  1. I have AM armor and my belt is starting to crack. Anyone get this from the seller here? http://www.ebay.com/itm/281040387397?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649
  2. Great work MWG! So awesome what you did; unfortunately I just heard about this through FB as I haven't been on here much the past year. If you still need donations, please let me know. Its so great what you did; thank you again! I'm glad and proud to be part of the 501st. And to see Katie dressed as a TK, awesome!
  3. TKBoots is the one boots supplier to go with. Thermal detonator comes with the kit. Or at least it should. For treckfreek, I guess you didn't go to the ebay armor section on sellers to avoid. Of course some sellers will tell you its 501st approved, if you can make the modifications. Here, take a look: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=18454
  4. One of my squadmates was looking at this armor and wanted to know what I had thought of it: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Star-wars-Stormtrooper-armour-fx-kit-halloween-prop-new-/170764867311?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27c26116ef Right away I could tell the helmet looked awful. And I see the seller is listed in Thailand.
  5. I wrote them earlier and stated that these boots are not 501st approved. This is their response: You are correct, we just revised all listings, thanks Be sure to check out my website at: -------- Get back to me with any questions. Thanks again! Eric
  6. I was wondering if them stating they're 501st acceptable when they're clearly not, could they get into any type of trouble? Just that it would make it seem like we accept this garbage when we clearly do not.
  7. The seller (triktoys2000) states these are 501st popular and approved. Yeah, right! Don't be fooled newbies. -----------
  8. Hey Jim, I'm also 6'4" but 210 lbs. I have the AM kit which I like. A lot had to be trimmed off but perhaps if you have someone in your area that has an armor party can help you out. Also perhaps someone here with a similar build can assist you. 2 things though; you'll always hear "aren't you too tall to be stormtrooper?" (people think they're original and that I've never heard that before) and you can rarely stand next to Vader. Of course depends on how tall your Vader is. Good luck!
  9. I believe he is too but that is where I got my AM armor back in October. And his email was replaced by troopergear.
  10. I noticed troopersupplies@hotmail.com no longer shows as a vendor for AM; why is that?
  11. Here's an article about Bob doing the walk: http://www.ocala.com/article/20110428/ARTICLES/110429687
  12. So far, we have $580 collected. So about a quarter of the way there.
  13. Thanks for helping out guys, every little bit helps.
  14. I'm forwarding this from our squad leader. Please help however you can. Thank you! Hello all, I come to you with a plea for help. Bob "Dad" Perinchief SL-7082 (my actual dad) is an elementary school teacher, and the president of his schools PTO. Recently the PTO treasurer (a students parent) embezzeled over $2,000 from the PTO bank account, essentially cleaning the fund out. As a passionate, lifelong teacher and advocate Dad has pledged to walk from his school to the County School Board office, and back to his school. The route will take him 10.2 miles round trip, and he is seeking people to sponsor him, at any donation, per mile. He will be doing the walk on the 30th of April. He normally walks 1.5 miles every day in the morning, and has been increasing his walks to 3-5 miles per day. He estimates that the fundraising walk should take him from 8am-12pm. He will not be walking in costume, but we will be equipping him with a camelback, granola bars, and have some friends who will do the walk with him. Oh, by the way, Dad just celebrated his 80th birthday 2 months ago... Yes, at 80 years old he is still teaching 600 students per week. Yes, at 80 years old he is planning to do a 10.2 mile walk to earn back the money someone else stole. And YES, he needs your help. ANY donation will help. Donations can be made via Paypal (personal gift option) to: Perryinnovations@aol.com and put PTO Walk in the comment
  15. When I saw the title, I thought Mike was offering to tow cars, change tires or jump batteries. In all seriousness, I've gotten quite a few things from Mike and he's top-notch all-around.
  16. For me, year I was born (72) then the day (8) and then the month (7). I had wanted 7872 but it was already taken so I figured this made the most sense of what was remaining.
  17. This is from the 501st forums: Troops, We are asking for help and Prayers for one of our own. The Philippine Outpost's Master Cloner, TC-4115 Dexter Enriquez, was badly injured in a fire early this morning, December 12, 2010. He was in his youngest sister's house in Pasig City, Metro Manila, Philippines. Just last week, Dexter's father passed away from complications of emphysema. They buried him on Saturday, December 11, 2010. That night, he returned to Manila and stayed at his sister's house to sort some things. Possibly due to stress and fatigue of laying his father to rest, they did not notice a fire had started in his sister's room due to faulty electrical wiring. The fire started at about 4am. It took over an hour before the firetrucks could get there. By the time Dexter woke up, most of the house was ablaze. He couldn't get to the room where his sister and his 5-year-old niece were sleeping. He jumped out of a second floor window, and the roof of the house collapsed. Neighbors took him to the nearest hospital. Nothing was left of the house and the fire spread to adjacent apartments. He lost almost everything he had at that house, clothes, collectibles, photos of his family and other tangible items. Worst of all, his youngest sister and her 5-year old daughter perished in the fire. Dexter is now at the St. Luke's Hospital in Quezon City. He is under observation for smoke inhalation and treatment of the burns along both arms and hands. He is lucid but still in a lot of pain. He has 2nd degree burns on both arms and hands, some burns and blistered skin on his face and neck. There may have been some smoke inhalation as well. He will be in the hospital for at least two weeks. Some friends have helped out with the initial hospital expense but recovering after the loss will be difficult. Dexter is one of our most enthusiastic and steadfast troopers, ready to don his helmet anytime and anywhere. we are asking for help among our Brothers- and Sisters-in-Armor: Dexter needs clothing & shoes to replace what he lost. He needs money to make up for lost time away from work and hospital bills. Also he needs your support and prayers to get his life back to normal. If anyone would like to send aid in any form, please let us know. You can contact me by email at onealtr@yahoo.com You can also email the Philippine Outpost GCR Regina Layug-Rosero at rejjventress@gmail.com You can send Paypal donations through me at onealtr@yahoo.com. For those who send help, we will include you in a public Google Document to account for everything sent to help our fellow trooper. Thank you very much.
  18. Kohl's by me didn't have any. I got them at Walmart's; thanks again for the suggestions.
  19. After a few parades last week, I've noticed the inner of my AM thigh armor is scuffed from rubbing against each other. Is this normal? I'm about to get some Novus to take the scuffs out; I'm wondering if the thighs should be brought in more as they are a bit big. We didn't take too much off (they are held up with a back brace/garter system) as we did not want to lose the contoured shape. Thanks again for any help!
  20. Where can I get Novus? I figured Home Depot would have it but they had no clue what I was talking about. Auto part stores?
  21. Requesting access, was approved yesterday. Thanks! Jim http://www.501stlegion.org/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=12740
