Tzag[TK] Posted June 13, 2025 Report Posted June 13, 2025 Hello there! I an Dimitris and recently got approved. I would like to try to modify my armor for expert infantry and in the future even centurion but i have some problems. I am on the "bigger trooper" side and i have put seams to my thigh pieces because they couldn't fit me but i dont know if it will be approved for second or third level of approval. Can you advise or help me to check if that is approval or needs abs paste and sanding? Thank you very much!! 1 Quote
TKSpartan[Staff] Posted June 13, 2025 Report Posted June 13, 2025 Hi Dimitris, Congratulations for your approval and welcome to the FISD. You have done a great job with your thighs adjustment sir. As you pointed, for higher levels it would be necessary to seal the seam lines with ABS paste and sand it. 1 Quote

Is there any tutorial about how to make it? Also, does it need painting after or just the sanding will do fine? Quote
Sithping[TK] Posted June 13, 2025 Report Posted June 13, 2025 Hi Dimitris, congratulations on your clearance! Here's a link below for abs paste. Great to hear you are going for EIB! Quote

When I had to make some repair, I have applied ABS paste using the same plastic pieces from the armor and just used some polish to give the shining white with no paint Quote

How do you usually polish it? So you use some cleaning-polishing spray or somekind of varnish? Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted June 13, 2025 Report Posted June 13, 2025 I use automotive cutting compound, but this is only after using sandpaper to get the ABS paste level with the armor. It's a very slow process, I use water and dish soap to help the sandpaper to glide and not clog as quickly. You have to use several grades of sandpaper finishing up with a super fine 1500 or 2000, then you can use compound or regular polish. A lot of the FOTK Denuo Novo use ABS paste to fill seams, you can find a lot of build threads and examples of the finish in the FOBG builds areas A great thread on wet sanding A couple of other builds with similar thighs Quote

Thank you all, i will keep you updated!!! Edited June 15, 2025 by Tzag 1 Quote
