Jim comming along nicely sir , you are one skinney dude it make me sick evrytime i see a slim trooper ,i must lay of the beer , theres a couple of things i would imho , cut the return edge out at the bottom of the forearms trust me mate it will really make yor wrists and hands more movable , and also i would put 3 pices of white elastic with little hooks sown on to the elastic in each calfs at the back and drill holes for the hooks to go in to , so this would close your calfs , its all screen accurate you know i think Firebladejedi has a turtoiral on here some where on the calf closer , i did both these mods and i luv it plus done quite a bit of trooping and holding out well . I think what i do is find out the value of the suit and helmet , i know its priceless to many of us , but get an estimated value , and then find out how many people would be really commited to owning cast armour from it , and its also got to be priced right to so everybody has a chance of owning the replica of an origanal , so if the profit out of making a cast from it well out waighs the current cost of it in its current state then its a big money winner , but me personaly if i owned it i would leave it as it is , but i dont so yes i would be on that list of owning a set .

Just need to get in contact with some Rebel scum to sort this costume out ,ohh the strive for accuracy on any costume is great but need to get this one bang on , seeing that it will be Karens first

Hey Markey thanks for the comments mate , Unfortanley i cant make MEM work reasons one of my teams have let me down for the weekend so now the boss has got to get his hands dirty , well gutted , i told Pete last night because i was going to give him a lift there , but no worries i will defentley be doing winter MEM , but iam sure i will meet you before that and show you the completed V3 , i feel a summer BBQ at mine is in order so i can invite my screen accuratte snobs for a gathering after a troop

Why thank you Armando that means a lot comming from you , with the amazzing lids you have done , i think iam going to use the med Blue to me it seems to have a aged look to it imho , but if i dont like it i will go for the french blue ohh decisions decisions i will let you know what i have gone with also i am going to make some slight weathering inside the lid hints of black and grey marks on the white not to much though .

Karen , my wife is thinking of doing Hoth leia this would be her first costume and iam sure the white jumpsuite Leia had on in Hoth was also the one she wore at bespin without the quilted body warmer , when she has the blast out with the stormtroopers , and that would fit in realy well with my ESB TK set up , need to see where i can get an accuratte Leia Hoth costume ? . Cheers Rich and Paul , Your quite right Paul i am not going mad with to many chippings want to keep it as they were seen on set in 1976 , iam not trying to replicate any perticular helmet as seen in ANH just my own interpration of what i have seen and studed with a few nice paint runs here and there , i must say really enjoying my first ever helmet build , the HDPE is great to work with very flexy the only thing was finding a paint to stick to it which a very good friend pointed me in the right direction the paint is Krylon fusion Gloss white and no primer required , and to get the primer effect i used krylon fusion satin burgandy they dont sell flat red , but imho the burgandy comes out more of a primer colour and it sofens up a bit with the white overspray now just need to let it fully dry out before hand painting details . @ Paul what Humbrol blue do you use on your helmets for the tube stripes French or midnight ? and also what grey for the traps and frown ? iam going with humbrol satin black for the vecoder and the black out lines on ears and traps .

Ok back on topic, done some more work on the V3 , i wanted to create the red primer showing inside the lid as per the origanals here are some photos of the progress i think iam there , note i have sprayed the inside of the lid first then with the white overspray when i do the outside will tone it down a little . Ok some teaser shots from the outside rear will have to wait for other pics

Nice one Lars you relly look the part , did you do all the build ? it fits you so well now this is imho gotta get your self TM lid to go with that armour , or you could always try and take Mathius lid without him knowing .

Ok managed to get a bit more done on the V3 yesterday , got to rivit the lid together plus trimed the ears not to neat want to keep it slap happy , now getting ready for paint time luv working with the HDPE so flexable and just luv the color , heres a few pics of progress .

I still think the detail on the tears is from Liz Moores finger nails

Your Right midnight trooper there are bumps on the tear traps but i know now looking closer it dose not have the rectangle line detail ummm wounderwhy that was not put in ?
