  1. Yup! One of holes I made was too large, so the rivet tore free through the fabric so I had to re-do the hole for the rivet+snap combo. I have since replaced the whole belt unit. But that was for completely different reasons.

  5. Try boiling them for a while.
  6. Just wait until you have the magnets. So much easier.
  7. Maybe with the US market. But the UK makers are safe. We got that established with the SDS vs LFL case a few years ago. At least when it comes to OT costumes.
  8. Well, there's always AM if you want sanitized.
  9. As long as you paid $350 for it. For the full price they are asking now that the pre-order is over, I think it's too much for a sanitized version.
  10. It sounds like you thought of me as an anovos fan-boy. That's very far from the truth.
  11. Commenting on the latest published picture from them is sticking to current data. Of course everything can change. And I certainly hope it will, too. Because what I've seen so far is not good enough to warrant the full price they will be asking for.
  12. I personally wouldn't call criticism advertisement. And if my comments helps newbies learn some of the details to look for when comparing any armour to originals, then that's worth it too.
  13. If you don't comment on the protoypes, there's no feedback before production runs, no?
  14. That's cool. And it looks sharp. The thing is, it's too sharp.
  15. I think it looks really strange and sanitized. Some angles are too sharp or at the wrong angle, and some details are missing. Like the missing dimple in the circle inside the ab box and the cut in the 4-button plate not being deep enough.
  16. Sounds a lot like overkill. You don't need 100 lbs rated heavy duty gear to hold up plastic thighs that weigh a couple of ounces.
  17. Just drill new holes. The old ones will be covered by the ears when they are on anyway.
  18. The 501st doesn't approve FX helmets any longer, so you don't even need to bother with that helmet if membership is what you seek.
  19. Read what I posted above.
  20. Last or second to last is what's seen on original helmets. If second to last, only on one ear, never both.
  21. It fixes itself when you bolt the pieces together and add the ears. -----------
  22. The button plate on most kits is a separate piece, so you just glue it on upside down.
  23. The originals had a large loop of elastic glued to the inside front which you pulled a belt through and wear outside of your undersuit under the torso armour.
