I wanted to have a different thread for the build so here is the first fruits of my labor on the ATA kit. I finished this the other night. I put it up here for you guys to critique it so go right ahead. There is a gap between the cap and face plate. The cap does not fit flush against the faceplate and there is quite a bit of space so I might need to glue the brow strip on there to keep it secure. You dont really notice it unless you were shorter and happened to look straight up at me. So I guess its not a big deal Okay guys tell me what you think. Jonathan

Thanks for the tips for painting Rougetrooper. Yeah its the first time I've done a lid haha, wouldn't have been possible without all the help you guys provide. I think I will do AHN for now. Hopefully I'll have pics of some completed armor peices soon.

Whats up guys? I know its been a while since I have posted any updates and it is because I have been busy with school and life in general. I got the helmet assembled the other night and I wanted to post the pictures of it for you guys to critique before I paint it and such. Enjoy

Saw it eariler before I started making my round on the FISD. Very funny! Good post. Not trying to hijack this thread RougeTrooper but I saw a pretty good Boba Fett fan film called Search for Varrada. Don't know if anyone has already seen it but its definately one of the best fan films I've seen out there. Not so great acting but still bearable and a little gimmicky in places with. Good special effects though, none of that terrible CGI and pretty good action and battle scenes. Plus Boba Fett looks outstanding. There is also plenty of snowtroopers and biker scouts. No TKs though but still worth a look. Check TROOPS and this one: part 1.

Well I'm a pretty young guy, only 20. So obviously I wasnt around for any of the original trilogy. However when I was probably 8 or 9 my mom who had been around for the movies took me to the movie rental place one night and we got all 3. I put it in as soon as I got home and I was glued to the TV! I had never seen anything like it. I thought it was amazing and even to this day when that open shot of ANH comes on and the Star Destroyer flies over I still get chills. As far as how I would rank them it would be: The Empire Strikes Back: Bobba Fett, great fight scenes, emotionally charged conclusion, more Vader!, more Harrison Ford ( one of the best actors of our time, I think) snowtroopers and Yoda. Its my favorite A New Hope: I just like ESB better. This movie is awesome, as everyone here knows. Love the sandtroopers, jawas, the cantina, Obi Wan vs Vader (a saber fight doesnt have to be full of acrobatics george, I think this is one of the best duels in the saga just based on the emotion and the backstory that is involved), The Death Star battle is sumply Epic! Return of the Jedi: Sorry ROTJ fans this is just where it falls in my saga. I love it just as much as the ones above. The Ewoks were a bit annoying. Bobba Fett gets killed in the first half hour, come on george this is one of the best characters of the saga! The Scout Troopers were awesome, the battle of endor was very well done, I liked the 3 different simultaneous battles. Love the ending when Vader disposes of the Emperor. Ties up the saga very nicely. Revenge of the Sith: Again with the whining Anakin? Everytime I watch it I put my head in my hands during some of the dialogue (Padme: I love you! Anakin: No I love you! Anakin: You look amazing! Padme: Its only because I am in love! Anakin: No, No, No I am so in love with you! Padme: So love has blinded you?-----Dear god) I really think someone should have said something or hijacked the writing process to avoid this. I think Hayden could have done much better, but for the most part actors read whats given to them <_<, Anyway, lots of action, Love the scene where the clones march into the jedi temple, love all the different clones, like the battle on Kashyyyk. The battle between anakin and obi wan was pretty well done but couldve been a little shorter. I am a General Grievous fan. I also love the opening battle above Corusant. Phantom Menace: I know a lot of people despise this film and I reconize many of the flaws, Didn't like Jar Jar, or the Gungans, The podrace was cool but pointless, Watto (sp) was obnoxious etc etc. I did like Darth Maul, he and Darth Sideous shouldve been more prominent in the movie instead of concentrating on the Viceroy. I wish they would've done a better job like we all know they could've Attack of the Clone: This is my least favorite by far. The clones are cool, Jango is cool, The battle with 500 jedi and billions of clones and battle droids was cool but why didnt they spend more time on it and make it an epic end of movie battle like the one on endor or the battle on hoth, there was like 5 minutes of CGI battle. They should have added 10 more minutes and cut out the part with Anakin whining about Padme falling out of the troop transport onto a very soft sandy dune. The also couldve cut out anakin propsing to padme before they enter the arena and the whole anakin and padme at the lake section... Oh well. Lots of bad but there is some redeeming good in there. I also feel like this is overlooked, Jar Jar Binks, standing in for Senator Amidala, puts forth the motion that gives Palpatine supreme powers. This means that Jar Jar, the most hated character in the Star Wars canon, is indirectly responsible for the fall of the Old Republic and the near-annihilation of the Jedi order. Well thats my list, sorry its a bit long haha Jonathan

