Detonator Help

Hello There!
I would like to customize my detonator (level 2/3). In my opinion the plate is clearly too high. But I'm not so sure what to do. I'll probably have to shorten the clips. But then I would have to drill new holes. Does it make sense to build a new TD?

Hi Torben,

 

What comes to my mind as a solution for your TD to actually get  the Basic  (L2 and  L3 accuracy) would be a 3 steps fix.

 

CRL Basic Level : The white control panel raised ribbed pad faces the rear, with the controls/round washer style detail closest to the right end cap.

 

1-  Remove the Buttons plate 

2- Trim the Clips (Drill new holes on metal)  and rotate the pvc pipe downwards so you don't need to drill new holes on it.

3- Place the Buttons panel on the correct position

You could also just re-bend the clips (if the material allows) or even make new clips and use the existing holes, this will also save removing the control plate. 

 

The height and length of the clips dictates where the control panel will sit on the wearer.

I had the same problem. I ended up cutting the tips off and drilling two new holes. It didn't take as long as I expected and now the "donut" faces outward instead of upward

is it ok to use an aluminum tube? I ended up with one from a kit...it isn't shiny but dull grey

I would think you would still need to paint, aluminium does not have the right color. You can reach out to your GML (garrison membership liaison) as they are ultimately the ones looking after base approval.
