story, so I will get back on track on have something to show y'all after the weekend. Jen-Jen over and out!
  19. Thanks for the encouragement! Exciting stuff! Congrats to you and to Mrs Dan. I ordered both Giovanni and these ~ like KWDesigns has posted: Here is a link to the boots... http://www.newlook.c...oduct_298781310 Giovanni has these [see post #218] : http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/15279-jes-gistang-research-thread/page-11 I was IM-ing back and forth with Giovanni and we also have some posts on the research thread above, too... but G has an extra strap that is horizontal ?(goes from inner ankle to outer ankle) that he said he will REMOVE. I asked to have the sole and heel made a 1/2 inch taller. He said he is working on adding a 1/2 inch to the heel for his regular Jes Gistang boot. I don't know how long it will take for his boot.
  20. Just getting ready. The brown box from KWDesigns should be arriving in August. I have a boot order placed with Giovanni - crow62. I also ordered the boot that the girls from SDCC are wearing. I've got my E6000, white -n- black elastic, and nylon ready. I don't have snaps yet; not sure I will use them or my extra paper fasteners, but if I do, they'll get painted white. I already have the black gloves, neck seal, black undersuit, E11, and a TK helmet. I'm checking on the DLT-19, but it needs to wait a bit. TK 9496
  21. Giovanni beat me to it... haa haa.. I was going to tell you that I'm the same size as your wife and to look at post #218 and #223. I'm getting some custom boots from him.
  22. I've heard RS Props and Woodchuck - so I will check them both out. Thanks for the help!
  23. AMAZING! WOW! GREAT JOB! I've been trying to find the DLT weapon... any advice?
  24. Hey G, I think Kev is onto something... you can still make that change, yah? Sorry I missed that.. I was all about getting a little more height added. Thanks, J
