  1. Yeah, I did the same. So each time I trimmed more out, I had to cut out at least the width of the inner strip. Luckily I always needed to remove at least that amount.

The outer strips with E6000 come off very easily. I just stuck a flat screwdriver underneath and worked it alng the seam. The excess glues rubs off and leaves no residue.

That was fortunate! Good thing you get so much extra abs with the TM making new inner strips won't be an issue.

Do you have a picture of the inside of your thigh? It'll help me visualize how much you had removed.

I think we are about the same hight and build so this is about as close to how mine should look like as I can find!

  2. I don't have any pictures of that I'm afraid.

In the end I took out 20mm (exactly the width of the finishing strip) from each leg (I cut it all out from behind the back seam). But as you can see, it's all been trial and error with me.

I think the easiest way to do it is to tape the parts with an overlap and try them on. Then keep increasing or decreasing the overlap till you're happy and trim off the excess.

I've just finished re-doing the forearms which now means I have built and re-built every single part of my armour!

I was just very conservative when I trimmed and glued all the parts first time round. Still, I suppose it's better to build it too big and then trim down rather than cut too much and leave it too tight.

It's one of the things about the TM kit which sounds pretty daunting at first when you hear it has no seams or trim lines. In the end though, it makes it the perfect kit to trim to size.

Yeah I did my thighs like that, but stopped where the back of the thighs curve. Had I gone further and trimmed more I'd gotten a "wall" and not the curve, as one part curves upward and the other downward to meet. If that makes any sense.

Since I used abs-cement and quite a lot of it on the inner joining strips I imagine it to be a bit of a challenge removing those. But the outer strips are E-6000 so that will be easy.

  3. This photo of me from the weekend caught my eye and prompted me to re-tackle my thighs.

I'd had a niggling doubt in my mind since I'd put them together that maybe I'd left them a bit too "roomy". This picture made my mind up.

So I took off the finishing strips from the back of the thighs and opened up the seam again. I cut out around 20mm (the width of the finishing strip) on each and put them back together again. It seems to have got rid of the extra gap and my thighs sit nice and snug now.

I also think I'm addicted to buildign armour too. It was so much fun to crack open the plastic weld and E6000 and have something to do again!

More photos as soon as I get my holster and suit up for clearance/EIB photos.

I think I need to do this too, but I can't really make out how much you took off by the later photos. Like this one:

Do you have any build pics of that surgery?

  4. Was not sure on quality and price with them. Also looked at Shepperton design studios and after British pounds to US dollar conversion am not sure if the price is good or not. There is an armor/helmet combo that is about 1200 dollars+shipping, that does not include body suit, gloves, boots, etc.

They can't sell to the US because of a lawsuit, so don't bother unless you want to order it to a friend and then have them send it to you.

  5. Woho! Give us those pics Mathias! :D

Of course I had the bad luck of getting my memory card on the camera somehow erased today, but I have at least one good picture to show. I've been issued the standard issue Stormtrooperâ„¢ T-Shirt!

All my parts except for the TD and are pretty much done. The belt, holster and TD are awaiting additional pieces. Some are already ordered. Like the TD belt clips and hand guards.

I'm about 75% done with the strapping system.

Initial test fitting with all "finished" gear. I'm holding my thighs up because i have no support belt for those yet.

  6. OK, so the smallest I have seen is 5'4"

    What about a 5'2" 100lb female?...

    Advice?

I think AP will do fine, just as the others have said earlier in the thread.

I'm building a TM and I'm 5'7 and 120 lbs, and some parts might actually be a wee bit too big for me. Nothing major though, and not anything some padding on the inside can't solve. I'm pretty sure any of the TE-linage armours would fit you nicely. TM too for that matter.

  7. Recapping some undocumented progress!

Earlier I glued on the front inner joining strip on my left shin. Yesterday I've added the front joining strip, and glued on both inner left forearm joining strips. These now sit firm and flush to my armour.

Today I've glued on the joining strip on the back of the left shin (careful not to actually join the two halves ofc) and also glued on the outer joining strips on the left forearm. Now I'm out of clamps and magnets so that's all I can do until tomorrow when the E-6000 has dried.

I'm a slim guy so I can keep to 20 mm strips on the shin and 15 mm on the forearm. On the inside of both I use 20 mm for stability and because I have more of those strips!

I've got some photos, but until I transfer them to the computer (they're not that good anyway) I'll stick with the text only updates.

Also, I test fitted my left shin with one of my TK-boots and it looks great. I got some photo of that too on my mobile.
