I joined this forum shortly after ordering from Anovos and waited over 5 years for my armor. I think my join date is in 2017 sometime. Ha!

I am finally getting time to work on my armor after 2 years of it sitting in the boxes. There's a lot of information out there. Right now I am trying to get all the extra items that did not come with my armor. If anyone has suggestions on where to source the extras that I still need, I would appreciate it. I am looking to get these items in a quality that the 501st accepts: gloves, undersuit, boots, gun, and voice box for helmet.

I am also trying to get a hold of R2Dan to get the better holster. I can't reply to that thread though. The last reply said he can be contacted via Instagram, so if anyone knows the account on IG, I would appreciate it. I can't seem to figure that one out either.

I know that was a lot, I appreciate everyone's help. Looking forward to this journey.

Hey Scott! Many of us suffered through the wait of the Anovos armor.  I am glad to hear you are finding time to start building.  We are here to help so I look forward to seeing progress on your build.

I got my boots from Imperial Boots which is now Keep Trooping. Very good quality. For gloves I use black gloves from the hardware store. I still use the Anovos undersuit, but I added thumb loops to the cuffs to help prevent naked wrists.

Hey Scott, fellow Scott here!

I too ordered a kit from Anovos, waited a long time for it to arrive then looked in the box, hyperventilated, took another year or so before I opened it and built it.  Mine was an ANH TK.  Not sure which you are doing since I saw a mention of an FOTK, but if it's an ANH TK I would encourage you to follow UKSWraths build. It was an Anovos build and well done.

I would also strongly encourage you to plan to go to level 3 from the get go and aim for that coveted Centurion rating.  Basically, that means your kit is the most accurate kit it can be like you just walked off the set.  It works like this, you build your kit and make sure to have that goal in mind then once complete, your local club will grant you basic 501st approval.  After that you can apply for Expert Infantry and Centurion with us and join the ranks of troopers who have a kit that is among the best.

As for Comms, I run a TKtalkie and absolutely love it.  If you can solder, you can build it.

Undersuit I have is just underarmor like material from Amazon.  Just be sure there are no visible logos that are exposed as that ruins the illusion.

And if you start a WIP or Work In Progress thread you will have a whole bunch of support right here from folks who know the kit you're building and can offer advice and suggestions that come from the experience of building suits.

I wish you luck and look forward to your progress!

First and Foremost Welcome to FISD!

Take a deep breath and dive in to the deep end lol we've all been there and you'll find a ton of resources and experianced members that are always ready to offer advise or a helping hand.

It's a FOTK so I would start with this link  First Order resource page and you should be able to find everything you'll need to get out trooping!

As far as building I would follow ukswraths FOTK build thread.  Many of us have followed both of Tonys original and New TK builds and have been able to go straight to EIB or Centurion because his builds are that clean.

Start a build thread so we can follow along and you'll be able to post up any questions with photos and we can all offer some help.

Cheers