My first armor kit came on Wednesday! I never thought I would get to this point. Its such a great feeling opening up that big brown box of goodness! I decided to go ATA and will be doing an ANH stunt. Hopefully I will post up some pics this weekend. I am just trying to figure out where to start (it is a little bit overwhelming haha). I've been in contact with a few guys from the Carolina Garrison and hopefully will be getting together with one of them on tuesday to look at his TE in person and so I can get a feel for how it all should look. He also offered to lend me a hand with getting started on assembly which is awesome as this is my first armor. So I am very excited to get it all put together and will hopefully be able to put of pics of my WIP ASAP! Thanks for all the information and help you guys provided here that got me to this point and of course will help in the building process. I was wondering though if someone could post the link to the TE build that a lot of people reference. I can't think of the name right off the top of my head <_<. Thanks again guys! Terry you have an amazing talent my friend. Both of them look great! Shiv, I am all for Batman I was gonna do a Batman but opted for a Joker instead cause happened upon a purple trench coat. So I figure why not get all the other pieces haha. I can't stand some of the costumes put out commercially these days. I have always made my own cause frankly they look better. Everyone around here is so talented!

Thats awesome that you did a Jaster Will! I think The Fetts and Mandalorians are such great looking costumes. I am a big fan of the Mandalorians. I wish they had them in the movies or more of Bobba and Jango at least. I've read that the boy who played Bobba Fett in AOTC will be doing the role in television series so I am excited about that.

I agree with Joe. I am new to the costuming scene (November 09). I had no idea that people actually screw people over in this hobby. I thought everybody looked out for one another but I guess there is always an exception to the rule. I could have easily been one that happened to contact Matt for armor and got screwed over myself. Luckly I did see one of these threads to avoid him and did just that. I think the more threads you have the more the information is spread out and that way more people will be made aware. I think someone needs to also make a notice on facebook warning people somehow. Just a little 2 cents Jonathan

I think in the future I would definately do a clone. Maybe a shock trooper, those were my favorite from the movie. A LYCAN! I like your style Darren. I am an underworld fan myself. That would be something I would definately want to see finished. I have also thought about building a Predator costume. I am just excited to start this TK! then ill be out there with all you guys ~Jonathan

You make a good point about having only one costume Daetrin. I hope to take the time to really put some time into my TK so I can "pimp" it out like it should be. Right now I am planning on using the EIB requirements as a guide while I build it so maybe, after a few adjustments and modifications I can get that right off the bat.....we'll have to see how it goes

Thats impressive Terry! Back in the day when I was 15, I made a homemade Vader costume from scratch using a pretty good guide off a website for the ROTS premiere. I substituted stiff cardboard for all the armor parts( bet boxes, buttons, chest box, shins etc) Got a decent helmet with a breather. Bought the gloves and made a cape with a chain. It was a cheap costume but it turned out looking pretty impressive for cardboard. People were trying to take pictures and whole deal. I did a few lines from ESB and won some concert tickets lol. Good times! I hope maybe to come full circle with the Vader too. I would love to see the Terminator and the Alien. Darth Maul is always a winner in my book too.....not so much the Jar Jar. Very cool stuff tho man

Nice man. Yeah I think if I make this TK look as pretty as it is supposed to look then I wanna try my hand at more. Im leaning toward the Biker Scout over the TIE or Fett. TB is a great costume
