  1. Thanks you troopers. Great to know I'm doing something right.
  2. Perfect. I trimmed my forearms a bit too small so no return edge at the wrist will really help. Thanks Mark. I used to work at Hampton Wick by the way. Small world.
  3. I know where I'm sending my next set of armour then! Thanks for the replys everyone. Super glue.....Quicker, easier, more suductive.
  4. Thanks Mark. That's just what I needed to know.
  5. I'm getting bored waiting for the E6000 to dry for 24hrs. Can I use super glue gel to stick the outer cover strips on my arms? Many thanks for any help.
  6. A little while back someone posted a great little diagram of which parts of the arms have return edges and which parts don't. I can't seem to find it anywhere. Any help would be much appreciated. Rob.
  7. Fantastic dogs. After the past few months I've had he's all thats kept me going.
  8. Vern, thank's for all the great tips. I've copied them down so I don't forget them. Chris, Thanks for the kind comments. Yes he is a Jack Russell but he has a bit of Corgi in him so has ears that are far too big for him. He is my world. John, thank's mate for the kind words on the legs and the buns.
  9. Thanks Brian. I was going to use webbing. I did'nt even know you were supposed to use elastic for holding up the thighs.
  10. Thanks for the advice. Not looking forward to the strapping process at all. Got a lot more building to do first though.
  11. Thanks Ricky. Glad to have your opinion mate.
  12. Finished my AP legs and would love any opinions on fit and finish. I found building these beyond difficult. This is only a quick test fit so I am only holding them up at the tops and wearing grey leggings. Apologies for my buttocks. -----
  13. Oh crap! I've done mine rounded
  14. I'll get some on tonight. Thank's Matt.
  15. Thanks Vern. I thought it just looked a bit weired with the return edge at the sides of the shin and not at the front.
  16. Hi everyone. I am working on my shins and have made a boo boo. I have identified the left and right but was wondering how important it is to have them the correct way round. On the right shin I have not left enough plastic at the top to do a return edge with an iron (at the front above the finishing strip). I thought that if I switched the shins around I could then have the knee plate cover this part and still do a return on the shin that will be on show. I just wondered if any of the film stormtroopers had their legs switched that way I could still be S/A. Many thanks for any help.
  17. Fantastic stuff! All the work you've done looks like it's really paid off. Well done.
  18. That looks real nice Jess. The only thing I would say is maybe make the uprights a bit thicker so you can put a strip of felt on them to protect the finish on the blaster. On the painted resin ones I mean. I just put together one of the Doopydoos stands but had to remake the part that goes under the folding stock as it did'nt really sit in there snugly enough and this is the only part that stops my blaster from twisting upside down as it's a pipe build with a real scope and Hengstler so it's really top heavy.
  19. I gave Tcut a try which, I think is the same sort of thing as the Maguiars and had some pretty good results. Don't use too much glue on those cover strips like I did. NIGHTMARE! Good luck buddy.
  20. That looks fantastic! Such a lovely milky white.
  21. Thank you so much guys. You don't know how relieved I am. I know that they are by no means perfect but it's great to know I don't have to scrap them. I used E6000 so I know I could remove the strips but its how I trimmed the armour that's the problem not the strip it's self. I did'nt leave the 10mm on the raised part so it's made the strip sit wonky if that makes sence. Many thanks again.
  22. O.K here they are. Please don't laugh. I know I messed up bad. The worst part being the first picture. Do you still think it will bw good enough??????? -----
  23. Hi Terry. I have those instructions saved and have been following them and I have all the tools. I guess I'm just not very good. The gaps are not massive but I just thought that sillicone would make them look neater than they are. Many thanks. Rob.
  24. That's a good way to look at it. I'm gonna start trying to have more fun with it.
  25. Thanks Michael. It's good to know that I'm not the only one to feel the frustration. When you see other peoples armour here you think to yourself how perfect it looks and when you come to do your own you start to realize that it won't look half as good. Hopefully when it's done it will be a 'more than the sum of it's parts' type thing.
