  1. Yeah they seem to be. Not so muhc expensive tools, but it would take a lot of time and experience I reckon.
  2. Haha that looks great Josh! Good work. Mine still has gaps in the ears too, but they're not very noticeable I reckon. That'd make an awesome christmas card picture! Haha.
  3. So I haven't done much recently, I went on schoolies for a week and have only just gotten back into the mindset to continue my armour. All I've done is glue one side of the inner and outer cover strips to the left forearm. I got so frustrated trying to atach the inner piece to the cover strip on the outer piece, but eventually I got it. I also smashed two magnets. >.> Which is annoyig because they were very expensive. I'm also a bit worried about how I am going to get the other side together, I may have to bend the cover strips or something, I can't reall see how else I am going to do it.
  4. yeah foam is great. The helmet only wobbles very slightly to the sides, but that's only when I turn with significant force (like a dramatic chipmunk turn. ) Other than that the two pieces along with the bit on the lens holds the helmet on my head really well. Originally I put the piece on the lens to stop it from cutting my nose, but it also helps for stability. That is indeed Trooperbay's S-trim neck seal, it works very well. I had to glue mine on becuase the ears were stopping it from staying on properly and it split a bit, so i glued it every few inches along the helmet. It's definitely worth getting.
  5. Wow how did you do that? O.o That's awesome!! Also the build is looking good Dianna. For my helmet padding I just used two pieces of foam as shown below, and it works perfectly. Sure it's not the prettiest, but it works a treat.
  6. Yeah I ruined my ears too, so Trooperbay sent me another pair haha. Yeah I freehanded the black outlines on the ears, and then later realised that the kit came with pinstripe decals. XD The vocoder on mine needs a bit of cleaning too I think, and another coat.
  7. Yeah, thanks so much for all the help so far Brian. Very very very much appreciated. Cheers Steve.
  8. Oh really? Thanks for the heads-up. I'll go have a look at it now.
  9. 'm a tad worried about how I have done the first shin. I feel I amy have cut it a bit lopsided, and I can't really correct it because as it stands the back can barely connect when I have my boots on...See how it also looks a bit lopsided? I don't think it's meant to look like that, and it has me worried. What should I do? :/
  10. That's a lot of snap plates. O.O How did you make them? Just scrap ABS? Or out of ABS strips?
  11. Ahh ok, so I'll have to glue mine on too, awesome Ooh I see. Dremels are just the best. They are so useful for all the fiddly work you have to do on your armour.
  12. Congrats TK9433!! Good work mate.
  13. Looking good man! I noticed halfway through that we have the exact same dremel too. So the ANH Stunt didn't have reivets in the sniper plate?
  14. Sooooo cooool. Also the polycarbonate tube was a great find! I'll be using that for my next blaster build I reckon.
  15. I think it is coming along nicely. Both biceps and forearms finished (although I think I may fix a few little edges and stuff) and my helmet was done ages ago. Now..where to go on to? The shins? The thighs? Oh the possibilities!...
  16. You need these for really screen accurate suits right? Or do you need them regardless of status?
  17. I think you need to trim back to where the ears meet the bottom of the helmet. So definitely trim the back of the helmet, as for the front, maybe trim on a bit of an angle so that the front isn't cut too much, but you still get the bottom of the helmet flush with the bottom of the ears. I have glued my S-trim on so I can't show you exactly how mine is, but I can show you how much I have trimmed roughly. My helmet is a different make (MTK) but still, the idea is the same. Hope this helps mate.
  18. Looks awesome mate! Well done, and good luck on approval.
  19. Wow that's awesome as, great work mate. You're just a little too tough man, you're scaring us.
  20. Made a few more cover strips just now. I have enough for the left bicep and forearm, and will cut the right bicep and forearm ones when I get home after work tonight.
  21. Ah ok, thanks. So more like this?
  22. Yeah, I am thinking I am gonna go with inner strips. Well that way I can save heeeaps of the plastic strips that came with the kit. The first few overlaps I trimmed I did in small bits at a time, which was out of cautiousness, but as I got more confident I cut them off whole. I have about 3 or 4 (I think) strips that I can use as inner cover strips on the biceps and forearms. I'll just need to trim the return edges off of the scrap. Thanks for the tip Brian! (P.S. I like that saying. )
  23. Yeah, that was just for the forearms and biceps. For the shins and thighs I'll have to wait and see what I do. I might end up cutting those a little wider than normal, maybe try and get four 22mm strips out of one 88mm strip. Then that will cover the front outside and inside hopefully, and then I will have to get four 25mm strips out of two big strips. That will leave a spare 13mm cut-off and a 63mm strip. They'll get used for something eventually.
  24. @tkrestonva Alright, sweet. I bent my arm when I had the pieces on in that photo, and with the undersuit on I think it'll be fine. The edges meet fine at the wrist, although I think the sides are different widths. At the elbow end, one side is 3cm from the start of the curve, and the other is 2.5cm. I should try to correct that shouldn't I? It's not really noticeable though, especially when I am wearing it. So I guess only I will really notice it, and I don't really wanna risk trimming any more off..so I might leave it. Like I said, you can barely notice the difference when it is on. @Julie PM sent. Thanks heaps for this!! (everyone here is so awesome! )
  25. Ok, I got a bit done today. I am now satisfied with the left bicep and forear. They fit nice and snug while still being comfortable, and as soon as I get some glue I will glue them together. Currently they are masking taped and clamped together. I have also started cutting the finishing strips, seeing as I have decided to use the butt-seam method. I am using the ABS strips that come with the AM kit to do these. So yeah, I might be able to find time tomorrow to do the right forearm and bicep, hopefully. The strips are marked LFA (left forearm) RFA (right forearm) LBC (left bicep) and RBC (right bicep). The words will be on the glue side, so they don't matter. I did this because I was getting confused as to how many I needed. Now I know which ones are going where.
