td 3843 requesting EIB[101][FX]
Debater2nd replied to td 3843's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
No problem, and thanks! We'll get this moved over to the EIB section shortly. We'll need additional detailed pictures pictures of the ab section (buttons), helmet, and blaster as well. Good to see a fellow ESB trooper! -

Hi Fredrik. Is this meant to be an EIB application? If so, we'll be happy to help you with that, but I'm a little unclear as to what you're trying to achieve. Nice looking build, by the way! Also, if you're new to the FISD, please post an introduction in the new members section so that we can get to know you. Thanks! -
Thanks! It's brand new to me...just arrived today from Finland, so I'm pretty stoked. I still have some fitting to do, but I'm really happy with how it looks.

Where to get Armor - Resource/Tutorial List
Debater2nd replied to Daetrin's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
We'll be taking a look at this as part of the program to make this site easier for new members to use, in addition to making some other organizational content-related changes in that regard. Thanks for bringing this up! -
Figured I'd add on to this a little more fun I had today. In the spirit of the weather, and being pumped that my new outfit got here, I put on the close cousin of the TK, and did some posing!

The one thing I'll add to this is that for anyone who does get a Mac, just keep up the Applecare warrenty...it covers just about everything, and Apple is very good about supporting it in their stores and remotely.

Hmm...so you want to have MP3's instead of the iTunes encoded songs? There are some good free, or at least readily available, converters...try Handbreak. Are you going from itunes PC to the mac? Also, be aware that iTunes will accept and keep mp3s...you just have to set the preferences. All of my music is in mp3 format, and I've been using iTunes for quite a while.

I'm not thrilled about the paint scheme (I don't like the bronze undercoat for the body), but other than that it looks ok to me. I paid about that for a resin cast I have. I would ask whether he shipps weathered or not. Not sure about the seller, but people on eBay with that kind of feedback are usually ok. Not sure about the casting of the parts...it looks pretty similiar to the doopy-doos add-on kit. All in all, resin is ok, but they tend to be both heavy and fragile...not the greatest choice for trooping. I know there are people on here who can either do a better, more accurate and functional one, or who can at least point you to a within the FISD choice. Good luck!

Sun? Kids? Wife? What will I do without being able to check the FISD every ten minutes??!

Awesome! I love the one with the AT-ATs! Hello new desktop!

Yeah, that's kind of what I was thinking about the belt. I think I'm going to go with a separate belt, just for simplicities sake. I made the last belt and holster, but this time I think I'll just find someone on here who can do them...mine turned out to be way more work than they were worth. I'm actually working with a guy to get a new blaster made too...I think it will have the detachable counter, as well as a few other tricks...gonna be sweet!

This may/probably has already been addressed, and I did find a related EIB submission thread ( http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=9472 ), but I wanted to clarify before I did anything else. I got a good deal on an MRCE helmet, and it occurred to me that since it is AHN, besides correctly modding the MRCE helmet, making a new belt with a new holster on the AHN side, and getting a new set of handplates, I could do an EIB AHN suit. Since I already qualified for EIB with my current ESB suit though, I wanted to find out if this practice is indeed acceptable before doing the work. Basically, can I use one suit correctly modified for EIB under both AHN and ESB? Thanks!

TK4258 Requesting EIB ESB.[96][AP]
Debater2nd replied to grungie_42's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Don't feel too bad about not know IMHO...I had to look it up myself. I guess I'm not "hip." Oh well. The side shim thing is an easy fix when you decide to do it. I just went to Lowes, bought a plastic sign and some industrial velcro, and solved the problem for about 5 bucks. Other than than, looks pretty good to me. Glad to see someone else going the ESB route. -
Proposed Change - Side Gap Language
Debater2nd replied to Daetrin's topic in FISD Expert Infantry Badge (EIB) Requirements
I think this is a good policy. I first tried to close my sides with canvas, and it just didn't look good. I got plastic sign material and closed mine, and to be honest, it's a lot easier to use than the canvas ever was, not to mention it just looks better. -
You guys don't know everything?? Well, I guess I'll have to find some other people to pester with questions!

That is above and beyond...my helmet is off to you, Terrell!

Introducing the Novatrooper
Debater2nd replied to izzi's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
I don't usually go for non-canon stuff, but I gotta say...nice job on that armor! It just looks mean! -
Congrats! Nice work...look forward to seeing the pictures.
-
Very cool. I'm jealous...mine don't look that good!
-
The pictures shown are not of an ESB blaster...it still has the hengstler counter attached. I'm not sure if they can take it off or not, but some of the feedback comments say that the ESB version is "closer to the AHN." Probably not a good sign.

I love watching Star Trek, particularly TNG. One of the best Christmas presents I got this year was the Blu-ray set of the Next Gen movies...can't wait to put it on! I did run across one of those pages where people were debating whether the Enterprise could take on a Star Destroyer. I was surprised that most people seemed to give the Enterprise the win. I mean....it's a Star Destroyer...the peak of awesomeness...the fight would be legend (wait for it) dary!

Heh, I'd like to know that too!

Nice! Gotta love the power of the Mac! Happy computing!
