  1. Dude, I've got nothing for you, but maybe it has to do with the fact your trooper is shot here try this it's much more appropriate .
  2. That is a great looking pack...I will eventually make one that look more screen accurate when I move back to the states. Living in Italy my ability to find things is limited. Not that they don't have the stuff somewhere, I just don't know where that somewhere is and with the exchange rate what should only cost a few dollar gets rather expensive quick. Funny enough the stuff I used came mainly from deep discounted stuff at my base exchange. Total cost so far about $10. T, We shall double our efforts to keep it clean
  3. Just wanted to share my work in progress backpack...don't worry I'm not going to go roll around in the mud and go all TD. I just wanted to see if I could make one and maybe wear it here and there.
  4. I actually did not trim but simply formed the bottom to more of a taper, kind of like rolling a newspaper. So the back seam is not exactly vertical but more on a slight angle. I glued the front but used super velcro on the back side. This really did the trick for avoiding the ugly storm trooper knickers syndrome.
  5. Terrific job! Congrats on being official
  6. Thanks bro. I'm taking it out on it's first troop on Saturday. One thing that it has really brought to light is how I could better align the kidney plate to the abs so the tail sits in a better spot. It also shows me that my FX suit was defintiely cast with a bigger trooper in mind.
  7. Thanks to Chazz for the belt. Here's a pic. I only have a few small things to do. I had to use rivets to attach the belt to the canvas in order to deal with the hole I had drilled from it previously being a plastic belt. I plan on painting the rivets.
  8. While that would suck...it sure does look like some type of viral marketing. Anyone know of any game that's coming out? To me the contrived attempt at spirituality in the last paragraph just seems too Hollywood. If this was for real and the person writting it was really concerned the last thing I would expect them to use is some esoteric term for God like "Great Spirit". There are no atheists in fox holes and most people play it safe by calling God "God". Anyways, when's the armor party and do I need to bring chips!
  9. I was once a real life section commander and in the US Air Force that job is often held by Lt's and Capt. Capt's generally work much larger squadrons. The Section Commander is in essence the Squadron Commander's #2 administratively but not operationally. Generally you see a director of operations or DO who is either same or one rank lower than the commander as the operational #2. Back on topic, I was actually warned by some of my Garrison mates that they have actually been to events where folks got bent out of shape for a junior 501st (less time trooping) wearing an orange or white pauldron. In my garrison the black was considered the grunt E1-E3. But hey it's just a hobbie...right?
  10. That's truly the essence of the sacrifice we make..."So that others may smile..."
  11. I'll send you a friends request and we can show them how Troopers roll...
  12. Not a Playstation guy...I prefer the "whiteness" of the Xbox 360. My sig has my gamertag!
  13. Simply incredible...you honestly have to wonder how many original props are hiding somewhere in a basement/attic/garage...
  14. Where in the world do you hide big pieces of plastic???? Wouldn't that be like waking up one morning and finding out there are now 2 cats in the house? (by the way we do not own cats, but I know a guy who that happened to apperantly it looked alot like one of the other cats)
  15. Being an O or zero as so affectionally put...a good Senior NCO always has his O's back unless the person is a complete dumba** The enlisted force truly is the backbone that makes the AF run. The only reason I look good is the good people who work for me. Thus ,y job is to give them top cover and always ensure they are taken care of. Managers are bosses, leaders are servants and stewards!
  16. One thing though guys that's a bunch of guardsmen (note the statue) and us active duty hae been passing that one around laughing about the whole Total Force concept...hell the regs now say I can't even drink a coke and walk at the same time while in uniform.
  17. so true...I wish I would of known about FISD when I was making my decision
  18. Thank the good Lord it's Friday!!! I've had a crap week and my wife won't let me get more armor.... Actually that's not funny. I reckon they still did not really understand the pop culture impact SW was having...Besides there was what 5 troopers playing different roles????
  19. Appearantly this thread is not so interesting but thanks for the reply K. I used a vynil white 3 ring binder...I bet others have used that before so I guess I'm not so clever
  20. I just finished closing the gap on the side on my armor. I thought for fun I would ask to see what you all thought and ask you to guess what I used to make this mod. I think you all will be surprised...I was personally inspired to think outside the box by those who used Walmart trashcans I'll post the How To if anyone is interested after I reveal my solution
  21. My whole venture started out as something me and my buddy were talking about doing...I think she thought that's all we would do...talk. My buddy's wife is my wife's friend so when she said she didn't care I think she must of felt like "no way she's going to out wife me" and gave me the green light...the whole initial point was to pariticipate in our base's Trunk or Treat thing. Unfortunately, I spent so much time with my friend making "first time repairs" that she never really saw the reactions. Anyways, she's cool for the most part she just didn't want me getting a second costume...the old things are never good enough for you argument
  22. Those are some great repies guys...I have to say she IS very supportive of me to the point of getting figures and stuff, it must be a timing thing for her since I've only had my FX TK four months and I already want a different one. To her I should have done better research before dropping the first load of cash, but I think that's the nature of trooping or anything else in life, that first car we all had was pretty cool till we saw our first Ferrari (I see them more often since I'm stationed in Italy).
  23. Ok like many of you I'm married, while I'm new to life with the 501st I'm curious what tactics have you all developed over the years to get your significant other "Imperial Requisitions Officer" to understand why you need more than one armor, or why you won't stop touching it...armor that is.
  24. Let's not forget that they may actually use a different designations on the TV show which would solve the dilema all together. George gave us the TK designation so it stands to reason they may have a different designation on the show or in the game...unless the toy card already says "TK" it's still to early to call. Though it would be funny to force any legion officers with TK's to paint there armor accordingly since they are "commanders"
