Rik's AM build thread[*AM]

I cant tell you anything about the height my friend and I am far from an expert, but I did personally use a heat gun on 2 different suits when working with the biceps. I had the same problem with my both my AM kits, they just didn't fit around my arm they way they came from the molds. I did sand down the return edge to help give a better fit before turning to the heat gun as a last resort. The TK bicep is done with the natural overlap of the armor, and has been sanded and been gone over with a heat gun VERY carefully as not to make a bigger mess than I was trying to fix. The TX on the other hand was done with the original joint and cover strip method. And has not yet been sanded or heated. Here are some completed shots of the same piece. Hope that helps.... -

I have just enough parts finished that I should be able to do a proper test fitting soon enough. Till then here are some teasers. After looking at my picture, I see my mistake with the ammo pack. Now working on fixing the problem. Man that must have been a late night when I did that one.... Ok all better, like ive said before, mistakes will happen... -

I will snap a few extra shots of the efx lid next to some pieces of the armor tonight when I update my build log. But I will say looking at both helmet and plates side by side in person and under different light sources, that they are a pretty close match. -

I scored myself one of the limited editions efx Shadow trooper helmets that they released back over the summer. I plan on making some more minor mods to the inside of the lid including replacing the lenses. Ive already added some of TK-4510's decals to the traps on the outside and replacement mesh screen. After following the topic on the Spec Ops Detachment boards tracking the release of the lid. Its been my understanding that the efx Shadow lid is 501st wearable out of the box, as other 501st member's have already used it to apply as well. -
Yah I found out that you have to contact the GML directly to help get the ball rolling Thanks for the help guys!
-
While I wait for the supplies I need to take in the arms and legs on my TK (I was too generous with extra room, as my GML pointed out) Ive started on my next project, but now with a little bit of experience under my belt.

As of this morning, the SCG site and forms are down. Which is news to me. Ive never been able to get registered on those boards anyways, but not for lack of trying. I infact did not send a direct email to my local GML. I guess its worth a shot, thought it looked as if a copy of my application was forwarded to him as well. We shall see what happens. Once again, thanks for the help
