A Garrison friend is builidng Cap Enoch so figured we needed a footsoldier to keep him company and here we are Started on the Helmet (files are PPC) and shapewise it’s good but the teeth and tubestripes could be better but I guess it’s good enough for basic, we shall see. Mapped out the cracks with a pencil to see what I would like and then the carving started. Pretty happy were it’s at but can always add more cracks..well…you can also reduce them with a bit more work For the gold I will start with acrylics and see how that looks.1 point

Greetings from Wisconsin Garrison! DS-53590 (Kylo Ren) I am new to the Stormtrooper life and working on my First Order TK. I am really looking forward to learning more about armor building as I strive for quality in my craft, and hope to rise in the ranks as I progress in my build.1 point

Hi there, with Imgur try to use the "direct link" so your images will show, or right click, copy, then paste into your post (FYI I've just edited them for you) info on using Imgur here A clean build I don't think you will have any issues for base approval, albeit that is entirely up to your GML (Garrison Membership Liaison) For higher levels I would drop your brow trim down a touch, if you look at both sides in front of the traps you have a slight kink in the trim. Not sure from your image if you painted the bumps on the ears or the in between, I see 3 or 4 bump ears may be used for base clearance (see how they appear evenly spaced), they could be tidied up a touch mainly the bottoms. Basic The “ear” bars have three or four bumps and are painted grey, with a black outline. Painting the bumps with rank stripes (highlighted) in black is optional. For L2 Ear bars shall have four bumps only, not three. For L3 Ear bars shall have only two to three bumps painted in black (rank stripes). You can see a lot of opening behind your shins, many use a heat bath to soften the plastic and allow to bend You mentioned the boots, the ones you have used the shins are siting up a tad, especially your right. Can just see a gap under your shoulder straps, not sure if you can drop the chest and backplate so the gap can be reduced. Your gloves appear to be rubber (shinny) and appear you have stitching as well as elastic loop. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): If rubber gloves are worn the hand plates will be affixed via an elastic strap over the palm. No stitching/holes are permitted. If silk or satin gloves are worn, the hand plates have the correct visible stitching with a 5 point/star pattern, equally spread out with 2 on each side and 1 in the middle front, double stitched with 2 holes at each point and sewn to the glove at each one using black thread. You could drop the belt at the back a little Also The top of the ABS belt shall sit at or just above the bottom of the central and vertical ab button panels. A slight overlap is suggested, but not required. Your left forearm looks a little on the large side, you can see a gap in the rear photo Also centralize the detonator and align belt closure. Note the gap on the left forearm compared to right. Your helmet could come down a touch, sitting up on the back. So just a few tweaks and you should also be ok for higher levels. Good luck and hope to see you approved very soon1 point

Haha building the KB props TFA kit made me fearless about cutting plastic The Anovos kit on the other hand was an absolute dream to build.....when it eventually did arrive Also, pretty sure I know of atleast one more person that would have no problem cutting up that plastic1 point

Normally there has to be more references than just an action figure. Some info on CRL creation: https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:CRLGuide Character Approval The costume should be based on an official Star Wars canon source. Legends media is still acceptable, provided it is licensed. Assuming the quality of the build is in keeping with the level expected of the 501st, and that the character is affiliated with the darker side of the stories at the time that the costume in question is worn, anything from the current canon is eligible by default. The costume must work within the constraints of human anatomy. Costumes that can only be accurately rendered as puppets (IG-88, Battle Droids) are considered props and as such not allowed. Costumes must be a complete ensemble, not a partial version or in a state of undress. Video game characters must be part of the official story line of the game, and cannot be player customized. For example, Starkiller's Sith Stalker costume is acceptable, but a player character from Star Wars Galaxies would not be. The character must be represented visually by an officially authorized Star Wars publication. Ideally, clear full body front/back/side reference should be available, but can be examined on a case by case basis. Costumes based only on text descriptions cannot be approved. An action figure or statue may be used as supplemental reference, but cannot not be the sole reference. McQuarrie concept characters, and other characters whose only reference exists in concept are open for Legion consideration on a “case-by-case basis”. NOTE: Some costumes, while approved for Legion membership, may be deemed inappropriate for certain events. The local command staff / event coordinator reserves the right to make this judgement as needed.1 point

Tape them together and see if you can get your hand trough and if you can, just glue them shut Unless, you want to be able to take them apart….a simple way is to use velcro, 1inch on each piece and a 2inch to hold them closed. Now, depending on how the are constructed it can be a little wobbly if there’s no lip. You can in that case ad a little lip with some abs. Doesn’t need to be the full lenght, just something to stop them shifting.1 point

Got some work done, finished sanding the chest, cod, posterior, knee ammobelt, shoulders (not trimmed to size yet), handplates, backplate and forearms that are trimmed to size. Cut the slots for the shoulderstraps on the chest and back. Glued the trapezoids and the frame on the backplate using the abs-glue, worked a treat. Also added the hole/indent, just a hole at the moment, also glued some extra plastic behind as it seemed deeper than 1.5mm. not sure to leave it as is or glue black or white plastic on the inside. Almost forgot, glued the ad/kidney together and painted the black strip.1 point

Hello Troopers! It is once again June and this means that we're celebrating Pride Month across the Legion, globe and galaxy (far, far away and very much nearby). For us at FISD this means that we're looking for your pictures! As an ally with a rainbow painted onto your armor or as a member of the LGBTQ+ community showing off your flag -- everyone is invited to send us your pictures celebrating Pride and diversity as troopers! If you've got some cool pictures of yourself or your fellow troopers (with their permission, of course) that we can share this month, please send your pictures either directly to me ( @Morgi ) or to our email instagram @ whitearmor . net ... without the spaces, of course! Make sure to add your TK-number(s) and Garrison(s), so we can credit you! If you want us to share your picture anonymously, please let us know and we can do that. Since we'll have to prepare the post, make sure to send your pictures until June 14th. Your two weeks start now We're looking forward to many cool pictures! Happy Pride, everyone!1 point

Sexy. Something interesting (well to me) I was watching a cartoon yesterday and it was using the Kintsugi method of glue and gold paint to fix a chess piece, what I did notice was the glue was raised and once painted gold it gave a curved higher appearance, like below But we can however see that the Kintsugi method of the night troopers is definitely dremeled/gouged/scribed/recessed1 point
